  1. mr ferguson is allowed to tap up players, ie berbatov publicly, he done that a long time ago, but no 1 is allowed to tap his players up, he throws a wobbly with real madrid, stick ur chewing gum where the sun dont shine :D

    :D

So you think no one does it then? :o

The thing with the Ronaldo situation though, is totally off the scale, in fact it has been down right disgraceful behaviour on Madrid's part, and that has even been seconded by other big clubs in Europe. Whilst I'm not suggesting that United have been right in saying some of the things in the past few days, it is very different to the Madrid backed Merca spin campaign.

I'm sure that Fergie will be happy to stick his chewing gum where the sun doesn't shine when he gets Berbatov. :D

you have just confirmed urselfthen, that theres 1 rule for ferguson then, and adifferent rule for everyone else :D

  2. BARRY - IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON

Gareth Barry remains desperate to join Liverpool and has blasted Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill for making no effort to persuade him to stay.

The England midfielder has made no secret of his desire for the regular Champions League football on offer at Anfield.

But despite his pleas to the Villa hierarchy to allow him to leave, the midlanders have remained entrenched and rejected a reported £15million bid from the Reds earlier this month.

Barry told the News of the World: "My mind's made up, I want to join Liverpool.

"There's no going back, it's time for me to move on. I'm desperate to play Champions League football and that's why I have to leave Villa."

O'Neill has been openly critical of Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez over his pursuit of the Villa skipper.

But despite O'Neill's public posturing, a scornful Barry insists nothing has been done to get him to remain at Villa Park.

"Villa kept saying they wanted me to stay but I have not heard from the manager for weeks," he claimed.

"It's seven weeks now since the season finished but while the gaffer's found time to be a pundit for the BBC at Euro 2008, he hasn't found the time to speak to me.

"Have Villa offered me anything to try to persuade me my future is at Villa Park, not Anfield? Not a thing."

    Looking good for us methinks!

    Sporting Life

liverpool can have him 18 million for what. ? another average english player whos no spring chicken and all of a sudden hes a class act, go ahead and waste ur money :o

  4. Hello all

This is my first post, so please bear with me. I want to buy a house in the Jomtien/south of Jomtien area, however to do so I first need to sell my apartment, which is also in the Jomtien area. I am looking for an enthusiastic, pro active agent. I have approached a couple of agents, and the response has been pretty lack lustre at best. I am having trouble even getting them here to value the place, I have a value in mind, which I dont think is unrealistic, and I am well aware of the difficulties faced in selling properties here at present. I worked in the real estate industry in a previous life (I was not in sales) and I know that when a client arrived with a listing, they were welcomed with enthusiasm. After all, no listings = no sales = no commission. Maybe the problem here is too many properties to list, or coming onto the market in the future. Anyway, any suggestions or recommendations appreciated. Thanks for your time.

get ready to get bombarded by real estate staff to say that a particular office is the bees knees, but they wont admit they work for them there desperate to grab that commission , get your crash helmut on :o your PM inbox is gonna fill up quick, the vultures are out :D

  5. I've been there twice.

The food was fine, the waitresses were friendly and provided good service.

I couldn't care two hoots who owns the restaurant or whether he says "hi" to me or not.

I go there to have a meal, not indulge in intellectual conversation or idle chit chat with a stranger.

you really didnt get my point, a previous person had said it was "something special" and it certainly is not that, its OK, and why do so many people on this forum imagine and put words into peoples mouths , QUOTE I go there to have a meal, not indulge in intellectual conversation or idle chit chat with a stranger. well i go to a restaurant to eat wow how did you work that one out :o Einstein. and imagine i go there for idle chat, you dont even know me.

if you go to somewhere like the Mata Hari then you will know what i mean about "somewhere special"

and by the way, a great host with charm and character adds to any restaurant, and will inform you of any specials that are on offer and make you feel relaxed and welcome, if the owner wants to put his head behind the paper, it puts that restaurant into what it is a fair priced cafe, not " something special "

  6. yes i know where u mean the owner there sits with a long face and only talks to his friends, and never acknowledges strangers, why would anyone want to travel to there, i would never line the pocket of an owner who only speaks to selective customers, but it wouldn't be as bad if the food was something special

I met Peter and his wife in the first two weeks after the restaurant opened. We live within five minutes of Rung Thip and have eaten there many times over the years.

