She is not in the same level as education or job as I am but she takes care of herself. She pays for her own clothes, she does as much shopping of groceries if not more than I do, when I am traveling she supports herself. She lives with me and I pay the rent and mainly I pay if I invite her out for dinner but we mainly eat at home. She has never asked me for money, so if I pay for anything it is because I choose to.
I just hope you are strong and stay in control without making stupid marriage mistake. Just keep it like it is by providing good times for both and when/if things get difficult, boring or too challenging... You know what to do. You have the edge but seems like you are still too naive about how ladies work emotionally. In future you maybe go for a walk and she knows that you both are in love and talk very beautifully... Then from middle of nowhere there might come a sentence which will make you a "prisoner".
Ladies want security but men want often good times/freedom and when good times end, ladies will be lucky if they have that marriage card. Ladies will get old and not desirable so it is hard for them to find someone like you again. I am divorcing myself and now I can do exactly what I want, when I want and just have good time with interesting ladies... Having dinners, interesting talks etc. So many interesting people around. Don't make yourself prisoner again. Just be honest to them and live interesting life. I always say at the first date that "I won't ever marry again".

I understand that fully but the new girlfriend is not Thai, so don't expect the same kind of anger issues based on her nationality and persona but I will make a note that you did warn me ?my girlfriend does not expect marriage, neither am I intending to marry her now. She is actually cool about the whole situation and tells me, if she doesn't want to divorce you I don't care.... I will be here for you anyway... so no added pressure there.
It does not matter is she Thai or other nationality. I have few questions... Do you pay your new girls dinners, drinks etc or do you share everything? Is she in the same level as education, work status?

I have been seeing this other girl ever since I met her and one day I want to marry her. My wife knows this and she refuses to let the kids come to my place and refuses to let them meet my girlfriend.
Seems like you are nice guy and I can relate to "she developed anger issues"... But you don't seem to understand that this new girl can turn to be the same like your current wife. So I try to make this clear for you -> DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE MARRYING EVER AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE @@!!!! Just don't do it and make it clear for your new girl(s) since the beginning.
Why you have to marry? It will only make things difficult. Ladies will pressure you but make it certain for her: "I will never marry again, is that ok?". If that is not ok for her, you explain that risks are too big. Marriage makes zero sense today. Atleast be with the new girl 10 years until making stupid decision about marriage. I warned and don't get here crying again later what happened again after you marry. Marriage can ruin your life. PERIOD!
Addition... Ladies have this switch type of behavior. It means that they can change in split second to a totally different person if things don't go their way. You cannot negotiate with them and they are masters controlling you emotionally.
-
I don't know what the solution is but this is another example that marriage is like Russian roulette. I feel for you. Because you have kids, you will be destroyed emotionally.
Was it your stupid idea to get married or?

Question. I have always done extension but there might be a case that I wont have time to do it so when I come back to Thailand with expired non o based on marriage, I will get 30 days with tourist status and I can just go to Savannakhet with required papers and will get the non on based o marriage?
And how does the multientry visa first year goes? I need to get out of the country every 90 days and when the year has passed I will get the extension? I have some memory that you can get even more than 1 year with the non o visa first year?

You will just need to show both passports on entry to use your re-entry permit in the old passport. The officer will stamp you into the country in the new one.
You will need to have the stamps transferred from your old passport to new one at your local immigration office before applying for the extension.
Thank you for the info. :)

Hi. I know this must be a topic discussed many times but we are in Thailand and things change so updated info would be nice.
I am in Thailand with Non o extension based on marriage (will expire on July 31st). I will travel to Finland (my home country) start of July and I need a new passport for next extension what I am planning on doing when I get back to Thailand end of July (just before the extension expires).
My plan is that I travel with my current passport and do a new passport in Finland. The old one will have all the extension and re-entry stamps. My question is that when I arrive in Thailand with my old passport and new passport, what I need to do? Do I need to be pro-active about anything or just show both passports and immigration officer handles the rest? After arriving with both passports I will go to the immigration anyway after 1 week or so to do the next extension.
Is there anything I need to be aware of making new passport overseas and come with old one with stamps? Old one is obviously not valid anymore when new passport is made.
Thanks for the answers.

it made my life a lot happier and easier
Yeah but still about 50% marriages will end to divorce. It is like flipping the coin. Marriage will bring things which will cost you a lot if/when you divorce. You are one of the lucky ones who want to settle with one lady for the rest of your life. I like freedom and possibility to do exactly what I want and when I want. I also like the fact that I was married because I would not appreciate things I have when I am free from marriage.

