  1. ok the usual story, its probably been told a 1000 times, my friend falls head over heels with this beautiful Thai lady, she seemed so nice well educated, university degree, 35 years old looked 25 . never been married, worked for 13 years with a well known electronics company, it was not a problem for her to stand up at a seminar and entertain a large crowd, she could not have baby's, because of the customary road accident, everything seemed great, although he loves her he wasn't too keen on getting married, it all seemed so quick, hed a couple of failed marriages under his belt, but she was insistent on marriage very quickly, so he agreed as she said she had never been married before and she would take care of him for the rest of his life and she wanted nothing from him from before, that would be left to his children so they had a will set up, after a few weeks of bliss his wife noticed, that the blue book was incorrect, it was in the German builders Thai wife name, so he went off to have it verified by a lawyer and it was true what his wife said, so she said instead of paying a lawyer silly money she could go and do it for a few 100 baht, to put it in his company name, then after a short period there was rage attacks from her, she turned overnight from being the perfect wife to an aggressive virtually unlivable person, she run off told him she wants a divorce and came out with the most disgusting language imaginable and she comes out with the house is hers as she put it in her name and not the company, you might think my friend is stupid, but she gained his trust and all the signing he done was on Thai forms, can he do anything by Thai law ??? she said she knows the Thai law and its hers when he dies by law,as she is his wife HELP

The blue book - as you call it - shows who lives at the property not who owns it. I rent a number of propertys and i dont give a toss who puts their names on the books. I have never read so many BS replys from clueless individuals.

The name change on the blue book is done at the local amphur and never needs the expensive services of a lawyer. Sounds like your mate is a total <deleted> wit.

ok so you know more than me big deal,i have just tried to help, then you let yourself down by using bad language and if you want to call my friend with bad language behind a computer why not arrange to meet and tell him to his face then we will see who is the clever one,

  2. Educated or not,White skin or not,a bad one is a bad one.I laugh my nuts off when i hear some guys say,SHE NOT BAR GIRL SHE IS WHITE SKIN AND EDUCATED.Does this make them a nice lady or not. Some lovely thai ladies and some not so lovely, like any country in the world.Freelancers are plentiful in many parts of thailand so smell the coffee guys and be prepared to get ripped off by all kinds.

In reverse smell the coffee, gals too.

hey mate stop making stories there was nothing said about bar girls or being white, she is far from white "you say guys say", dont put words into my mouth, i did not insinuate anything like your suggestion, i was painting the story with no thought in my mind, i only gave facts as best as i can, i could have done it better, but i dont write for a living and as uv "laughed your nuts off " does that mean uv got no balls :o

  4. May as well check to see if "she" is really a man or not while he's at it. Have seen more than a few farangs, not yet married, but apparently on the road to marital "bliss" with gender questionable "gals."

  5. Has he any proof that he transferred money here to buy the house. If he has, he has a running chance that he might get that money back from having to Auction the house.

it was 7 years ago that money was transfered for the house in Thailand from the UK. he still has the account number from then, but will it still be on there records re: the transfer transaction

The UK bank should still have a record of the Transaction and he needs a copy of this. As soon as he recieves this, he needs to go immediately to a Lawyer. The word 'URGENT' now comes to mind. The Lady in question might very well have already sold his house or remortgaged it for it's full value.

but he still has the book and the deeds locked up in his safe, can she still sell it without these ??

  9. I'm going to need a moving company that will be equiped to move a whole house load of Furniture, including taking apart the beds abd wardrobes and putting them back together again.

Anyone have the names and numbers of any companies?

    Barry

take a look in the pattaya mail, they have professional removal firms, but you will find them quite expensive,

  10. eufa have announced that they want to change the rules as English teams are too successful and should share there success with the rest of Europe, heres the comments

Uefa is to try to get English clubs to accept a smaller chunk of the Champions League pot after it revealed the figures they earned from last season.

Winners Manchester United netted £33.9m, runners-up Chelsea £28.7m, Liverpool £21.1m and Arsenal £18.3m.

Uefa spokesman William Gaillard "buy coincidence a Frenchman" said: "We've a situation fixed until 2012, so that's plenty of time to review it."

so in other words they want to change the rules that are locked in till 2012 because of the English clubs success in the champions league," the English clubs have invested in there own money " not eufa , eufa wants them to give some back

  11. Well I aint go no money, my wife has more then I do. So I must be doing something right

Yep, you married into money or at least into more money than the zero you have. Any other accomplishments? Get back to us in 5 years and let us all know how your marriage is going. Probably more to your post, so sorry if I took it wrong :o

Well we have a bit of money now after being together for 6 years.