Peter does not run the restaurant, he does not help with food preparation and he is not a meeter or greeter for those that think they deserve this treatment. Peter reads his newspaper, eats his food and talks to those that are willing to say "hi" to him. I did that early on and we now talk regularly when we meet.

Peter and his wife are very nice people. You're being unfair to categorize him any other way.

His wife runs the place, along with the girls that have been there since they opened. The food is as good as you will get and I have had many a meal in the place. We eat both Thai and farang food and I have never had a bad meal, with the exception of their hamburger. I enjoy their breakfasts as well but they know I like three eggs, crisp bacon and softened butter.

I believe if you read the first 19 pages of this thread, you might find any number of people that think the food really is "something special".

the food is "OK" if you consider the food there as " something special " im afraid your standards of "something special" fall way below mine, it is 100% not "something special" its ok and fairly consistent and thats all i would call it.

  7. Hi from Australia.

I want to help out a small village I visited south of Khon Kaen this year. I basically want to buy some cows (beef) for them as a gift, maybe 10 or 20 head.

Can anyone point me in the right direction where I can buy them or at least what the cost would be.

I was told by a Thai person that I could buy 5 cows for approx 25,000 baht. I plan to visit again soon and want to get my math right before I do.

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers.

be prepared to get ripped off, by the end of it you will probably need enough money to buy up all the worlds beef resources :o

  8. This is the situation,

I have been in Thailand for the best part of 2 years, apart from the odd spell back home in England. At the beginning of January i met an 18 year old girl, im 25..she had not longed arrived in Pattaya and spoke very little english. After couple weeks of speaking to her she agreed to go out to the cinema and from there on we met up and got to know each other better. Anyway i then stayed with her for the next 4 months until end of April when i had a call from back home that my grandmother had suddenly died and the family wanted me back home asap as the funeral was the following week, next day i booked up flight back to England and after a lot of last minute rushing around i was flying off just 2 days after receiving the news, but not long before i was leaving the girlfriend told me she might be pregnant! omg i had no time to do anything but told her soon as im gone she has to go pharmacy and get herself tested.

I arrive back in England and im tied up in alot of family grieving for a while with the funeral and everything. When i next get to speak to the girlfriend i ask her about the baby situation and she tells me she is not pregnant which is a relief, afterwards i end up staying 2 months in England before i head back to Thailand at the end of June.

When i return and meet up with the girlfriend im not 100% convinced she isnt pregnant and buy and test from the pharmacy and make her take it..she lied and she is pregnant! i take her to the hospital the next day and im told she is 3 months and its too late to do anything (not the case if she acted 2 months before).

Im so annoyed and i know she just thought by having baby she can now sit on her ass at my house and i will take care of her forever, when ive said i might have to return and work in England she replies ''why cant you just live in Thailand'' like everything is just that simple.

Anyway my friends have said she has just screwed me over to try and trap me (which i agree with), i have told her i want her to return and stay with her sister for while because i want time to think (she has now told me she is 17 and not 18!) now when i say about her leaving the house she says ''im young, i will tell police!!'' what the hel_l, now what do i do? i feel so trapped and i truely believed she was 18, can i go to jail? she never worked as prostitute and i never paid her any money to stay with me (only food and some clothes).

What i really need to know is what can happen if she reports me to the police? also if we seperate and i take care of the baby how much would it cost me per month (only take care of baby and not her) i know amount can vary depends on how much i want hand the baby but i dont want her family pocketing extra and also i do not have much money hence not planning on this situation in the first place.

    Please i need some advice...

she lied to you initially to get you back there, DO A RUNNER , the family will skin you for every baht, while she will sits on her lazy toot for the rest of her life till ur bleed for every baht

  9. It will be difficult to agree on anything if we keep on comparing apples and oranges.

If we take for reference a young couple, mid 30's, 2 kids, basic expat life style (to be defined), I'ld say 100K is an absolute minimum in order to enjoy a similar life style one would enjoy in Europe or N America. Then need to add various allowances, maid, education, return tickets, ... to start to really take advantage of the expatriation.

i totally agree with you, i need that to live the lifestyle i require here and thats without front wheels skids. only me and my telak :o and i dont have pay rent on my house, if i had to pay rent on my house that would be another 60000 a month, but i dont consider my lifestyle here to be overly extravagant, i dont need a maid my wife does what all good wives do, take care of me and our house.

