  1. We purchased a Rai of property about 5 minutes from our house, Not sure what we will do with it. We will play with it (plant fruit trees, small vegetable patch. There is water available, but we might dig a well. There is no electric yet, even though it is located in a main road. Funny enough, the lectric comes to about 1/4 of a km from the property and starts again about the same distance from it. Both lines seem to come from different directions I know they are going to extend the electrical lines, to reach our property soon, and when it does the value of the property will increase, and I might sell it at that time for a profit. Or if we like it there, sell our current home, and build there. I tell you all that so you might have a clear picture of the situation. If you want to skip this lomg explanation, my question is all the way at the end. As a stop gap solution , I need a small generator. I dont want tp spend a lot because as I said, we should have electric power there soon. In the mean time, I want to do some work there, Build a small shed, to keep some tools there, a bathroom for the ladies, And a Sala to hung out in while there. And as such I need to be able to run a few power tools and a small ark welder. and a pump in case we dig a well. I was thinking of spending 6,000-10,000 ฿ How strong a generator would I need for such a task?
  2. Thank You That's exactly what I was looking for. I will ofcourse give both a call. but the second link looked promising.. I realise that building a cement block room, would probably cost the same or less, But I wanted to build a small house there , and if I build a room, the wife would be happy with it and never let me build the small house.. When married you have to use strategic planning my friend ????
  3. NEED A SHIPPING CONTAINER We recently purchased a property , a bit more than a Rai near our home in Khon Kaen , we would mostly used it to do a bit of gardening and fruit trees . In essence play until we decide what to do with it.We have been thinking of building a small farm house , but until then I need something to store out tools and equipment and Use as a staging area, Any leads as to where to find one, and costs associated would be greatly appreciated
  4. Thank you for that advice I will give Cadiphen a try.
  5. An update: I took the tablet to a phone repair place as suggested by Crossy and got the thing fixed, Cost 500 bht. charging works great!! and went on lazada and ordered a magnetic charging cable as suggested by KannikaP . So I am good to go until I can make it back to the States and buy another better tablet, most likely the 10" kindle, because as mentioned by OneMoreFarang staring for hours at a back lighted screen can not be very good for me. I think it might contribute to my insomnia. (I get up in the middle of the night after about 4 hours of sleep to go to the bathroom, and then cant go back to sleep for an hour or so) And what do I do for that hour? I read on the tablet that might be contributing to my not be able to sleep. LOL
  6. Thank for that, if I cant as suggested repair the charging post, they both look like good choices, Brilliant!! ????, I did not know that they even existed. You are of course right about paper white. Its a great suggestion. But for the time , repairing the charging port is a good stop gap solution. We are planning to go to the States later next year, and when there I see advertised 10 " paperwhite Kindle for about 12,000 baht
  7. Thank you for that suggestion, I only seem to be able find the 7.5" model for sale in Thailand Oh wait , I found this , but is a bit more than I am willing to part with at this time
  8. You are right with everything you say, I am suffering a bit from insomnia lately and I wonder if it might be the result of staring at a backlight screen (being retired I read a lot) , But .. I had ordered a kindle paperwhite , and for me it was simply too small . Like robblok, I read too fast and a 10" screen works for me. Not sure if you can buy a 10 inch Kindle here in Thailand and even if I could it would probably cost more arms and legs I am willing to part with. LOL The Reader Rogglok suggested looks interesting . but also don't seem to be available in Thailand. Perhaps as Crossy suggested, I will attempt to repair the charging port , as a stop gap solution and revisit a purchase when we take a trip to the states.
  9. I know very little about them, and the one I have now (fire tablet 10") is becoming problematic with the charging port . I have to move the cable around and hold it in a particular position to get it to charge . It is only time before it stops charging completely. Not sure if a charging port is repairable, or even if it's worth it. I only use this tablet for my kindle books, I would buy kindle reader but they are so small and expensive. Anyway, I looked at Lazada and there are so many brands I am not familiar with and so many configurations . As I said Just keep in mind I will only use it for E-books, for everything else I have my laptop. Thank you all
