  1. Sam, Bob's alright and i don't think he meant any great offense. Anyways, your opinions are your own, regardless whether one disagrees with them or not and your are very welcome on here.

Appreciate that carmine, but you do realise this is the same nutter you told to go <deleted> himself a few days back.

I didn't know they were one of the same.

The new season can't come quick enough!!

Considering that was his 1st post, they couldn't have been one of the same carms, fark me, Bob gets more like an old woman every day laugh.png

  2. Asked by The Mail on Sunday about Arsenal’s Premier League prospects for the new season, which kicks off next Saturday, the Irish assistant manager issued a withering put down.

‘There’s too many Arsenal players interested in selfies and six-packs,’ said a scornful Keane.

‘Instead of focusing on winning Premier League titles, it’s all about how their bodies look, how their hair is, more so than winning football matches.’

‘They’ve lots of good players, good characters who roll their sleeves up, just not those who are trying to get their pictures [taken] every day of the week, selfies. Selfies will hold them back’ added the former United firebrand. Ouch.

  3. Hi Jellydog, firstly let me apologise if I have done something wrong on the TV forum…. yes I am just a new member, and have never even put up a post, however have been reading the threads on TV for many years.

I was reading through the posts going back and forth on the tottenham thread that day and having a laugh and giggle to myself…

I was watching the posts that Mr. Evenstevens was putting up and the slang he was using.. He seemed to have a very in-depth knowledge of the EPL and the management running side of things…. In particular with regards to Mr Levy (His 4 x 2 Comment)….

This is and Australian and Cockney slang…. Whether it has a place on this forum it is not up to me to decide….

However in regards to the EPL I must confess I am certainly no expert… Which is why I have never commented and just enjoyed reading the different threads….

All of the above aside I was really taken back by your comment of “Keep your eye out for ChiangMaiSam now”… As all I did was hit the “Like” button…. I did not even put a post up or get involved in the posts going back and forth…

I thought the idea of these type of forums was for all members to have a chance to express their opinions, however as a newbie I am now very hesitant to put forward any view that I would have, as all I did was hit the “Like” button…

I found your stinging, Keep your eye out comment, very offensive, threatening and un called for…. As I can assure you I certainly meant no malice…

I hope the above info clarifies why I hit the “Like” button, and again apologise if I have acted inappropriately..

And lastly “BEST OF LUCK TO ALL TEAMS” for the kick off of the new EPL season in a few more days time…

Yes unfortunately thats how pathetic it is getting on here nowadays, you get certain posters on here who to take a dislike to other posters purely because they don't actually like what that particular poster is saying and they then have the "you liked his post " so your also a threat mentality, all very childish if you ask me whistling.gif

What's pathetic is you being mugged off by this guy. Oh and you speak of childish, go have a look at half your posts on the football forum, they amount to replies that don't even include a reply just multiple emoji's.

Mugged off !!!!! if your idea of being mugged off is someone calling our chairman a 4 x 2 then i think you need to get out a bit more Bob, perhaps you need to out of your little scouser bubble and go and see what the real world is like laugh.png

  5. Pedestrian match that.

Coutinho looks sharp and ready, that was the best thing about that match, that and Jordon Ibe. Doubters take note, the name is Ibe.

Lallana is starting to look like the player we bought.

Clyne for 12.5M was a steal.

Gomez should start instead of Moreno next week, and 3.5M for him was a steal.

Milner on a free was a steal.

Ings as plan B is money well spent.

Aside the 2 big transfer fee arrivals we haven't seen in Red yet, we've done alright in the summer. Fair do's "Committee".

    cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

  6. plus if De Gea went wouldn't you then need to sign another keeper ?
No we have Lindergard and the young keeper Sam Johnstone who is a excellent prospect.

Now your saying "we have another keeper Cillisten in the pipe line",

    facepalm.giffacepalm.giffacepalm.giffacepalm.gifbiggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png

  7. Well that wasn't great, Dier did play the def mid role but seemed a bit out of place, Alli was the only one who stood out for me but nothing out of the ordinary, kane could have had another couple and thats about it coffee1.gif

  8. Another signing?

500K for that Allan lad, worth a punt considering the fees thrown about for potential these days.