I hope my post won't be deleted. I am still married myself but I have been married 10 years and I am divorcing soon. I did pay the car, mainly the house loan (house is paid) etc. It will never get even when you will divorce. It is like flipping the coin will your marriage last but trust me with this: Marriage will never get better when years go by. Only divorce will feel better after years go by.
It is not today's practice to marry but I would not change a thing. Lived in a great country and got a perfect son. You will get a lot of benefits by marrying. Dowry is a thing to show and not lose too much face and everyone (even you) would love to have free money. In your case I would pay 30000b just to show some respect. Usually those old grandmas and grandpas talk about dowry. It is even possible that you just bring the money for show. It is the culture. If asked or talked about...respect it or don't marry.
When you see the TV series and movies about foreigners arriving into the village, it is like a lottery for them. Farangs mean better living and money. And if you are poor. You are poor. If you love children, you need a lady. You will love the kid more than anything but that lady will get less and less love and things will change. It did for me and I guess for many else. You cannot force that love but ladies will and men are stupid thinking marriage will make things easier in life.

Let her family guarantee loan in her name for 30 years and you pay the monthly like it would be rent. If your relationship is still ok after 3 years... you need to refinance the loan anyway every 3 years so you can pay more or nothing depending your situation.
As a loan/rent payer you will be valuable every month. If you pay the house full... you are not in strong situation.

Monday did not show any difficulties making Non O extension based on marriage.
13:30 Got 2 queue numbers for non o extension based on marriage and 90 days report and address change.
39 queue for Non o
112 queue for 90 days report and TM32 address change form
It took 1 hours 50 minutes waiting 112 persons for 90 days report and 2 hours 10 minutes waiting non o 39 persons queue. 90 days report and address change took 5 minutes. Just gave the forms and passport. Non o took total of 20 minutes. Luckily we had the sale contract of the new house we just moved in. They wanted copies of it. Did that and then few new forms. One was about understanding the penalties of overstay and other was about the extension.
Overall have to say that it was much easier and friendlier this year. 2.5 hours on Monday in and out is very good in my opinion.
There was one guy having some issues. Officer said you need to have money 2 months and it was 2 weeks still to go. Rules are rules and I can understand that guys disappointment... With proper paperwork I think everything will go just fine. Like I said, easier compared to last year when all this social media form hassle etc. was.

If you have a non-o visa based upon marriage issued by an embassy or consulate you do not need to do anything unless you have something you need to do at immigration.
If you have an extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon by marriage you could do the change of address at immigration when you do your next 90 day report. Bangkok immigration do not expect the reports to be done as soon as you move like other offices do.
Thanks. So my wife does not need to report anything to immigration? I will go and do 90 days report anyway that day sonI will change the address also.

Hi,
I will move to a new house/address inside Bangkok next Tuesday and go to immigration same day. Houde is in my wife's name. Is TM28 enough or/and what else do I need? Does my wife need to report/do anything?
I have non o extension and move inside Bangkok (not from different province).
Thanks for help in advance.

Sorry but you missed the point of my post.
I am paraplegic, so walking anywhere with or without shoes would be absolutely fantastic for me.
Did not know that. I think in your case people will understand.

OP get over it, i wish i could walk in any house with or without shoes.
That is the one thing in my life that i wish could happen.
Would you ask a permission in Thailand where it is common to sleep on the floors? Or just walk in because you can do it in your country or house? I am just talking about my experience about badly behaving farangs. We don't do it in Finland so I want to know where they do it so I can pass the info where these people come from... That way people can already teach people from these countries in advance that it is not polite. Thats all.

I find that hard to believe. Taking your shoes off in absolutely any culture I have experienced would be looked at as an act of respect, even if it is not social etiquette to do so. Also don't give that "rural" crap, there is dog shit on pavements in Manhattan and Central London... No this is just another case of Asian cultures being more clean than most Western cultures. Argue all you want, some things are done better in the East.
I think like you. I am from Finland and there everyone takes off their shoes. I find it rude to walk into a house with shoes on. Uneducated behavior if you do it in Thailand. People should learn the Thai culture better.

