  2. well the lady came to tghe police station and told the biggest load of lies I've heard in a long time, she said she didn't pull out, so I asked her how I had accident on a straight quiet road, she then proceeded to make up a story about a delivery truck being parked across the road which I tried to go round but failed...........there was no truck across the road, I then asked her if there was a truck how was she able to drive away....she just said nothing, lucky I have several witnesses that saw everything including the fact that there was no truck.

Before leaving I said to her......you know you have done wrong, why are you lying, why don't you just admit you made a mistake and contact your insurance, do the honourable thing. What a piece shit she is, I guess I didn't expect anything else from a ******, I am taking this to court no matter what, too many people saw this happening, I will have my day.

Go for it gharknes dont be a mushroom like so many on this board stand up for what is right you may ended up forking out more money so what make the ****** pay for what she did

I wonder if some posters would change there tune if you where driving a car and not a bike

as for patex or what ever his name is that said why ride a bike in this day and age I guess we should stop using pushbikes and horses too you sad pooring person

  3. Hi All

I was recently married in a Temple marriage and now wish to register the marriage so it is legal in Thailand. My wife and I live in Chiang Mai and have been told that as an Australian I need to visit my Embassy in Bangkok to get a letter or Statutory Declaration from them. This then needs to be translated and taken to some Government Office in Bangkok where another form is issued which we can then take to her local Tambon and register her marriage.

My question is this; Does my wife need to go to Bangkok to sign anything in person . We have called the Oz embassy who did not know the answer and then called the number they gave us for the Thai Goveernment Office who gave us two different answers. The thing is she is 5 months Pregnant and not real keen on travelling to Bangkok to do it. I was hoping I could do all the paperwork on my own.

    Any replies appreciated.

    JT

No your wife doesnt need to go to Bangkok

I got the form from the Aussie embassy took it back to Nongbualamphu filled it out handed it to a translation shop in Udon they sent it to Bangkok got all the stamps and sent it back within three days. And the rest is in the local tambon office easy money

  4. I was dropped kicked out of high school best thing that ever happened to me joined the army then the oil rigs and still making more money than most so call well ededcated people

But you should not confuse education with intelligents or commonsense

  5. Just been to celebrate the house completion of yet another relative of the Mrs. I haven't met before (son of her mother's sister in law's first husband from a previous marriage, or so).

The first alc-corpse was loaded unto the back of a truck at 12.30. I got pretty blasted within half an hour of arrival, and it took a lot of determination on my part not to end up laying next to the other guy, the way all sorts of drink where pushed in my face. I am not impartial to a glass of something or two, but this kind of 'hospitality' doesn't help at all to keep my 'addictive personality' in check. :D

Meanwhile, the sound system was blasting away at full volume, stifling any attempt at conversation.

I had some fun dancing and giggling with the 'girls' (all middle-aged and married), but decided to retreat, not least because some intoxicated guys kept pulling me harshly to their table and pouring more drinks... :D

Sonds like a typical party to me... :o

    totster :D

I have partys at my house quit often with most being thai and one or two farang except during xmas alot more farang around

I love t partying with the old thai guys they know how to have a good time.

We always end up getting a bit stupid by the end of the night but every one enjoys them self and know one gets hurt except the time we played aussie foot ball on the lawn at 0100 in the morning :D

  6. I learned a lot from this thread. Thanks to all of you. :o

Noticed that you seem to have a Custom Seat... I am not so much interested in the studs as the seat appears to be much softer than the orginal stock seat... My old butt gets a bit sore after a couple of hours of riding, and would like to consider a softer alturnative... Where did your come from, how comfortable is it and how much did it cost??

    Pianoman

I paid 84,000 for a brand new phantom and an additional three something thousand for leather bags on the side. Possible to purchase such leather bags cheaper and in the same quality it is?

Like I said. The quality for the leather bags is very good and I wanted them, though I might get them cheaper I got plessure from them now and feel good about my purchase of both leather bags and Phantom.

Congradulations, that might not be the best price for bags but it was not bad, you did good.

