it was a running joke around here for a while that what's needed is 400K cover with a 400K deductible!

guess they ran with it ????

That is similar to outpatient cover with a 40,000 baht deductible, i would imagine very few outpatient visits would come up to 40,000 baht so there's a good chance that it could never be cost effective to even make a claim.

Although i do recall reading somewhere with Pacific Cross that the deductible only has to be paid on the first claim so that any other claims within the year the deductible doesn't have to be paid.

When your 'friend' next needs to visit a hospital, I suggest she avoids all foreigners, even the doctors and nurses that would treat her.

She can wait for an 'English' doctor or an 'English' nurse. Not 'British' mind you. As no doubt if it weren't for the 'foreigners', you'd be having a go at the Scots and the Welsh and the Irish.

To be fair, at that particular hospital i'm sure the ratio of English patients to English doctors is a lot less than Foreign patients to Foreign doctors so perhaps your idea could be a winner for English people ????.

15,000 stabbings??!! I defy you to me the evidence. I'll accept any kind of statistic. Exactly the kind of person that I described earlier. Reading without understanding.

No doubt you are equating 'knife crime' with stabbings.

I actually visit all of those areas and more, even when dark(best time to do training when there is not much traffic polluting the air) and haven't witnessed any "township violence". Nor even any threatening behaviour.

You comments are beneath contempt. Your friend too sounds like a 'winner'. Birds of a feather and all that.

Sorry my mistake it wasn't nearly 15,000 stabbing's it was nearly 15,000 incidents of knife crime, so that obviously makes it ok then ????

London recorded the highest rate of 169 offences involving a knife per 100,000 population in 2018/19.

BBC analysis has revealed that London has 16 of the top 25 knife crime hot spots in England and Wales.

The data from 34 of the 43 police forces include crimes of assault, robbery, sexual offences, the threat to kill, attempted murder, or murder committed with a blade. The report comes as the capital looks set to see the murder rate surpass that of last year, which was already a decade-high level.Analysis in May by the London Assembly’s Conservatives claimed since Labour’s Sadiq Khan became mayor in 2016, the city has seen knife crime rise by 52 per cent.

I too live in London. I fancy myself as a bit of an explorer. Seeking out new places.

I've yet to discover these "black townships" and "African ghettoes". Where can I find them? Exact locations and I'll take a look for myself.

Township violence? Have you taken leave of your senses? More like kids being encouraged to attack each other.

Apart from a few idiots stabbing each other, you'll see more violence in a city centre up north after a night of drinking.

I fail to understand why you brought Grenfell into it. That had more to do with the policies of that particular council, who also failed to heed the repeated warnings given by the Residents Association, that a tragedy was imminent.

Do you think they were all sitting on their backsides? No doubt many had low paid jobs and there were others who owned their apartments.

Immigrants fuel the wealth of the "comparatively wealthy western nations". They do the jobs that the people already there don't want to do.

See how the country would fare, if all of the 'immigrants' got up and left. Where would we draw the line as to who should leave?

Immigrants who arrived within the past five years? Ten years? Fifty years?

It's a well worn theme to blame the newest wave of immigrants for the ills of the country.

On the one hand one could blame the Poles for undercutting the Brits and doing a better job. On the other, thank goodness we have hard working people who will do the job at a reasonable price.

If you don't have the willing labour, you have to put up with idiots holding you to ransom. Maybe turning up for work, maybe not.

A sense of entitlement. Enraged when someone else comes along, offering to do the job for much less and happy to live five to a small apartment in order to save money for a better life.

Same thing happens around the world. That's why you have Burmese, Laotian, Cambodians going to work in Thailand.

    Things don't stay the same.

That's possibly why you loved Thailand. it took you back to more simple days. Unfortunately, the same thing has occurred there too. Changing policies affect us all.

Blaming immigrants for your ills isn't the way forward. Some are good for the country and some are not.

