Follow up: I took the advice of a member here and looked into Dtac long distance, who also happens to be my cellphone provider, As it turns out , Dtac long distance to the US is between 1-2.5 baht per minute. so sor less than what I paid for Skype I get more minutes than I could ever use, for the few times I call to the US. to communicate with friends and family I use FB messenger. I realize that I will not be able to get text codes from banks and gov. but the workaround to that is that I have my daughter's tell # on file with them and when a text code is nessacery, they send it to my daughter, and she texts it to me.

I have my daughter there, could she do that, How would that work? with me here ? I could l give that a try.

I am in Thailand. I downloaded the GV app, but when I try to open the app I get the message "Sorry , google voice is not available in your country , so I assume I have to be in the US to set up GV. But I am not going there for a while. My question: My daughter is in the US, if she set up a google voice account on her phone and gave me the log on information, would I be able to Open the Google Voice up on my phone using her log on information and use it to make calls? And will there be a conflict calling her Phone in her cell carrier number, because GV will be on her phone also? PS: I have a VPN on my phone here in Thailand and I can make it look like my phone is in the US while I make calls. .

This is not the first time I had this issue with a laptop, but the charger port is starting to feel a bit lose. I have seen these magnetic charging ports for mobile phones an such. where you don't have to pull the plug out every time, and I was wondering if there is such a thing for a laptop, with those round charging ports. I did a search on lazada and Shoppe, but I am not sure if i was using the wrong search term. would I be better off using a USB charger? and if so which kind? Any advice would be appreciated.
