  1. I have made Non O based on marriage extensions past 7 years end of July but as I travel to home in Europe now pretty often (alone) that

    1. Can I apply new marriage visa without 400000b in a bank account and all the other hassle while I am in Europe already in April even my extension of stay based on marriage end in end of July 2017.

    2. As it has been already 7 years ago when I did a Non O visa. Has anything changed? As I remember I just had very simple paperwork compared what it takes to make the extension.

    3. Is  there a website where I can see what is needed for a new visa?

    4. Do I need a new passport for the new visa and what happens to the extension if I apply new visa before it expires?

    Thanks for your answers.

I would not go by the or more side of it. Just mail it at the 15 days before point. As long as it gets to immigration 7 day before the report date it will be accepted at CW.

It is 15 day before or 7 days after for reporting in person.

Ok. This makes it more clear. I misunderstood. Next time I will send it 2 weeks before. Luckily they got it 7 days before. I will travel out from country in couple months. If I do not get the paper, I won't bother because I will get arrival stamp anyway.

  3. If someone does an extension of stay based on marriage but have a condo in his name and stay there and wife is staying in different address, how complicated this will be from immigration point of view?

Or should they just take the photos together in front of the condo?

I do understand that in default married couples stay under same roof but some cases work or other circumstances can make things different.

Because the immigration is now giving fines not staying at the 90 days report address, this might be a question some people need an answer.

If your report was due on the 5th and you must mail 15 days or more before that date but was not received until the 28th it must have been a slow pony.  At any rate they probably would not process until about the 5th so would not worry for a few more days.

I don't understand this 15 days or more? 15 days or more means 15 to how many days? I thought it needs to be there in that 15 days window = not earlier than 7 days and not later than 7 days from the due date.

Does 15 days or more really mean that I can send it like 1 month earlier? I don't get it.

  5. I've always done 90 days reporting which is no problem but I just realized that next time I will fly out from Thailand 1-2 days after the 90 days is over.

Even if I do the reporting by post and if somehow I do not get the new paper on time to the flight, is that a big problem?

Do they have a system checking the 90 days report? How serious is 1-2 days "overstay" with 90 days reporting or is it an overstay? What it is?

How serious offence the 90 days reporting is compared to the extension of stay overstay?

  6. I think I did not read about the question I have. Sorry if there is answer already....

    My question is:

I am planning on taking 20 years Elite Card but how it works if you need to work or you sometimes need some other kind of visa? Does it get cancelled or you can apply work permit with this visa? Start a business?

I just wonder that if times come and I need some different visa and they say that you are Elite, you need to cancel that first... In my understanding you can have only one visa at a time. So if I go Elite, I will be in Elite status 20 years nothing else...or?

  7. Ask for supervisor is the best thing you do. I've been travelling 10 years in and out of Thailand and even seasoned immigration agents have done several mistakes.

Problem asking supervisor is that I guess usually the officers and supervisors sit down at the same dinner tables at their free time so even if they are wrong, it might be difficult to admit for them.

I have double nationality child as well and everytime out and in with Thai passport. No problems.

But I guess everyone of us had some good and bad experiences with immigration:

    1. Once I got stamped wrong date to my passport (I usually check this but was in a hurry)

    2. Once I was stamped 1 month too long extension and got fined 10000 baht for 20 day overstay. Officer mistake so he had to pay it at the end. They were calling me and I had to do extra trip to immigration. Bummer.

    3. Officers go by the feel many times. In immigration my wife got so mad once so the officer made me run and drive with my car in traffic several hours to pickup some documents. Well we issued complaint about his facebook and other internet use while people were waiting and never saw him working there anymore. There is bad workers in every job thought. Good and bad. Samut Prakan where I used to do extensions is very fast and professional. CW is slow.

People make mistakes in every country and in every profession. In Thailand I don't suggest showing too much negative emotions dealing with officers. I've been stopped by traffic police so many times and once I learned to do the act of respect, it's been easy every time. Even if I am not wrong. Just swallow it like a man. :D

    I am a member since 13 years.

The Thailand Elite card is one of the best things I bought in Thailand.

If the risk is too important for you, keep going with the process you describe above. Otherwise, just go for it and buy yourself a membership. It is just great. It's the easiest and most convenient way to stay in Thailand.

Not sure about the lounge since I use the TG lounges. But I just come back from Europe and there is one thing I can say: With Thailand Elite you feel welcome back each time you arrive in Thailand. And the immigration procedure is done like a breeze...

I've been living in Thailand in and out past 10 years. I have wife and son and seems like there won't be any other place I want to be. I will probably travel alone lot more in next few years so the convenience is there with elite option. I am 40 now so maybe wait couple more years and take that 20 years card. When you get older, you value more these things I guess.