Maybe a left back if Gomez is not going to be used there too much, certainly think we need an alternative to Moreno when we really need a defensive set up. Think we still need a quality defensive mid. And I'd swap Lovren for any centre half for sale at this stage.

Fark me, you've bought 14 players this season and last and your saying you still need a def mid whistling.gif

  9. Well that Chiriches gone. Lord alone knows what some football scout saw in him but there you go.

read this morning that Pochettino is experimenting with a back two in midfield of Bentaleb with Dier holding. Maybe this is the reason we have no links to a defensive midfield. either way, Dier continues to look like a very shrewd investment.

Yep definitely looks like we will be playing with a midfielder who's job it is to solely protect the back 4, so perhaps that is Dier until we get somebody in, hopefully it won't be long term as in my opinion it is a role suited to someone more experienced.

Saying that Dier did start off his career in that position for Sporting so not entirely new to him.

Anyway perhaps we will see tomorrow.

  10. On the clubs web site so confirmed, the signing of Argentinian keeper Sergio Romero on a free

Quite a coup and a meet up with his old boss LVG

60 full internationals,28 years old, 6ft 3" ,3 yr contract with option, sound like a great signing.

Already In San Jose and with the team, that was quick.

Couldnt imagine he's come as a number 2 so De Gea must be on his way

Wouldn't say that means that necessary Sparks, any top class professional would be prepared to fight for the no.1 spot plus there's the little factor of probably being on about 4 times what he was on at Sampdoria plus the signing on fee whistling.gif plus if De Gea went wouldn't you then need to sign another keeper ?

    Correct.

  12. Personally I think their pricing is very reasonable. You have every Premier League game there on catch up for 7 days and the rugby world cup coming up in October, I am also hoping their coverage of the UFC might change to being live with the new premium channels.

ILikeHDTV is a decent enough service but you have to remember that everything is live and so if the connection decides to be a bit shitty and trust me most of the time you are going to fiddling around with buttons a couple of times a match you are going to be missing stuff in the game.

By the way in case people don't realize, 365 is a pay as you go service, you don't have to sign up to 6 month or 12 month deals.

I am tempted by this 6 month offer but personally I think they should give people a few days trial of the new premium package to see if its worth the extra bit of money.

    They did and it was.

  13. sumrit, thanks for that information - I will go and look at that site. I suppose 6000 baht for this next year is not bad really, as it will include the European Championships as well.

Digitalbanana, thanks, it looks like ILikeHDTV is well worth a look.

farmerjo, I hope you are Australian otherwise if you are English like me, you may be in for some depressing viewing:-)

Edit: I just subscribed to ILikeHDTV and it seems a really good package - the football and all the other stations for 250 baht a month. I have not taken out a package yet though. Does it show ALL the Premier matches???

Yes it does show all the games.

If you want to watch The Ashes you will have to subscribe to the UK TV package.

Incorrect, you can watch it on the above package (World Sport TV (30 Day) - All countries Sport channels) for 250 baht.

  15. Kevin De Bruyne has been named Player of the Year in Germany after beating Arjen Robben and Manuel Neuer to the prize.De Bruyne, 24, was voted as the Bundesliga's top player by the nation's journalists after a stunning season to help Wolfsburg finish as runners-up to champions Bayern Munich.

Shouldn't that be posted on the German Bundesliga thread facepalm.gifbiggrin.png

  16. Well a decent start to the Emirates Cup.

Lyon are a CL team and put out a full side, and it was obvious from some of the challenges coming in that they weren't taking it lightly, but in truth we played them off the lush Ashburton turf.

Ollie opened the scoring with a text book header from a cross in the 29th minute.

The Ox rampaging down the wing blasted across the keeper from the right in the 34th.

Iwobi's first time far post strike in the 35th left the keeper helpless (he's Jay Jay Okocha's nephew and Wenger rates him very highly by all accounts).

Ozil slid in a peach of a pass for Ramsey to nip in and toepoke past the keeper on 38.

4-0 at half time and expected a less energetic second half, which also featured appearances from Akpom, Hairteta, Santi, Theo, Hayden and Reine Adelaide.

But Ozil got on the score sheet on the hour with a great shot across the keeper from the left.

And Santi flummoxed the Lyon wall by shaping to curl a free kick over them, instead of which he paused slightly and smashed a daisycutter into the bottom corner instead, after they nicely jumped out of the way of the ball.

