Fifteen Foreign Riders Arrested in Patong Breaking Traffic Rules
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I just came back from downtown Khon Kaen . cops were out in force pulling motorbikes over. Almost every corner, without exaggeration had a team of traffic cops. Of the hundreds of bikes pulled over I did not see on farang. I guess end of the month and they need to make payroll. -
I agree. A great car.

Is it any wonder the ICE vehicles are much more likely to catch fire? They have a tank filled with a highly flammable liquid . I remember in the 80s back in the US there was a sporty car , I think made by Pontiac that had to be recalled and subsequent discontinued because it had a tendency to catch fire, It was appropriately named Fiero.

Portable air conditioners are very inefficient, any money you save buying them you will quickly spend that and much more in running bills. Google it.

Fifteen Foreign Riders Arrested in Patong Breaking Traffic Rules
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Not sure? maybe it was a Russian guy kicking a Swede or the other way around. By the way is it Swiss or Swede or either? I have been thinking about this a lot. -

Fifteen Foreign Riders Arrested in Patong Breaking Traffic Rules
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The Swedes are uncharacteristically underrepresented. (Pheu those were big words). probably out busy kicking people. It would help if the overall traffic arrests so that one can determine if in the overall scheme of things it was par for the course or a significant increase. And what do they mean by arrested? were they ticketed, of are they languishing in jail? -
Electricity saved in Bangkok during “Earth Hour” less than last year
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Ridiculous!! This event was not done to save energy or reduce CO2 , it was done to increase awareness. The fact that less electricity was saved this year as compared to last year, could be attributed to less people participating for a variety of reasons, or to the climatic reasons. The fact that we are talking about it indicates some success in the awareness column. -
Portable a/c are very inefficient. get a regular a/c In a regular a/c the condenser is cooled outside the room A single hose portable A/C uses the room air it just cooled to also cool down the condenser coils. then it expels that hot air outside the room via the hose. But that hot air it send outside the room , now needs to be replaced, otherwise after a while the room will implode LOL. So outside warm air is vacuumed in through cracks and opening So it is inefficient in two ways, Using inside air it just cooled to cool down the condenser, and replacing the air it expelled with outside warm air, At least this is my understanding of the system.

Hilti is good But Milwaukee provides a better balance between price and quality For our heavy hammer drills , chipping gunns and epoxy gun systems we used exclusively Hilti (High rise concrete) But for hand held cordless tools that took a beating at the job site, we exclusively used Milwaukee . The Milwaukee angle grinder is good (I have one) but it eats' up the batteries pretty quick , when ever I use it I always have two batteries at hand, one always charging. When near electric, nothing beats a wired angle grinder,

Absolute poverty: UK sees biggest rise for 30 years

That goes without saying it. In the summer they also drive around to keep cool. -
^^^ Lumps not lamps So By the way, I just rook my honda apart to change the primer bulb, (it got a hole in it) .and discovered that the fuel lines and filter looked brittle . Tomorrow I will go get the parts and put it together again. I think it's at least a two Carabao job.Any more and the Honda might never work again

I use to use Chang for sharpening blades. Which is good for amature blade sharpening But if one is to get serious about their blade sharpening , I know there has been a lot of debate over this, But 9 out of 10 professionals suggest Carabao Lager. Three lamps of ice, two not enough to maintain proper temperature , four will make it to watery.

Absolute poverty: UK sees biggest rise for 30 years
sirineou replied to Social Media's topic in World News
To say that Brexit has nothing to do with the poverty issue , simply makes no sense. Perhaps if you said "little to do" I might agree. I don't think there is anyone in the world that argues Brexit helped the UK economically. Poverty is an economic issue. The war in the Ukraine did not help , but the war in the Ukraine is not affecting the UK only it is affecting the whole of Europe . The whole of Europe is having its own issues, but not as bad as the UK , So what is the contributing factor that is making things more difficult in the UK? I would argue Brexit. -
I use an angle grinder to sharpen the flat blades. Then I heat them up with a propane torch and quench them in water. Not sure if it's the right thing to do. but it seems to work for me. Why cut a Lemon tree? Are they in the way? I am of Greek descent. we put lemon in everything LOL A couple of years ago I finally got my Greek passport , One of the questions in the application was "do you cut down lemon trees?" If I had said yes, I am sure I would have got a denied stamp,

Australians divided over ‘Voice to Parliament’ for Indigenous people
sirineou replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That was then, this is now. When the question was asked "What is the best measure of a man" The answer was " By the way he treats those weaker than him" But I agree , about the mythology of the American Indian , portrayed as the philosophical noble savage . Realities were much different. -
House in wives / girlfriends name

I have heard the same thing -
IMO a circular saw is much more versatile than an angle grinder. You can change the blade on the circular saw and cut metal or concrete . You could but wood with a angle grinder but you won't do a good cut, you can't really make a good straight cut. You cant adjust the depth of the cut and you cant set an angle.