  9. I am set to go and get the 1 year extension in couple weeks from CW and I need a single entry as I will go to Europe in December. This is my first time getting extension and entries from CW so my question is:

In Samut Prakan the same officer who gave me the stamp gave me the single entry. I had the a4 filled up. Does it work same way in CW? Do I need to get another queue number for single entry after getting the stamp?

I am sure I will know when I get to CW but if I am prepared, I can save some time knowing how they handle these things at CW.

    Thanks for your help.

  10. So the whole process of taking photos with wife outside and inside house, going to the bank, getting korrors, signing papers, waiting countless hours in immigration etc. is not needed for 20 years if you get this?

I need to know which lounge it is at the airport. Anyone knows?

It is still a risk thought. I had a lifetime membership with Californina Wow and we all know how it ended.

  11. That 20 year Elite option looks interesting. Only 1 million incl. vat. http://www.thailandelite.com/downloadable_form_file/downloadable_form_file40.pdf

That is 50000b/year. You don't get the golf, spa or airport transfer but for people who fly international flight let's say 5-10 times a year, it is a bargain. I wonder what is the lounge like. It says it will have lounge access both departure and arrival. Also fast track immigration every time is great.

It is how you value your time and frustration with immigration.

Time is money in life and stress kills as well. If your time and stress don't have value, then you save 3900 for multi entry and 1900 for extension. It is about 40000 baht cheaper to do by yourself.

    But here is the question:

Do Elite members need to show any sign of money in the bank account? If I can invest that 400k and make it grow year by year, it can probably pay the elite membership itself.

Only concern is that whole thing will turn up to be scam and I will die in hear attack because of it :D

Is the Elite program legit and really been working well?

  12. I've been doing extensions at Samut Prakan since 2009 and past 5 years I've been using the money what is required for the application straight after the Non O extension application based on marriage has been cleared for the 1 month "under consideration".

I remember last year at Samut Prakan the immigration lady said that keep it over 400k until you get the stamp but I did not because I've never had any problems.

So what I would like to ask is that is there anyone here who has been asked again when you get your stamp after 1 month to show that you have over 400k in your bank account? And other questions. Do you do the same that you just use the money after you've done the application and wait 1 month.

They did not say anything at CW to keep the money at the bank and I've never seen any documentation to keep the money while waiting.

  13. Ok so I decided the "suicide" mission and go on Monday.

Arrived 8.10am. There was already about 100-150 queue behind the door snaking around lobby.

8.30am doors open and there was that 100-150 people before me. I went straight to queue number lane and there was one foreigner before me and he had only passport and almost blank TM7. His tactic most likely was to get the queue number and then do everything while waiting. Did not work. Queue lady asked "where is copy of your passport page". Well the guy did not have it and he did not get the queue number. All he said was "<deleted>"... He probably lost 1-2 hours with that mistake.

Queue lady asked me questions like where I work (Well I don't work anywhere) and asked what I am doing here because my last extension was at Samuprakan. Well I said I moved to Bangkok. She gave me 2 queue numbers. I asked why. She said go and change your address first. Well I've done it already 5 months ago. Well I got queue number 48. This was like 8:40am. The number was 6 that time. 42 people before me even I was there 20 minutes before opening time... Nice :D.

1,5 hours wait and I was well prepared. Had the TM32, TM28 originals and copies (they wanted both). She interviewed me in Thai but with my bad Thai language skills I was able to say that I don't have many Thai friends and my Thai is bad. She asked how long I've been here. Had to sign and do some forms I've never done before. Write about my social media accounts, car registration numbers. where I usually hang out. They took photos. Asked from my wife about her and my family. How many sisters/brothers/name of parents/where from etc.Thing was finished in 45 minutes. Now the passport is stamped under consideration until 22nd of next month.

    Got out from immigration 10:50.

One change form Samutprakan days is that in CW you don't need 2 copies of everything. Just all originals and 1 copy. So next year I will make only one TM7.

Overall feel was that CW is much more tougher and tighter place. Many additional things were asked what never happened in Samutprakarn. My advice is that prepare yourself for everything. Take every single document from your house so you won't regret if they ask. They asked some document from 2007 which we luckily had.

  14. Hi,

I've done 7 years non o extension at samut prakarn. Now will do it at Bangkok first time.

I have a question about the 400k proof.

In Samut Prakan you had to have copies of each page of the book bank, same day proof document from the bank and ATM slip (same day aswell).

Is it same in Bangkok? I just want to make sure I have everything as much right as possible as we all know each office is different.

    Thanks for your help.

  15. Thanks for the answer. I did the address change at the CW already but I guess you mean wifes housebook. It's been painless at Samutprakan but I just worry that I will forget some small document and it will be trouble. It's not easy for my wife to take days off also so hopefully things will go fine.

    Tip:

What I did in Samutprakan is that after you have all the documents and you are waiting final time in queue = take a video with your smartphone and explain what you have in your hand page by page.

I watched that video every year just to make sure I have all the documents. I will do the same again at CW.