  10. Lads as you all know. Its only just over a month to go till the season starts. I will once again be running a prediction competition. Exactly the same as last year.(You'd think i'd learn!) :o It would be good to see who is interested in playing. I know it's over a month away. But i thought i'd get the ball rolling. If you are keen to play. Then just check the rules at the top of this forum. For those who played last year. Then try and get involved again. Cheers. List below.

    Jockstar

i would like 2 play but i cant c the rules please point me in the right direction

  11. Blatter needs to go - and followed by Platini. Both are very anti EPL and anti English football and Blatter should spend some time with a shrink! Slavery? Paid 100K a week to kick a ball around and be worshipped by thousands - I wouldnt mind a couple of years of this kind of slavery! People sign contracts of their own free will and if they really want to get out of them, they should either buy it out or wait for a club that is prepared to pay their current clubs pricing. If we lived in a world with no contracts, it would just be anarchy and a free for all. I think it is becoming clear that clubs are beginning to hold the upper hand and quite rightly in most cases now. Long ago, the players were hard done by but now?? In the cases of Barry, Adebayor, Lampard and Ronaldo, it seems that self gratification is all they care about and it would not surprise me to see fans beginning to vote with their feet and attendances come down soon - or, the grounds will be full of people that know and care nothing about the clubs and are there just for a one off trip. Crazy times and a game seemingly being run by even more crazy people!

  12. I think part of the reason why the bars are not like they use to be is because there is no smoking allowed anymore, there seems to be more people smiling outside than inside now, sat next to the ash tray. A smoker or not a smoker, smoking and drinking go together, and now its banned.

"smoking and drinking go together" yer right u can kill yourself twice as quick and infect everyone else around who don't want passive smoking, its great that cigarettes are banned in an air coned environment

  13. We are planning on swimming with the dolphins in Pattaya in december 2008. Does any one know their direct email address so that I can contact them and reserve our 45min slot. I dont want to go with a tour company.

    Thanks

    cessnock:)

i know dolphins are considered intelligent but Ive never known them to have there own email address, and how do you think they can manage to get out of the water and make it into an internet cafe, i wouldn't mind some of what ur on :o

  14. Chinese food is my favorite. never found a good place in pattya yet. I saw an ad and went to the Rice Mill in the Marriott. they had a special for 490 baht. all you can eat, and it wasn't a buffet. they give you the menu and you keep ordering what you want including deserts. the food was great and it kept coming without any problems. they add vat and 10% service charge [ the workers don't get any of the service charge :o ]

If you like Chinese food this is a great deal. i will be hitting it once a week as thats all my diet can afford

WHATEVER YOU DO DONT GO TO CHINA FOR CHINESE FOOD, ITS DISGUSTING

  15. UK International Licence = £5.50 = 364 Baht.

Which can only be obtained at AA office or Post Office in the UK. Round-trip flight = £800 = 53000 baht

There is no such thing a an international driving license, what is being quoted as being available at a UK Post Office is a International Driving Permit (IDP), this document is a translation of a driving licenses in many languages (but not Thai), and is only valid when presented with the original license.

Personally I would never drive in Thailand because:

    1. I do not know the laws of the road.
    2. I if as a non Thai should I be involved in an accident which was not my fault I still would be held responsible.
    3. The police if not corrupt, they are incompetent.
    4. The local standard of driving is so bad that there is now chance in the forseeable future of it ever being acceptable by any civilized countries standards, and I really think that we in the UK should make anybody with a Thai driving license demonstrate their ability to control a motor vehicle in a safe manor be for allowing them on our roads.

Driving in Pattaya is so bad I would not even cross most roads unless I really had too.

I have to drive, particularly motor bikes I would suggest carrying a mobile phone at all times, have a few numbers of Friends (even the receptionist at your hotel) who can translate and ask them to ask the police what you have done wrong, heard a story of a couple of policemen stopping a friend on a bike, he phoned the tourist police, he said he had never seen two policemen back down so fast.

    BB

incorrect there as an international driving license in the UK and its totally legal you can get it from thr RAC

  16. Just five years ago, a gold chain snatch was rare in Pattaya. Times have changed. I saw after the Euro football games, the debt collectors hover, the desperate Thai men and women lose their TV sets and possessions. Gambling and drugs are out of control now in Pattaya, it will only get worse.

