  1. How do ordinary peas become 'mushy' is there a method? Then all the problems would be over, we could make 'mushy' peas.

they are dried peas u soak them in water over night and slowly cook em , a true culinary delight :o

  2. the new karen long neck village in sattahip has been advertizing 20 baht entrants fee so my friend went there a few days back and he was confronted and asked farang pay 250 baht thai is 20 baht he said ive got thai driving licence and im a resident here, they then said ok then its 250 baht for everyone thais and farangs :o "amazing thailand"

  3. CALL TO BOYCOTT HAAGEN DAZS ICE CREAM IN THAILAND

Ice cream is terrible for you anyway. That thick cream clogging up your arteries, and an overdose of sugar or some cancer causing sugar substitute.

Haagen Dasz did you a favor, have a glass of wine instead.

everything we enjoy in life is bad for u :o

  4. You mean people sit in front of their 'puters, and watch the action inside a bar? In Pattaya? I would hazard a guess at what the web site must be called, but I feel a 3 day suspension, or worse, would ensue. Not to mention my Karma.

u want to stop guessing its not good for your imagination :o i cant see where he said he was on line to look inside someones bar how boring. you want to stop ur imagination running away with u it makes u blind :D

  5. Hi there did a search on web cams in Pattaya ,could not believe where they are in bars on the beach, down Central rd and some on the roof top Mike Mall . Does anyone know of any more ?

    cheers.

    my bedroom :o

  6. You flipped some guy the finger and got beaten up for it. It took you how many years before you learned that lesson?

The guy deserved the finger, he was driving negligently and rudely. For the driver and his friends to have responded with violence is a criminal action that cannot be condoned. The OP should have taken a license number down. reported the assault and battery to the police, and paid the 'police fee' to ensure prosecution.

ur living up in clouds :o

  7. I suffer from road rage. In the U.S., it's almost an epedemic there. Here it's a different animal. I was on my bike on Suk in Rayong trying to make a u-turn. Behind me was a pickup truck blasting it's horn at me to move along faster. There was a slight drizzle and a lot of oncoming traffic. I took my time as the pickup kept blasting it's horn. I gave him the finger - he kept blasting. The rain started to come down hard and I finally made the u-turn and turned into a Shell station for cover until the rain stopped. Much to my dismay, the pick-up pulled up behind me. A tarp unfurled from the back of the pick-up and two Thais who had been under it because of the rain, hopped out along with the driver. To make a long story short, they beat the snot out of me and sped away. I'll keep my road rage under control in Thailand. Lesson learned.

its not easy because of the way they drive but be careful some carry a gun

  8. Just saw a cute Thai move Handle with Care where the lead character is forced to sing the Thai national anthem (nice song) word for word to prove he isn't an illegal immigrant (he had lost his ID). He could sing it. Got me thinking about my USA national anthem. I most certainly cannot either sing it or recite the words to save my life, even though I grew up only a few hours from the site of the battle the song is about. I get as far as OH SAY CAN YOU SEE (is that right?). Of course, the US national anthem is notoriously difficult to sing, even for pro singers.

How about you? Can you sing and recite your national song?

BTW, the movie features a really nasty stereotypical evil American farang character, he trades in illegal Buddha heads, naturally, just like most of us. I guess the target audience was the TRT, PPP crowd, but I liked the movie anyway.

BTW: Sorry, there isn't space in the polling form for all nationalities, obviously.

the reason a lot of people in th UK cannot sing the anthem is because there not british (only by passport) and cannot speak english and the rest of the immigrants hate the UK and are only there for the freebies

  9. i was taking my wife home from work like i do most days and just to give you an idea about her shes up most mornings washing ironing etc taking care of all my needs then shes off to work but some mornings she will find time to go and do a bit of praying at the wat, seems like the perfect wife, anyway on our way back home we see this poor old guy pushing a trolley looking for junk and we see him nearly every day, hes a bag of bones, its sad to see him, so my wife said to me today, its such a shame about that old man, im really sorry for him and i said so am i, shall i turn round and give him 100 baht and she quickly retorted no im not that <deleted> sorry for him :D:D:o

