  8. Can anyone who has applied recently online for a Non O based on retirement from UK confirm that insurance is not required. I applied in October last year and it was required at that time. I know that no insurance is required for on Non O based on marriage.
  9. Do you require insurance for an online application for a Non O based on retirement? From the London Thai Embassy - Non-Immigrant Type O (Retirement (pensioner aged 50 or above with a state pension who wants to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days) - single entry only) Financial evidence e.g. A copy of pension statement if the applicant is a pensioner, or a copy of 1-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000 Confirmation of legal residence in the UK or Ireland. Copy of health insurance that covers COVID-19 related medical expenses, both inpatient and outpatient, no less than 100,000 USD for the whole period of your stay in Thailand. Is this Insurance still required?

  11. A non O-A visa will give you permission to stay for 1 year or until your insurance expires.whichever is earliest. In your case if you arrive in July 2022 you will get permission to stay until November 2022. If you want to stay until March 2023 you will have to extend your insurance.
  12. Went to Kalasin Hospital on Monday 10th January for my day 5 PCR test, apparently they don’t issue test certificates or inform you of the test result, they will only contact you if you test positive! I doubt whether they have entered my result on any data base. I feel that I have complied with all the requirements.
  13. Should have said There are a few listed in Chiang Rai I would be interested to know how the system for the second PCR test works - I am booked to arrive 5th January.
  14. I would think that you could use any of the Government listed hospitals -https://service.dmsc.moph.go.th/labscovid19/indexen.php There are a few listed in Chiang Mai
  15. I would not be surprised if the ATK test was scrapped and replaced with RT-PCR test once again. Yesterday 2 hotels in Bangkok were advertising ATK packages with and without 1 nights stay. Today those adverts have been removed. I contacted my hotel, which I have booked for January – reply was Hi, We are awaiting official government annoucement with regards to this policy. Currently, there is indication that the decision maybe reverted back to original PCR Test requirement.
  16. I have DTAC Thai number and Kasikorn banking - at one time I could get OTP (one time password) using my phone in the UK- that no longer works. Is there a way of getting the OTP? I can do most of the banking on line , but some transactions require a OTP.

  19. If you have done the “sandbox”, I assume you are fully vaccinated, you don’t need a pcr test before flying to London. Before you travel to England you must: Book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England complete a passenger locator form – to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England When you arrive in England – fully vaccinated After you arrive in England you must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2. You must book this test before you travel.
  20. What coronavirus (COVID-19) testing and quarantine rules you need to follow depends on: whether you qualify as fully vaccinated where you have been in the 10 days before you arrive Find out what to do if you’re: travelling to England travelling to Scotland travelling to Wales travelling to Northern Ireland
  21. If you are fully vaccinated This is what you need to do if you qualify under the fully vaccinated rules for travel to England. Before you travel to England – fully vaccinated Before you travel to England you must: book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England complete a passenger locator form – to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England You will need to enter your COVID-19 test booking reference number on your passenger locator form. When you arrive in England – fully vaccinated After you arrive in England you must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2. You must book this test before you travel. there is talk that at the end of October the day 2 test will be changed from a PCR test to a cheaper lateral flow test other parts of UK have their own rules
  22. Found this web site-https://blog.wego.com/countries-without-quarantine/ You can input your passport country country travelling from country travelling to vaccination status
  23. I intend to return to UK at the end of August. This might be even sooner if UK add Thailand to red list on the next review 4th or 5th August. My problem is that all public transport ( flights buses and trains) from Khon Kaen to Bangkok have been suspended until covid -19 conditions improve, which doesn't look likely soon! Have contacted a few taxi companies, said they would call back with quote, but never did. Someone in my village is willing to take me, but with army checks preventing people leaving Bangkok, I worry that he would be would be stopped from returning to his home. Do you think this would happen? I thought about hiring car at Khon Kaen airport and dropping off at Suvarnabhumi airport but I don't feel confident to do this, never driven in Bangkok. Can someone recommend a reliable/ reasonable price taxi service. Or any other suggestions. Thanks Tim