Wearing even a one baht chain around the neck is like dangling a wad of 1000 baht notes out your back pocket. This is Thailand, even in the U.K. 200 quid is a nice little earner for a thief on a motorcycle where crime & punishment are repaid with theatre trips and white water rafting expeditions.

Here in Thailand a necklace thief can expect a night in jail, followed by a phone call to his sister or mother to bail him out for 300 baht.

r u kidding me what r u talking about quote "Just five years ago, a gold chain snatch was rare in Pattaya" BS. i agree it will get worse but ur safer here than in most cites in the world, im from a rough part of London and ive been here for 7 years, and ive never been frightened or intimidated, but i have in England, act like an idiot and you get treated like one , which is exactly like the OP did

  17. The same thing happened to me when i asked for a number, remember that if its for internet connection the company that does eventually give you a number will be the one that provides you with your internet connection. So i would suggest you keep trying with TT&T as their internet seems to be better than TOT.

Thats what i did, i kept going to their office until they finally said that they had a number available, it took about 6 weeks though! :D

that is not correct, i don't live far from my rented house and i have a TOT line where i live and i was not happy with TOT internet, so i changed my internet to TT&T. which by the way is better, so my line number was changed to a TT&T number, but try to understand this BS, i have to pay my new number with a TOT bin, so when i go into TOT office to pay the bin in a TOT letterhead i am paying TT&T, TOT own all of TT&T lines, but why be surprised anymore of what a joke TOT is, they really dont care, all they have to do, is what any other phone company do in the world add an extra digit, but thats a bit too complicated for them

Why is that not correct? What i said, is exactly what you said :o You changed to TT&T internet so you were given a TT&T number.

yes i was given a TT&T number TOT own the line TT&T rent it off of them, u have to go to TOT to pay for your TT&T land line number, i know it don't sound right ?? but it is, ITS CRAZY

  18. 19. If you start at the eastern end of Soi Neurnplabwan at the temple and go west towards Suk. Rd., the road runs straight for approx. half a mile, then bears to the left. The Rung Thip restaurant is right in front of you where the road bears left,so if in fact you went straight on instead of making the left turn you would end up in their car park.

yes i know where u mean the owner there sits with a long face and only talks to his friends, and never acknowledges strangers, why would anyone want to travel to there, i would never line the pocket of an owner who only speaks to selective customers, but it wouldn't be as bad if the food was something special

  20. ive just gone to TOT pattaya klang 3 times in fact, i had a different answer each time, a house that i rent the previous tenant decided to not to have a line so it was canceled, but hes left now a prospective tenant wants the line reconnected, he needs the internet, TOT have told me that they cannot give me a line ie: "a number" as they have run out of numbers and they dont know when i can have 1, so i went to TT&T same answer " cannot" any ideas how to get round the system there usually is, when uv lined a few palms :o

  21. ROBINS NEST is by far the very best. Best quality and price 199 for as much lamb, beef every meet and 7 veg + great gravy. I look forward to my Sunday meal there. Same thing at sportsmans 425.

bigger letters than ur bull are u the owner, ur avin a laugh, if u enjoy over boiled tasteless food go to them places :o

  22. I like Foodland the best anyway. I have always shopped at Foodland and I find all of the staff very very friendly and nice, I always check my change ect wherever I go, but I must say, I have never had any problems at Foodland.

I've also never experienced any problems at Foodland or Friendship, only Big C and Carrefour.

haha watch out for the thai guy who gos into foodland and puts his dirty hands into the salad bar and satisfys his hunger , after i seen that i stopped taking from the salad bar, hes got no money to eat, thats why they put the salad bar up by the staff as u come in, luvly jubly

  23. I have visited here for 4 years now but am new to looking at Condos here. There are so many!

I am looking to buy now, or very soon. I am looking for very high end with a good reputation, security and already finished or close to completion.... under 75 MBht....

    What would you all recommend?

Which condo building would be your dream condo to have here in Pattaya?

i wouldn't buy a condo, get a house, my house is worth 6 million, i bought it for 3, i have privacy my own pool, no noisy neighbours , why would anyone want to live in an over priced pigeon hole and forget about the argument about u own ur own condo, u need a company to own a house and land, all u have to do is make sure that the thai shareholders have signed the share contract agreement, easy, they have no authority at all