  10. can you buy a decent thai wine in pattaya im fed up with paying the duties that are imposed on imported wines and before anyone says there are no decent thai wines yes there are i had some in bangkok and not that horrible stuff that was being sold in carrefour on a stall downstairs, i wouldnt put that stuff on my chips

decent thai wine is neither available in Pattaya nor anywhere else. reason: there is no decent thai wine :o

Seconded, what the Thais call wine here makes Englsih wine look good. AND it's overpriced. Give me a $3 bottle of Viet Dalat wine anyday.

if uv not tried monsoon valley sow wow :D

  11. I went there a few months ago. I've never been to Spain and have never had Spanish food before so thought I'd give it a try as I like other Medditeranean countries foods.

It was awful, I would never go again and if that's what they serve up in Spain I'll stick to McDonalds if I ever go there. It was expensive too, 300 baht per person for paella.

Do have a friend of a friend who's Spanish though and he reckons the food is great. So what do I know?

    Edit: Corrected spelling of piella.

if your taste buds prefere mcdonalds ur a real mcnugget :o

  12. Monsoon Valley is available in a number of decent restaurants including Cafe New Orleans and most of the supermarkets.

I have tried the White Shiraz which is reasonable but the red Pokdum I found was rough and acidic. It probably is more acceptable after a large aperitif :o

ok what was you charged for a bottle ??

As far as I recall in the restaurant the red was 795 baht and the 2003 shiraz reserve was about 1200 baht :D

ok i can tell you i got the reps phone number and within 1 hour she was out to see me, impressive and the prices ive got is 420 baht a bottle a c/s is 2520 baht so that works out the same per bottle and the others are the same price colombard, white shiraz, shiraz and muscat, but they also sell south african and californian selections, i have ordered a selection as well the south african chardonay is only 270 for 75cl and the cab sauv is the same price , i will have the order delivered tomorrow and give it a whirl :D

  13. I'd be grateful for any experience or recommendations of removal firms or "man and van" to take some household things to Buriram. Doesn't have to be a big van but a pick up is too small (have one anyway). It will be a one way trip so he's on his own after he drops the stuff off.

If anyone has used one I'd be grateful for their comments.

not a problem it can be done ive sent u a PM

your obviously not as clever as you think, i was in bangkok last week at the kinnaree restaurant probably the best thai restaurant in bangkok, if theres abetter one id like to know and i had some wine called monsoon valley and it was very good, i suggest you stick to your leo beer mixed with 100 pipers :D and i do know what im talking about ive worked in some of the best hotels in europe

you Sir have no idea of wine as somebody who works in hotels can't afford a good bottle of wine :D

    silly boy go away :D

  16. Any one who like Spanish food should try Valencia Restaurant on Threpasit Road.

I went there last night and everything was great, from start to finish. In fact it was so good that I am having trouble not speaking Spanish, so apologies if the Englishio is not perfecto.

The restaurant is air conned and the Spanish owner/chef Vincent is a great hostio. All his Thai family help out and it's just perfectio for an evening outio.

A lot of the food has to be ordered 24 hrs in advancio but we had platio after platio of excellent foodio without orderingio in advancio.

It's located a couple of doors up from Wood R Us, opposite the 7-11.

3 bottles of Vino, several coffees and a banquet for 20 people between 4 of us came to only 5,200 baht, not pesetas :D , which is unbelievable valueio, IMO.

And no, I don't have shares in the place :o

yes very good for an authentic paella and sangria been going there for a few years now and hes quite a character, ask to see his bullet wounds from when he was a diamond runner in london, great stories from him

  17. To answer the OP question. Your privacy is not an issue here in Thailand. Unless you are somebody or know somebody with "the juice", enjoy the noise while you can still hear. You may consider moving to a first world country where most laws are enforced uniformly. An alternative suggestion is to move into a high-rise above the 30th floor. Above 300 feet the noise from below is negligible. The downside would be problem neighbors who BBQ in the middle of their living room thinking they are still nomads in the desert. The imported camel chips reek!

yet another one whom cant grasp the thread, "well if u dont like it go home" well i am home u muppet :o
