  1. i live in bangkok. its a crazy city. i've got a house at hua hin. its nice there but traffic can be a pain. A friend lives at prachuap khiri khan. its a nice sleepy town on the beach and has nice beach places close to it such as pranburi to the north and bang saen to the south. i'd say its like hua hin was like maybe 15-20 years ago. rayong might be woth considering. its close to pattaya but far enough away. koh samet is a ferry ride away. i've been to chiang mai a couple of times. its not a place i'd consider living at because its getting crazy traffic wise. chiang rai i like.

So you live in Bangkok but you wouldn't consider living in CM because it's getting crazy traffic wise facepalm.gif

  2. I moved Chiang Mai years ago but the traffic is now a nightmare and you can't move for Chinese. Is there somewhere better within Thailand? I think not but if the Philippines had the infrastructure and the security I'd be there not here but it doesn't so it's academic. Live outside the city and Chiang Mai still has tons to offer and, in my view, beats the other Thai cities hands down but perfection? only in the dreams of romantics and idealists.

I doubt if the OP is going to live in tourist areas so shouldn't affect him.

  3. Right then lads I'll catch you in the summer....once Rodgers stain is wiped clean

Strange facepalm.gif i always thought it was the Transfer committee biggrin.png

Anyway Bob, i didn't have you down for a Flip Flop whistling.gif

Well Rodgers agreed to sign and they paid stupid money.

To be honest, the missus popped out another sprog, and we just moved country again. No tv, no internet (except phone)..I didn't even see the match (first missed in 5 years). I will be back to moan, insult and annoy youse once settled thumbsup.gif

    Well done Bob 1f44d.png

  4. can't believe we lost that to the worst, most alehouse united side i've seen in about thirty years. we played alright in the main but just have no cutting edge at all. yeah we miss sturridge and even ings and origi but our midfield's goal threat and goal return are a joke. lot of work for klopp to do in the summer when he gets to pick his own players.

van gaal though has had three and a half transfer windows at united and so that long ball to fellaini's head crap seems to be the way he actually wants to play. no wonder united fans are complaining about the style of football, it's awful.

Stevie I feel your pain, I have seen better united sides go to an field and lose, by the way I was not impressed with Liverpool's kick n rush football either, we looked a lot better in the 2nd half and Martial was a constant threat.

IMO Klopp has a fairly decent squad to work with when they are all fit.

A damn good manager who will likely make two or three critical signings in the summer and we'll all see a much better Liverpool side.

The best signing of the year probably is Klopp.

Well after Delle Alli of course! biggrin.png

It's always difficult to get good signings in though smokes when your not in Europe sad.pnglaugh.png

  6. Did you fall asleep at half time?

No I went in the kitchen and made some chip butties.

So you went for the healthy option ? sad.png

Yes I was trying to recreate being at the match like days gone by,I'd have had 6 pints before the game and a pie at half time, have you been to a premier league ground recently, not a salad in sight at the half time snack bars.

Oh forgot to add the Indian curry on the Barking road after the game washed down with a few bottles of cobra.

I use to always have a Bagel when i went to the Lane biggrin.png

  7. You aren't going to get it for noticeably less at any private hospital.

Several TV members have had joint replacements done at military hospitals, which are usually of good quality and less expensive than private hospitals. Since a big part of the cost is the artifical implant which is an imported device, won't be as cheap as other procedures would be, but still perhaps half of private rate. There isn't one in Phuket but there is a Naval hospital in Phang Nga, suggest you try there. I assume they will treat civilians, most military hospitals will.

The other thing you might consider is going to India. This is their specialty and there is a brisk medical tourism business for knee and hip replacements there. Even inclusive of travel will cost much less than here.

Second hand will probably save the OP a few bob rolleyes.gif

  8. ^I find it funny that some on these forums seem to think City's acadamy is a stick to beat us with...it's not. If we discover a few diamonds we can use or sell on great, but we'll continue to buy regardless.

Yep so finally you admit what we all know the academy means little or nothing to you. Its obvious it means jack sh+-t to the club,, but the fans thinking that,, that's different

    Wrong!

The acedemy means the same now as it's always done; the training ground for our young players to come through. The difference since 2008 is we don't have to rely on our youngsters anymore to come through. I get enormous pride in our youth team getting through to the FA Youth cup final and doing well in the European competition. We just don't make a song and dance about our youth/academy like some I know.

    ]

Because as we have been discussing for many post's you have nothing to make a song and dance about gigglem.gif

  9. B. I think it only applies to the Premier League so did the 3 debut in the league ?

    - i didn't produce the Wiki page, go read the details, they are thwre.

I wondered why you didn't answer, now i know why.

Anyway, no they didn't, in fact none of them even made full debuts, not even in the Mickey Mouse cup.

George Evans and Manu Garcia debutted for City vs Sunderland on Tuesday 22 September 2015, 7:45PM Stadium of Light Capital One Cup

Bersant Celina made his debut in Saturday 09 January 2016, 3:00PM at Carrow Road Att:22,000 FA Cup.

Nacho obviously also debutted this season.

Believe it was a on that Wiki page.

Yep none in the league and all as subs, impressive.

  11. Potential to move into a champions league slot today if Spurs get turned over or draw with Sunderland who are going into the early kickoff at the lane on the back of a good win.

Would like to think we can turn Newcastle over at 3pm.

The result of the Spurs game early doors could be a potential catalyst for our lads.

    Irons Irons.