Black township and African ghettoes? Listen to yourself man. You are totally out of touch.

I went past a Territorial Army base the other day. Almost every single young person who filtered out was black. Very many looked African, to my eyes.

So they, at some point, could be fighting for your/their country.

Have some respect for yourself, rather than to repeat, parrot fashion, some nonsense from the likes of The Sun, Daily Express, Telegraph et al.

I went to school with Africans and Caribbeans. Their families are more conservative and education aware than anyone you are likely to meet.

But if choose to believe that a few drug dealing idiots is all their is, you are doing them and yourself, an injustice.

Don't join the ranks of the ignorant. There are idiots of every nationality.

Not so much "black townships" and "African ghettoes", but certainly areas where you will see very few English people. If you disagree that there are such areas then i suggest you get out of your bubble and have a good look around areas such as Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Walthamstow, etc and various areas in South London, but obviously not after dark.

If you think nearly 15,000 stabbings in London (2018/2019) is a few idiots then perhaps you need to look at yourself in view of this comment.

See a recent conversation i had with a friend awaiting a hospital appointment, " i hope they don't send me to North Midd hospital, i can't stand  going their with all of them foreigners walking around spitting everywhere" suggest you pay it a visit to confirm what she ses.

More down to players not wanting to be there, players who are there injured or not fit, players who came in injured or not settled and a keeper who is proned to errors. Most of all lack of confidence.

I also read read that he lost some of the dressing room after Champions league final when he played half fit Harry over Moura who effectively got them there.

    All gossip of course.....

Perhaps,as i use to get about a bit anyway where have i mentioned your wife ? ???????? and yes i have met plenty of others who follow their husbands / boyfriends teams, but while you mention your wife, did she support City before you met her ?  she obviously has an opinion on Gundogen strange as it is similar to your opinion but obviously she hasn't heard you voice opinion ????

...when you have no argument to make.

Alfie, not once have City or City's fans EVER, I repeat, EVER professed to being a European great. We have however been pretty decent in England over the past 8 years or so.

Interestingly i read an article recently that made the point that the reason Pep's (messi-less) teams don't win the CL is because they are built to dominate possession and games which is fine for winning leagues but means they don't react so well in cup competitions when one suckerpunch against the run of play can be enough to knock a team out of the cup.

Where did i say they did ?  just making the point that if City want to be considered as a European great then they will have to win the CL.Lets face it, all the great teams over the years have been CL winner's.

Pretty decent in England !!! exactly that is not Europe is it ?

  11. 43 minutes ago, BangrakBob said:

So the team that wins the World Cup may as well give their medals to the number 1 ranked team in the World that year if they are not number 1? And we should not consider them the best in the World if they win the World Cup?

Don't know why your bothering with them Bob, we all know it is sour grapes because they have never got close to winning it, you'd think they would be all over winning it as it is the only trophy they haven't won plus being the biggest trophy in club football, like i have already said, no team goes down as a European Great without winning it.

How so? Are you saying Liverpool were the best team in Europe last season because they won the CL? If you are then it must follow that liverpool as the best team in europe must therefore have been the best team in England. But liverpool got knocked out of the FA cup and the Carabao cup at the third round, came 2nd in PL, and only took 1 out of 6 points in the PL from the team that won ALL 4 trophies in England (for the 1st time ever). So i don't agree.

Think it's fair to say also that in some years the team that won the CL were not the best team in the competition and therefore  couldn't have been the best team in Europe.

I'll repeat to what i already said and what you didn't comment on

    Quote

anyway until you win the CL your never going to be up there with the greats of Europe so best you get a move on

which proves to the prestige of winning the CL.

  13. 28 minutes ago, Bredbury Blue said:

We/I can only tell you of my/our/City fans' in general preference, but go ahead ManU and Liverpool chip in with your personal opinion and that of your fans in general.

