Many thanks for the info guys ????
By visa exempt you mean tourist Visa / just turn up?

Hi,
Here's my situation, my wife and kid are in Thailand and I've booked a flight to go there on 2nd April, I'm currently in the UK.
I'm planning to stay a bit longer than 3 months and was wondering if there's enough time for me to get a non immigrant o visa or shall I just enter with a tourist visa and try to extend?
Or can I enter with a tourist visa and then apply for non o visa?
Many thanks

Hi, quick question actually (sorry about that, it's slightly different subject but related): the Thailand pass website doesn't mention any requirement for a COVID test PRIOR to departure, is it not needed at all? I will be traveling from the UK. Many thanks

Hi,
Just bumbed into the article below, seems like a new visa has miraculously popped up yesterday:
I checked with Visa authorities (Smart Visa team) and they gave me the info below:
There are 2 sub-categories for Work-From-Thailand Professional in LTR visa 1.Digital Nomad 2.Corporate Programme
- details about qualifications etc are still being finalised but:
-Qualifications - Have health insurance from an accredited insurance company covering medical expenses of $100,000 or more throughout the duration of the visa. - Personal income (salary, investment income, etc.) at least $80,000 per year for the past 2 years or $40,000 per year if graduated with a master's degree or higher / Possess Intellectual Property / Receive Series A funding.
Required proof/documents For Digital Nomad - Company listed on the stock exchange, or - A private company that has been operating for at least 3 years and has gross revenue of more than 150 million USD in the last 3 years. For Corporate Programme - Have experience working with any company with annual revenue > $1 billion
Hope this helps anyone.
Cheers

Get a free trial with a VPN and see if it helps, also try with your 4g connection (set up a hotspot from your mobile), that way you can rule out the connection excuse
From what you describe though it's probably your supplier's server that's too busy ie too many users..

On the positive side at least he will collect air miles..

Hi, there's an app called 'live TV soccer' which, as well as the scores, lists all the worldwide channels broadcasting each game. If you use a VPN you can just switch country and watch on other free to air channels etc. Might be in a foreign language but better than buffering.. also useful if you use IPTV with lots of countries (the game was on supersport for instance)

Re: Axa policy.. Looking at the policy this is more for kidnappings and I'm not sure it would cover this.. according to Thai law this wouldn't be a wrongful detention ..

They cancelled our flights at the begining of the pandemic and we never got any refund. They are going bankrupt apparently, so I would book with another airline .. if they go burst you will not get your money back

Hi, is the full list of 'safe' countries published or will it be confirmed later? I can't seem to find it.. I'm currently in the UK but I can't see the UK staying on the list as we are getting more than 40k cases per day...
I'm thinking of transiting via another country if needed as I suspect the UK will get dropped soon. I'm planning to travel in December..
Thanks ????

Hi,
My wife is Thai and I am planning to transfer to Thailand as the company where i work has an office there and they are quite open about it. I would be applying myself for work permit etc and wanted to know how long the process would take (after getting my non-immigrant visa to Thailand) ? it says it can vary by office, for instance about 2 months in Pukhet and a few days in BKK... has anyone done it from Chachoengsao office?
Many thanks

Hi,
I'm currently working for a global organisation with an office in Thailand ; I've been talking to them about transferring there and i'm trying to work out how much tax I would be paying. I found a couple of tax calculators (e.g. https://www.icalculator.info/thailand.html) e.g. https://home.kpmg/xx/en/home/insights/2021/09/thailand-taxation-of-international-executives.html
I wanted to know if there was any additional tax to pay at all or that's it?
Many thanks + Best Wishes ????

I have a Lenovo Yoga and very happy with it. It's a 2 in 1 and the hinges are quite strong (it can be a problem with other brands) ; the overall build quality is very good as is the screen etc. Very light also

I use voipdiscount, they are cheap. Quality is not always perfect but most of the time it's good enough, especially for landlines. If you need to key in digits like when you ring customer service it also works.
Landline calls are free and calls to mobile cost 15 pence

You would still need some Thai employees for a work permit. If it's a partnership limited with your wide you only need two, and your wife can be on of them, and 1 million baht in registered capital; if it's a normal company limited with 3 shareholders you need 4 Thai employees, and 2 million baht in registered shareholder capital.
For taxation income tax might be better than paying company tax and dividend tax for the first 2 million baht, i.e. up to 25 percent income tax with the full rate only from 1,000,001 baht to 2,000,000 baht. Salary is deducted as expense from the company's profit.
Company tax is 20 percent - 30 percent if the company has a lot of profit - and dividend tax is 10 percent, so "salary" paid out as dividend will be "income taxed" by 28 percent (i.e. 100 minus 20% = 80 minus 10% = 72).
Take 2 million baht income as example:
As work income (wife has own income), the tax is 325,000 baht.
As dividend, the company tax and withholding tax together are 560,000 baht.
It will be worth having your wife as employed - you need two in the company - and let her have an income, the first 160,000 baht are tax exempt, and the tax rates begin with 5 percent. You can find a Thai income tax calculator HERE.
Have you considered to keep your UK limited company?
Check with the Double Taxation Agreement between UK and Thailand about dividend taxes in UK, it would probably be free from income tax in Thailand, if already taxed in UK.
You are allowed to live from your savings. Foreign income is only income taxable in Thailand if the foreign income is transferred into Thailand during the same year as it's earned, the following year it's considered savings, and savings are free from income tax; i.e. if you UK company pays it's annual dividend in December, and you transfer the money in January the following year, it's tax free savings...????
Many thanks for this detailed answers ????

I have worked for many years in Thailand for a foreign firm.
Use a PEO.
It's legal and easy. Pay tax, pay social security (and receive card and vaccine rights), and get work permit etc sorted by the PEO.
Couldn't be easier.
Can you please recommend a PEO? And do they charge much?
Thailand pass not get after 8 days
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