What has being in Thailand got to do with it. I set the rules for my house.
I know some Farang houses that don't have bum guns............ what would you make of that, being in Thailand ?
I am not talking about your house. I got bad feedback about badly behaving farang who went to a Thai house where older people sleep on the floor. Did not ask should he take shoes off just walked in. Should at least ask or know how to behave in Thailand.

In Canada only rurals and uneducated or no class people take off their shoes. I have been t houses with expensive persian rugs on the floor and people come into the house straight from the rain with shoes on. If you took your shoes off to go into those homes you would not be welcome back because you had no class. To take off your shoes is just not done. We leave that to other less refined people.
But you are in Thailand now... So it most likely was a Canadian who got this bad feedback? Any other countries?

Got some bad feedback of farangs walking into houses in Thailand with their shoes on without even asking should they take those off. I heard in some countries it is common but cannot think where? Maybe we should educate people who come from uneducated countries how to behave in Thailand?

I have made Non O based on marriage extensions past 7 years end of July but as I travel to home in Europe now pretty often (alone) that
1. Can I apply new marriage visa without 400000b in a bank account and all the other hassle while I am in Europe already in April even my extension of stay based on marriage end in end of July 2017.
2. As it has been already 7 years ago when I did a Non O visa. Has anything changed? As I remember I just had very simple paperwork compared what it takes to make the extension.
3. Is there a website where I can see what is needed for a new visa?
4. Do I need a new passport for the new visa and what happens to the extension if I apply new visa before it expires?
Thanks for your answers.

Just to let you all know that you may need to have a consent form done from a mother if you are leaving with your child/children without mother. My son has my surname and has two passports. We used of course Thai passport leaving Thailand.
What happened to me in December 14th. My wife took me and my son to the airport and we checked in. Hour later at the immigration guy asked where is the mother. I said she cannot make it to the trip because of work. Then they took me and my son to the other desk and lady asked my wife's phone number and demanded her to get back to the airport and do the consent form that she allows my son to leave the country. My wife was already other side of Bangkok and it was pretty pain in the ass to travel back to the airport.
I asked from the immigration why this was not mentioned before. They just said that they do this randomly. I understand this but did not know that you need to do this consent before the flight to make sure. I tried to ask also from them that does my wife need to be at the airport every time we leave the country. Did not get clear answer.
Seems like immigration is getting more and more tougher and tighter. Luckily my wife talked on phone enough at the end that she did not have to come to the airport. Immigration gave me a form I need to fill for next time leaving with a child under 15 years old. I attached the image of the form. I think I just had bad luck with the officer but make sure you have atleast mothers phone number when leaving with a child who has Thai mother.

I would not go by the or more side of it. Just mail it at the 15 days before point. As long as it gets to immigration 7 day before the report date it will be accepted at CW.
It is 15 day before or 7 days after for reporting in person.
Ok. This makes it more clear. I misunderstood. Next time I will send it 2 weeks before. Luckily they got it 7 days before. I will travel out from country in couple months. If I do not get the paper, I won't bother because I will get arrival stamp anyway.

If someone does an extension of stay based on marriage but have a condo in his name and stay there and wife is staying in different address, how complicated this will be from immigration point of view?
Or should they just take the photos together in front of the condo?
I do understand that in default married couples stay under same roof but some cases work or other circumstances can make things different.
Because the immigration is now giving fines not staying at the 90 days report address, this might be a question some people need an answer.

If your report was due on the 5th and you must mail 15 days or more before that date but was not received until the 28th it must have been a slow pony. At any rate they probably would not process until about the 5th so would not worry for a few more days.
I don't understand this 15 days or more? 15 days or more means 15 to how many days? I thought it needs to be there in that 15 days window = not earlier than 7 days and not later than 7 days from the due date.
Does 15 days or more really mean that I can send it like 1 month earlier? I don't get it.

It is very obvious here that wife got nuts and I know what it is like when those anger issues arrive. It is like hell to deal with a person like that. I am totally ThomasTT side in this case. It is that "Guys F things up" because "Ladies are just F'ed up". That is why never marry.