If you want a good set of real leather saddle bags made to fit your bike call (SUB A NAN MOTOR) in Khon kean (043) 320992 (09) 7105850. I had a set made for my shadow 1100 after buying and trying a few cheaper sets. The ones I had made are large foam lined and I am happy with the product but they will be going back for a little bit of ajusting They cost 5,500 bht but I am sure a smaller set will be a little bit cheaper. He also has the largest range of bigger motor cycles in Khon kean and plenty of spare parts it is worth a look

  7. Hi Ray

I to enjoy village rides but I normally do them by my self leaving early in morning at first light and just taking a different road or side track each time. Leave the map at home as it makes it more fun and over the last few years have ended up in some remote villages in fact most would call were I live remote

I have noticed in the remote areas they point and call out boxy dar. Which I at first thought was some sort of insult but is in fact isan for falang.

Have never felt uneasy and most just want to have a chat with you and look at the bike. And you get the odd shop keeper that’s trying to marry off there daughters or women that want to come with me or try and get on the back of my bike

had a few drunks try and get money or get me to buy them a whiskey and but are not very aggressive.

As for the roads they can be very dangerous pot holes 2 meters wide and ½ meter deep the first big one I hit near snapped the 1100 in half as well as large parts of road washed out..

But all in all it’s great fun much better than dealing with busy highways and is a good relaxing ride unless you get lost but then you just sit down and have a chang and its not so bad :o

  8. Bottom line is if you want a small bike to do some light touring on and a bit more comfort and leg room for around town buy a Phantom but don’t expect to load it up and head of down a busy highway as from what I have seen it is down right dangerous as you need more power and speed to stay ahead of the traffic or you end up with busses and truck cars trying to push you of the road. It not just the Phantom that has this problem many of the 400cc and 600cc choppers are not much better. Use it for what it is meant for and I am sure your phantom will be a good reliable little bike.

I enjoy riding all bikes from my 110 to1100 as long as I am riding I have a grin on my face. Just remember riding in Thailand is not for the faint hearted nor is it a place to learn to ride a motorcycle.

    Ride safe

  9. Need some help and advise please:

I have a Nissan Cefiro 3000cc, bought a couple of months ago, verything is fine so far.

But since a couple of days allways when I make a "kickdown" to full accelerate the engine only goes up without any grip from the gear box.

Oil in the aut. gearbox is enough, may be it's time to change???

    I hope nothing worse :o

    Thanks for your help!

    Gerd

I dont think it is anything to do with your oil as long as it has enough oil it sounds like loose bands to me if the new ones still have them. Should be just a ajustment. Try not to let it slip because you will burn it out very quickly

  10. Had a great weekend, with the other guys who rode down from Buriram, Surin and Ubon, had a great ride down untill cabinburi where i lost the bike doing about 130 kms, hit a concrete central reservation, my seal went on the back wheel letting oil on to the tyre, so lost the bike on quite a fast corner, one life gone, other than that superb weekend with plenty of beer, looking forward to next year.

You forgot the bit about how we but you and you bike in the back up pick up and gave you a few beers and you were fight fit will in a few hours :o

and bike and rider on the road the next day F@#$ amazing and lucky come on post the pics of your war wounds

When are we going to do it again

  11. People should also realize that spray on deodorants don’t work well in humid places like Thailand and top end of Australia use a gel or a roll on as it will give you a few more hours before you begin to smell also if you are real hairy under the arm pits thin it out a bit will also help

  12. We have to remember that on TV you are dealing with the expat elite here as no one drinks and drives No one has every dated a bar girl or used there services. No one gets drunk in public and makes a ass of them self’s. And we all are so in tune with Thai culture. And we all smell like roses

It just a pitty I have lived here so long and never met one of you :o

  13. Believe you are married to a Thai and work 35 days and then spend 35 days off in Thailand. For that you should obtain a multi entry O non immigrant visa on the basis of visiting your wife and by showing your marriage certificate (and perhaps a copy of wife id card) at a Consulate outside of Thailand (Penang is probably the best choice in Asia).

    Thanks

  14. I road down to Pattaya with a few guy for the bike show and a few had no plates went through 3 police road blokes from udon area to pattaya and no one seem to care that they had no plates on. But I would be interested in hearing how many and what type of bikes were confiscated. Maybe someone had a shopping list. Anyone hear of any bikes getting stolen over the weekend

  15. I've had a set of tyres on my old Strada for so long that I can't remember how long they have been on there. They are called Leo 625 I think they are Bridgestones.

I only remember that they are Leo's because I sometimes drink Leo beer.....

    I have bridgestones on mine

I was told by a guy that in Thailand all the tyres are made at the same place all they do is change the mold and pump out a few of the other brand so the only differents is the tread patten any Know if this is true