A pleasing performance, the side look settled and the replacements slotted in seamlessly.

Lyon had a few half chances, but when they did Martinez was up to the job.

I think Cech might play tomorrow, since Chezza appears to be off to Italy, where apparently no-one has told that Chezza is easier to say than his real name.

Looks like another year finishing above the pub team up the road.

Posting on here is a bit like talking to yourself chics biggrin.png

  17. The old saying 'form is temporary, class is permanent'

Applies to both Kompany and Mangala.

Vinnie had a bad year last year, but you dont suddenly become a bad player overnight. Personally I put it down to his injuries and him not having recovered properly. He was making very un Kompany like challenges, I think down to him trying to protect his hammy.

Mangala, although we overpaid for him, is a very good player. It was his first season in the Premier league. He has to come on for that first season.

We have Demichelis who is ever dependable and Denayer who is a rising star. We dont need to waste money on a new CB. We are more than covered. Left back, yes because neither Clichy or Kolarov are good enough.

I hope you are right about the centre-back situation JnD !

'form is temporary class is permanent' JD!

I agree to a degree but injuries and age catch up with you and I think most city fans will agree that both are catching up with the once great Kompany he will not get any faster or fitter than he was at his best and yes your defence struggled last season. Jellydogs concerns are well justified and for me just like United you need an experienced quality centre half.

I like Kolarov but he will be exposed even more this season as Sterling will defo not put in the covering that Milner did.....in fact you will miss Milner more than you think.

As much as it hurts to agree with a red, great post, and one that shows that you know a little about us.

I think Kompany for several years was able to use his great strength and speed to overcome most situations, but maybe he's realising that that edge he had over opponents is reducing as he ages and his speed and mobility decreases. Maybe.

Kolorov ended last season well and 2 years ago he had a decent season but his lack of pace makes him vulnerable. Milner was brilliant at covering his fullback, right or left, and will be a huge loss.

Ps. Alfie Conn's comments about Milner show his lack knowledge of Milner's standing in our team, squad and with the City fans who really appreciated him. Good luck to you Jimmy!

Back to the original thread by MrRed on City's defense and Kompany and Kolorov in particular (before AlfieConn hijacked it with his comments on ex-City Milner and ex-Spurs Bale).

Not so good for the fans at the tour games to see some City 1st team players and kots of City youngsters, but I'm really pleased Pellegrini is taking these opportunities to watch our young lads alongside the established players with a view to who's ready to step up.

Hijacked cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif sorry but i thought this was an open forum.

And back to the thread on City (not ex-City player).

I take it that your directing that comment at red as he was the one who first mentioned him.

  18. I actually think CTH are great biggrin.png what other Satellite Co would give you free viewing for 13 months whistling.gif

Typical spurs fan on the rob.

Someone once said to me " would you buy a second hand car from someone out of the East End" i said " i wouldn't even buy a new car from someone out of the East End " biggrin.png

  20. Alfie, think you forgot to post your answer to my question.

All the eleven, my opinion of course whistling.gif

None of them, my opinion of course.

Actually i think your right, if Milner was at Spurs he'd be our best player sad.png

  21. Benteke's a very good striker. Caused us nightmares up at Villa. But unless Rodgers has a plan to change your game to suit him he'll be left in no man's land so i'll reserve judgement until we see what he does but it doesn't bode well to me and unless Rodgers makes this signing work it may well be his downfall.

Put simply, he's a better version of Lambert. A very good powerful target but he can't pass. Few of his strengths mould in with Rodgers philosophy and its going to be a case of Liverpool having to adapt to him to make it work. Can't be right. He's not good enough to have a side adapted to him.

Its be tried before and failed and i see little rational to suggest a better version will make that much of a difference. To keep trying the same thing over again when its failed is madness!!

I'll summarise how this translates in Northern English

    Benteke good

    Benteke real good against us

    Benteke bad for you

I'm not saying Benteke good or bad yet

Benteke could be bad for you

    Benteke <deleted>

    Benteke strong

Benteke only good in Benteke team

    Benteke <deleted>

    Benteke is <deleted> Andy Carroll

How many Bentekes before you realise?

I wish Bob wouldn't post when he's pissed.

Afternoon Bobby, hows the head ? biggrin.png
