If BOI 360 Max Co. is based in Thailand, I can understand, but if not, then this is almost petty. What next? Checking your work emails in Thailand whilst on holiday or in transit, is working?

Do the rent a goon litter cops give out receipts when they fine? Those of you that do get approached, ask for a receipt and take a photo of them. Or take a photo of them no matter what, or better yet, film it.
What would happen if you just walked away? If they laid a finger on you, wouldn't that constitute assault?

Some nutters here saying a man with a gun - a criminal, shooting an animal in the street didn't do anything bad!
If that happened in your home countries, you would if you were of sound mind, think he should be jailed.

"The Airport of Smiles"
When was the last time if ever someone at immigration actually smiled at someone giving them their passport?

Haven't used a taxi from or to the airport since the airport link opened.
Hopefully, I will never have to again.

It's illegal. Those saying it is no different to pigs or cows, and if someone wants to eat them they should, shouldn't you also allow for those that want to eat human flesh?
The reason people in most of the civilized world have an affinity towards dogs and find their culling for food or fur akin to savagery is because we have lived and worked with dogs for such a long time.
Then they also became pets.
Even in China millions are outraged that certain parts of China still butcher them.

time to wise up , go vegetarian.
I eat a lot of vegetarian food myself and I'm almost a vegetarian. But, I had a nasty case of food poisoning once from a vegetarian restaurant.

So you tie the cord around your neck then sit down under the door knob or what? How is that going to prevent the natural survival instinct as one starts to suffer or die?
I have no idea of a technique whereby someone can hang them self in such a way but apparently it's not uncommon.
I guess that means when my time, as a foreigner in Thailand, comes to be discovered having committed suicide it's going to have to be somewhat more dramatic to achieve the result. Suicide by going out on the job, perchance?
You could use the door knob from the other side with the cord going over the top of the door.

Objecting to having AIDS sufferers living nearby in Pattaya lol!
HIV and AIDS are not the same.

why do you all feel the need to comment on this? A man has died - end of story until something else comes up. Some of you need to get some fun in your lives!!
Says the person who made a comment.

Walked through the alleged shakedown zone twice today. No police in sight.
Both the police and the army are becoming famous for a lack of follow up. A crackdown, then nothing. Sometimes that is a good thing. In the case of the jet ski scammers, the Samui taxis, the beach clean ups, etc., sometimes not.
The jet ski scammers were allowed back on the beach because they told the Junta they would have to resort to crime (a paradox) to make a living.

I don't know what would be better for it, life in the wild in Thailand or a hell hole zoo. Imagine if the roof top hell hole zoo in Bangkok got hold of it?

Is it tourists, or is it those who live here also? I've never experienced an incident because I speak Thai.
If you live here, learn the lingo. If you don't.... not much will change in ATTACKING tourists, I'm afraid.
I don't understand what you're saying- the police have never stopped you because you speak Thai..? It's not like they can tell you can speak Thai just by looking at you.
I can speak Thai.
I've still been stopped and searched by police.
In fact I've had Thai people I've been out with stopped and searched alongside me. They could definitely speak Thai.
The Thai people that were searched with you, what was their opinion of the searches?

If found guilty, the suspects can appeal to the Appeals Court and then the Supreme Court. This will take years.
Whilst sitting in a Thai jail?
There, anything could happen to them to put this whole thing to bed.

You have more chance of being stopped at Asok, asked for ID, have yourself searched and asked to 'pay' a get out of jail fine, than experience terrorism.
Have they warned about the Asok goons?

I would like to know the success rate for drug busts (legit ones) when foreigners have been stopped and searched.
And, just what powers do the rent-a-litter cop goons have? They are not police, they won't have any power of arrest, and where does the money supposedly go to (I don't mean their pockets)?
There have also been reports these goons have been involved with searching foreigners for drugs around Soi 15.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all in Thailand, I will never forget being on a normal bus in Bangkok when the driver was racing at high speed to get to bus stops before another bus of the same number.
It was inane, pathetic and juvenile.

If these police aren't real police with powers of arrest, or even if they are real but are right at the bottom of the police food chain, then what happens if you just keep walking away when they approach you? Are they really going to chase after you? Are these the type of police with guns who actually look like police or are they those scruffy, sweaty types with no guns....sort of turds on legs that just sit by the road all day?
This thread has degenerated into mostly useless bickering. We need strategy, not useless bickering.
The litter goons who as some reports suggest are also involved in some shakedowns, don't have guns.
Only real police have guns.
I have no idea what the laws are with walking away from the goons with no guns.
I would assume it is totally illegal them even asking to search people.
I wonder what their legal status is with littering. Could people just walk off? Do they call the real police to back them up?
Our company moved all meetings to Hongkong now, we want to feel safe on the streets. This is going to cost Thailand a lot of money/reputation.
You should inform the place you usually book for your meetings and let them know why you have moved all meetings to HK.
The more the big players see business lost, the more chance these goons will have to stop their searches.

Thailand should be leading the way what with their so called reverence for the elephant.

Do we know what 'evidence' the UK police saw?
Was everything available?
Did they question anything?
Just because there is 'evidence', doesn't necessarily mean the 'guilty' did it.

I seem to remember reading when the protestors were camping in the park, there were less of them or they weren't to be seen.