You need to be in a Champions league spot at the end of the season, being in one today doesn't get you anywhere laugh.png

As you know oh so well, the team that nearly finish fourth.

Exactly so that's why i'm pointing it out to you biggrin.png

  12. ^just on academies, I think they have 2 purposes, to try and bring through talent you can use and to try and bring through players you can sell...Chelsea seem to be the UK leaders based on FA Youthcup talent and young talent in, loaned or sold.

Correct, so i don't know why your talking about Chelsea because they haven't done a lot of either recently.

  13. ^A. I didn't produce the chart. - Noted

    B. I think it only applies to the Premier League so did the 3 debut in the league ?

    C. It ses signed before they were 17 so as i stated, Kelechi doesn't apply and to be fair i cannot see how you can say that he came through your academy as he didn't sign proper until his 18th birthday. - I followed your lead and didn't include Kelechi. Also it was the table you posted and the wiki page that says Kelechi is classed as academy player.

    D. Re Terry, it doesn't take in to regard when they made there debut, just who's played this season. - No it didn't make that distinction, I did to show that since 1998 Terrys debut, we have been producing talent pre-money and post-money days..

Anyway i'm not too sure why your so concerned about your academy because as you said "In football the richer clubs have always been able to buy in" - I'm not concerned about our academy, you raised it. City are very comfortable with our academy, go ask ManU about it ;-)

    B. i didn't ask you if you produced the Wiki page and being as you watch all the games i thought you might know if they debuted or not !

    C. You did include Kelechi, you said " 4 players including Kelechi have debutted", the table i posted as i stated was incorrect as it was players who signed before 17 years old and obviously what wiki 's criteria is for an academy player is not the same as the chart i posted, incidently in your view did Kelechi come through your academy ?

    D. It didn't need to, it said " For this analysis an academy graduate is a player who signed before his 17th birthday without making senior appearances for another club " i would have thought that was self explanatory !

  15. ^Alfie that table you added above as I understand it, shows players at a club this season who came through that club's academy. It includes John Terry who made his debut for Chelsea in 1998.

Since 1998 our academy has produced 49 (or 48 if you want to exclude kelechi) players who have debuted for City.

This season, 4 players including Kelechi have debutted.

Other academy players make the bench but don't get lucky enough to debut...Maffeo came close in the past week but has now gone out on loan to Spain, Humphreys is another in the past week..

There will be other players who didn't debut for City but are professional footballers elsewhere.

The FA youth cup final is a good indicator of the health of a clubs youth status. We've been in the final twice in the past decade including last season (Spurs?).

    Ok?

  16. ^Because you state "think your a bit behind the times BB as vinyl is getting more and more popular in the UK", when I'm talking about kids on a Thailand forum. How many houses in Thailand have a record player? Do they sell recods or record players in Thailand? My kids, and I'll bet virtually every kid in their school here has never seen a record yet. They understand when I talk about album but they ain't seen one. And yes in the last month jack white has opened a record shop (with it's own record pressing section) in the states and I understand people are buying them again (personally I don't know why...getting up every 20 minutes to turn em over vs cds/mp3s).

Stop backtracking, the T shirt originally shown was produced in England and you said "Lot of youngsters wouldn't get that that's supposed to be a record player" so being as the T shirt was made in England whats that got to do with Thai kids on a Thailand forum ? incidentally how many Thai kids do you think come on this forum if that is what you are getting at ?

And yes they do sell records and record players in Thailand, rolleyes.gif

  17. The prem should have something stipulating that there should be xx amount of appearances and x amount of squad places for players at a cost of? Points ,, money

No European football ? Not sure what, but 'ah well were doing our best we've spent ??? On academies' Ain't working. For football good zero and 2 ect participants just can't be allowed to carry on

You'll be saying we should have the Draft next. ;-)

In football the richer clubs have always been able to buy in and the poorer teams use their academies (reserve team as was)...hence Sunderland bought and were known as the Bank of England club in the 50s...It's nothing new folks.

    .

Seems strange that, because Bj and Mystic have continually gone on about how your academy will start producing players ( mind you that's been approx 3 yrs and still not one to be seen) so judging by what your saying why do you bother having an academy ?

  18. Seems my comment hasn't been understood.on kids not being acquainted with a record player. As an aside, my kids a year or so back saw somebody in a movie DIALING a phone number and were so shocked by that sight they asked me what's he doing. I'm sure I could add several instances of kids not being aquainted with old technology we grew up with as the norm. Hopefully you finally get my point on the tshirt design above.

Why do you say that your comment hasn't been understood ?

  19. ^ Christ you're intelligent...Wot TF else could it be?facepalm.gif

On the subject of music, Jurgen reckons Fergie was the John Lennon of football!....I make him right, as the Beatles were crap after he left!smile.png

"What else could it be"...my point was and is, try asking a kid, I'd be amazed if they'd seen a record player let alone know what one does.

I think your a bit behind the times BB as vinyl is getting more and more popular in the UK, see this from the Independent For many of us, a house isn’t a home without a record player. The ongoing resurgence of record labels re-pressing your favourite LPs and 45’s – vinyl sales are now at a 15-year high - as well as new releases, means there are tons of new record players on the market for affordable prices. .

  20. Depending on what way the authorities play it regarding technology, it could mean the whole way of refereeing will have to change and refs will have to make a lot less decisions during the game, a hell of a lot of thought will have to go into it and it will be a lot more difficult more than people realize.
