PayPal no longer available to foreigners in Thailand
monkfish replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It just can't be possible the Thai Government would force a Fintech company to use the services of a private company for account verification. Now if that's what PPT is telling you then I am not surprised they've botched this up. In fact it's been a mess since the beginning of the year when they 1st said only registered companies could have accounts. -

Exactly Paypal Thailand would have you believe they have no choice but to close down foreigners accounts but there are other options to verify accounts as with TrueMoney and DeeMoney but they just can't be bothereed, -

It didn't! Paypal is just using the services of the private company National Digital Co., Ltd for account verification. -

Because the Law would never require or force a Financial company to use a private company in this case National Digital Co., Ltd for account verification I mean what if that company were to close down? -

Yes I have received Emails from Paypal no problem there But what I mean is I have never received Emails from Paypal "stated very clearly" why they have chosen to only use the NDID system for account verification. -

Yes it does! Paypal are required by Thai Law to verify accounts and they have chosen to use NDID verification system because it's the simplest for them but only supports Thai ID's. They could manually verify accounts if they wanted to but they don't. -

No they haven't or at least they have never sent any me any such Emails. They are required by Thai Law to verify accounts and Paypal has chosen to use NDID because it's the simplest for them but only supports Thai ID numbers. Funny thing is NDID is a private Company nothing to do with the government. https://www.ndid.co.th/ -
Thaksin blames Gen. Prawit for the Tak Bai massacre
monkfish replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think Abhisit was always just a puppet PM it was the Military who did the shooting. PM's in Thailand don't seem to have much control of the Military unless of course they become the PM. In Thailand Generals never loose their power even when they retire. -

It wasn't only Drug Suspects who were killed they were Civilians, Police, Drug Addict's and Drug Dealers many of whom also had guns. During a 3 month period of the war on drugs about 2500 people were killed which was about double the average amount at the time. -

Do you know any PM or President in the World who has quit because their Military killed civilians? In Thailand the Military are way more powerful than any PM and they don't go away after 4 or 5 years. -
Dude what you said doesn't even have anything to do with the topic. But anyway we live here and we have the right to an opinion on the country we live in. I am sure if I was complimenting Thailand you wouldn't complain. Thailand is a great county but it's not perfect same as my own country the UK but I don't complain about the UK here because I don't live in the UK and after all this is a Thai Forum.

I completely agree this whole mask thing is probably affecting Children the most starting from Education and can you imagine how backwards the kids must be after learning online for 3 years? They don't even see the expressions on their parents faces so how will they ever develop any social skills. Maybe some don't even recognize their parents now that's very sad. The whole mask thing was only hyped to up to keep SOE in place. I agree if I had kids I would 100% not stay in Thailand not because of facemasks but because they will be brainwashed in the schools to love the Buddhist Religion and the Army and that would disturb me a lot. Now ask yourself who wants to still wear face masks it's the old Dinosaurs who don't care about anything else but themselves.

Yes I absolutely 100% agree everyone to their own but there's a group of Thai's lets call them Maskers they tend to be older influential people in communities who are bullying others who don't want to wear masks into wearing them do you agree with that or not? One example and there are many Banks force people to wear masks even when they don't want to.

Some exposure to Viruses is good thing as it will help develop a strong immune system so we are ready for the next Covid when it comes. Personally I haven't had a cold or Flue in like 15 years and not had Covid yet either even though I don't wear a mask but I know people who wear masks and have had Covid twice.

Hospital reports spike in RSV cases among children
monkfish replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They are still wearing masks but infections are on the rise? Probably didn't catch it before as all schools were closed. Would be interesting to know how many cases there are now compared to pre Covid -
The reason Thai's are still wearing masks is that they want to perceived as being good people and they are worried to be judged or bullied for not wearing one. If you see Thai's glaring at you in supermarkets when you don't wear one it's because you are being Judged as not a good person. It's all part of being a Buddhist nothing to do with Covid anymore.
