True Visions Platinum is cheap, YES but for how much longer!!??

I am interested in this satellite service from Indonesia, as has good.

channels that True does not have and 6 in HD, plus its C band so no

problem with the weather, and the subscription is only 6K per annum.

Over the years I have had 5/6 services ,some only lasting a few months

so before I venture into this ,I would be grateful for any information from

anyone who has this service, and if any installers in Chiang Mai, as

only 3 I know are in BKK.

If anyone is subscribing to Skynindo ,I would be grateful for any

information about quality of service,reliability picture quality,

size of dish you use,what the cost of the subscription and box was

in fact anything that would be of help,before I again invest in another

system,over the years have had quite a few different satellite services,

spent a lot of money,some only lasted months,so this time I am trying

to be more cautious ,

Without fail when I go shopping I have a small book with

the goods I am looking to buy written in it, then I write

shelf price next to item and add total ,and I have been

doing this for years ,about 10% of the time its overcharged,

NEVER under , it maybe just 30 -50bht, but has also been in

the 100s of baht,

The most recent example was at a bakery supply store, bought

5 items, jam jars had price on shelf at 420bht for 60, they tried

to charge 520bht, 2pkts almonds charged for 4,same with

wholewheat flour bought 1 charged for 2,

Donot think I am a cheap charlie, just no ones going to rip me off

So advise you all to start checking your bills if you want to save money

I was with them since they were IBC, and canceled a couple

years ago,they never refunded my 4K deposit, also know a

few friends that never got a refund, gave me all kinds of

crap excuses ,so wishing you good luck,

Why not go with Skynindo package from Indonesia,many good channels,

inc HD, only need a 6ft dish ,and very reasonable price, on Palapa D

sat covers all Thailand,check out Jsat or Satthai sites

I plan to buy an Acer Revo 3700 netbox ,I have a choice of Win 7

or Linux OS installed,I would prefer the Linux,but as I know

nothing about Linux,I would be very grateful if anyone could

answer a few questions i have about Linux.

I only use the computer for very simple tasks,like surfing,

e mail,watching BBC iPlayer,ITV Player ect,and streaming

radio.

1) Can I watch BBC iPlayer ect , will have flash and unblock-us

installed ?

2) Can I use google mail ?

3) Can you use Opera browser with Linux?

4)Do I need a firewall and AntiVirus installed?

5) Is there an app like CCleaner for Linux?

Unblock-us is the way to go, got the free 7 days trial and it works perfectly,

will subscribe to yearly contract when trial is over, you get BBC iPlayer,

ITV player, and several US providers too.

Also very easy to set up,just click the button that does it for you automatically,

in the past have tried several free options but they were not reliable,so happy

to pay a few bob,just to get the iPlayer ,worth it, NOW just need to work out

how to stream content to my tv.

I have been watching BBC and ITV on the BBC iPlayer with the

BBC plug in and it has been working great until this morning ,and

I find something has changed and get 500 fault ?, So just hope

someone can fix it soon.

Your problem ITV stuttering most likely caused by ExpatShield slowing

things down as its a VPN,

I have seen Ceylon(Sri Lankan) tea in both Rimping and Tops,cannot remember

the brand but was definitely from Sri Lanka.

Word of caution bringing in tea through customs ,my daughter was very lucky

that they let her through with my supply of Yorkshire tea ,they found something

else they could levy tax on ,but said next time it would be confiscated !!

Twinnings is expensive,Liptons not strong enough ,even if you left in cup

all day,and the brand manufactured in Chiang Mai,not good enough.

Yes its also slow here in Sansai, ,well, when I say slow,quicker

posting letter to UK.and its not only Google but Yahoo mail as

well, AOL not so bad.

All the channels are still there,TRUE have just been messing about with

the channel numbers AGAIN, They said with the last big change of numbers

that would not need to do it again,BUT of course they have,think they just like

to to mess about with their customers.

So I have just got all my channels sorted out the way I like them, and they are

all there you just have to look for them.

Well its about time they increased the interest rates ,but I suppose

inflation will just keep going through the roof ,so will still be in a

negative position.

Remember the time here I could get 18% interest, price of things

about half of todays prices, Ah! the good old days,gone forever?

Try checking other channels ,as True has changed the numbers

on some channels,everytime I get them in the order I like, they

change them, I thought last time they did a big reordering of

the channels that would be it, BUT this is True and sometimes

I wonder if they just do to annoy their customers!!!
