  1. At which times most people light candles , which is what most people would do if they turn their lights off. Candles produce 10x the pollution a lightbulb produces. But the optics of turning of the lights would be good (Pun intended) It is a symbolic act that at least raises awareness,
  2. First let's wait and see how this thing plays out. For most expats living on pension it might not be an issue. This year will not be an issue because any money transferred can be from savings from last year (Those who have savings back home) and are not taxable. For many ,such as Americans, most pensions are only taxed in the US by bilateral agreement. Then there will be deductions, So let's see. I have already limited ny transfers to Thailand, which in a way it's a good enforced discipline to save. IMO this system will cost more to Thailand than it will make, because people will limit the amount they transfer to that which absolutely nessacery. I was in the States over the holidays, and brought some money back with me. Both the wife and me are going to the US in june, we can bring back a certain amount each without declaring it, Not sure what the total amount each is In the meantime If needed, I can draw from the extension money in the bank and replace it before I have to do my extension next march. If things get to crazy here . (pollution, tax, visa issues etc) there is always plan C, and many more letters in the Alphabet,
  3. Someone makes a claim that they wiped out a virus, A time later the virus infects a bunch of people, Rightly so, people say, "But X said he wiped out the virus" Do you think a response " whis is not about X , viruses are hard to wipe out" is a viable response? IMO a better response might had been " We all know X is a A-hole, but let's not derail this subject and talk about X ,and let's concentrate at the issue at hand, which is not that X is an A-hole"
  4. How would I even know? But I couldn't care less.
  5. And instead lighting a bonfire by which to see.
  6. Drinking and driving is widespread in Thailand , not a day goes by that my wife does not warn me " stay away from that bike, he is drunk" Twice I have personally seen a motorbike driving erratically, then drifting to the side and in slow motion tipping over. the driver laying there, No one even gave him a second look. I told the wife, "should we stop and check if he is alright? and she said. "No let him sleep" I am sure many of you have seen the same. Of course people need to be arrested, but until this culture of drinking and driving changes , the problem will continue. Arresting a foreigner makes for good PR but will have little or no impact on the problem.
  7. And wait until deep fake starts being used more, It already has to a limited degree. "Trump supporters target black voters with faked AI images " https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68440150 if these people are buying these obvious to anyone with half a brain propaganda devices, what will they do when there are images indistinguishable from real. and words are coming out of the guy they hate that confirms their bias, "Experts have long warned of a future where artificial intelligence makes it impossible to tell digital fact from fiction. Now that future is here. A recent case of a recording that sounds like a high school principal making racist comments shows the risk that widely available generative AI tools can pose and the difficulty of detecting their use. " https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/ai-audio-deepfakes-are-quickly-outpacing-detection/#:~:text=Experts have long warned of,tell digital fact from fiction. What will happen when you don't even know what is real and what is not anymore? It is a problem that few people are talking about, but at this time it is probably the biggest threat that AI poses to civilization. Remember this warning as the campaign heats up.
  8. Is it all the time? Because most of the time I don't have any problems Usually it takes a couple of minutes. Sometime it takes a day or two but not often. But before you agree the transfer their system tells you how long it will take. Does the Wise system tell you it will take 5 days , or is the delay perhaps an issue with your bank here. I transfer or from BOA to Kasikorn, never any delays, With Bangkok bank I had some delays. I just made a transfer yesterday from BOA to Kasikorn and it took only minutes. Did you call W ise? Every time I called them they were very helpful. Mostly for lodging on issues and once I needed to confirm my identity.
  9. I am retired , and I want simple. My pensions are automatically deposited in BOA , when ever I need funds I transfer with Wise. Most simple least costly method

  13. I don't even know what to do with this reply Why should I stop driving cars???? Makes no sense. Why cant I drive a less polluting car? And I did not know the internet was a major CO2 contributor, but I don't know everything, Do tell how not using the internet, will make any substantial contribution in CO2 reduction???
  14. or rationalization. Sure CO2 levels have risen in the past due to natural events, but clearly this is not the case now. There are no natural event to account for the Hockey stick graph in CO2 rice, it is clearly human caused. To say otherwise is at the very least rationalizations. You are simply being used by the petrochemical industry to muddy the waters and give them another decade of obscene profits.
  15. No thank you please , It only makes me sneeze . Since logic appears not to be your strong point, allow me to simplify for you.. Just because something happened before there were humans. It does not mean that it is not happening now because of humans now. You're welcome.
  16. That's not what I hear in the news