Can't talk for others but for me the reason isn't  anything to do with because City won the PL/City haven't won the CL, it's to do with winning the PL to me means more, it shows over 38 games you WERE the best team in England that season and that's a nice feeling. Winning the CL doesn't reflect that you were the best team in Europe that season. I also relate to and enjoy more beating rival english clubs than i do beating teams i barely know in europe. Perhaps if they revamped the CL to be the best 2 teams in say the top 6 european  leagues playing in a league format then the winner of that probably would reflect the best team in that CL league and European  football; the current group stages then a knockout format does not necessarily reflect the winner being the best team in europe.

It certainly reflects being the best team in Europe more so than winning the Premier league does, anyway until you win the CL your never going to be up there with the greats of Europe so best you get a move on ????

Pep was saying the other day that MCFC had had some research done, which confirmed that City fans would much prefer winning the PL to the CL - just as you and i have been saying on the forum for donkey's.

Of course your going to say that because you have never won the CL or even got close, why not ask Man U or Liverpool supporters what they prefer.

  15. Let's hope Poch doesn't persist with the diamond formation, leaves us much too open especially when you are not playing with a proper def mid player, to be fair can get away with it against the lesser teams but not against top quality teams.

  16. 12 hours ago, mrbojangles said:

We are the fans Ronnie, so it's us who decide and its a matter of opinion. If I had to choose only one i'd sooner win the Prem than the CL. What's your choice?

Well the CL has better teams and more prestige, lets face it any old team can be in the PL.

    Yeah Alfie,

Agree with Dier's inclusion, only if he can return the form

he had 3 seasons ago when he was used as a

DM, and when our FB's pushed up, he would drop back into

    a back 3 inbetween Toby & Jan.

I recall we had the best defensive record in the league

playing that system, Poch still has nearly all the players

that he had back then, apart from the RB spot.

So he can use it, but  i don't think Poch can trust Dier or Wanyama atm for the EPL matches due to their lack of

playing time and injuries of late.

Bit of a catch 22 as obviously to get playing time they need to play, perhaps Dier can get up to speed playing in the next few easier PL games we have and hopefully won't be too detrimental to the team.

  18. I seem to recall at one stage last season i had to come on here and calm everyone down and explain that everything would turn out ok, well it seems to be that stage again, players being unhappy, players being injured, players not getting sold have all construed to make Poch miserable and pretty downbeat especially at his press conferences so after yesterdays presser lets hope things are on the up, for all the doom and gloom we haven't lost a game a game by more than one goal, we've drawn away with the <deleted> and City without even playing well and are still sitting at 7th in the league above Utd and the chavs.

Nearly a full squad to choose from tomorrow which is a bonus, expect to see us go on a bit of a run to relieve the doom and gloom and the thus reduce the number of posters coming on here to have a pop.

One team change i would make is to bring Dier back, the amount of goal's we are conceding especially away from home ses we need to change something defensively, Dier (DM) with his aggression, nous and leadership might add some solidity.

No, it's both of them, replacing Zidane @ RM and

replacing OGS @ Man Utd is just a continuation from

last year and the year before that and the year before etc etc...

The 2 biggest clubs in world football are continually being

linked with a manager who is continually being criticised for never winning anything?

Can he succeed where Mourinho failed at Man Utd?

Can he manage all the superstars at RM when he's moaning

about a couple of Spurs players not signing new contracts

    and causing an unsettled squad?

A part of me actually wants him to go, just to end all this

speculation, cos he is partly causing the speculation himself

as it's not going to end at any time either until he does eventually leave.

As much as i rate Poch, and what he's done at Spurs, there's

a point where enough is enough, and the fans will start to

turn on him with the way he's been managing since Jan this

    year.

To be fair to Poch, he seems to like everyone pulling in the same direction / a good team spirit and a few players who he perhaps felt were detrimental to this are still at the club which is probably no fault of his own and is perhaps another reason he is <deleted> off.