Mate if you actually saw me you would understand why a woman would want to be with me.

dont tell me u have a very large bulge in ur wallet :D

  12. She will be more than content with the proceeds accruing from our house in Pattaya, the odd thou I have sculling around, and my pension which will revert to her on my demise.

I am the centre of her world and she of mine. We have enjoyed 7 years of marital bliss so far with no end in sight. Money has never been part of our equation.

:o:D:D:D UNbelievable the naivety of some.

Money has never been part of our equation. so what about the house and the pension get a life and get back on this planet :D:Dyet another farang who left his brains at the airport

  13. Hey all,

    Moon here once again!

Okay since I've been coming here for 5 years I've decided to write a screenplay based in Thailand. It's a crime drama and I need to get some more details about how things work in the Thai police department.

Can anyone help me out with a contact (hopefully a detective of some sorts) in the Bangkok Police Department?

    Cheers,

    Moon

im a mind of information if u wanna know where to get a motorbike i even know that :o:D

not a bad idea to try a police station :o

  15. I noticed today that the Magnolias at Mabprachan looks nearly completed and was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about the place?

I was told originally that it was being built by the Thai Navy and that's how they got permission to build a 5 story building. I have since been told that is owned by a rich family from Bangkok.

I dare say somewhere in the middle there will be a grain of truth.

I've also been told it will be targeting Korean and Japanese golfers but who knows.

Someone also mentioned that after 3 years as a hotel the rooms can be legally sold as condos.

I have to say that it does look ok, any more than 5 stories would have been an eyesore though.

Let's just hope we don't see a dozen condos spring up.

    Rumours, rumours.

Any one want to add to the gossip? :o

i know the people who own it my wife sold them air con, they are wealthy Thais from bangkok, actually the Thai guy there is very nice his English is excellent and so it should be as he was an assistant pilot with Thai airways, their intension is mainly long rentals,

  16. Friends tell of a stall on a local market that sells a plug- in device which claims to reduce your electricity bills.

Has anyone on the Forum any knowledge or experience of such a device and does it work ,how effective is it, and is it legal ??

    Keep the A/C's Burning.

ive been told that, if its true tell me where, its a bug to me that electricity is double the price compared to the UK and please, i dont want some blithering idiot telling me if you dont like go back to the UK :o

<deleted>. At 0.05p per unit (3.25 Baht) my electric bill here is cheaper than the standing charge in UK before useage of units!

actually i didn't asked what kept your ears apart. :D but perhaps there isn't a lot of difference in the unit charge, it is what the cost of running air con is and any farang who tells me they prefer to live without air con it is normally because they cant afford to run it or they are super kinyaws :D

  17. I am putting this in the general forum so as to reach maximum audience. It pertains to the following thread in the health forum about a long time farang resident of Thailand with no family/apparanelty no close friends or partner who is seriously disabled post-stroke and unable to care for himself.

This is the link to the whole sad story:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=195195

If anyone knows of a nursing home or long-term care type place -- not an acute care hospitalm but someplace that cares for the elderly or disabled and is reasonably decent and suitable for a farang, please post or PM

Personally don't know of any but hopefully someone out there does...

i just went to the banglamung elderly peoples home and unfortunately it was for Thais only, sorry about that but i will carry on looking for you good luck

  18. Thanks for your help Sheryl

I have a question related to SSI benefits as well and I am hoping that someone with more knowledge than I may be able to help.

His family has started the process of applying for benefits but we are trying to determine the approximate benefit amount in order to help find a facility and to judge the level of care he can expect to receive.

He should be entitled to Disability benefits based on his condition and he is now 62 +1 Month and from the SSI website its stated that he would be eligable to retire 'early' and receive just over 75% of his retirement benefit.

The question is can he receive both of these benefits or would SSI consider this a 'winfall' and max out his benefits at the which ever is the higher rate?

If he could receive both benefits both combined may allow for a fairly high level of care in a long term facility here in Thailand.

Telaksslave thank you for your help, do you know the name or have any contact details to the facility by Laem Chabang?

i will go and get the phone number for you tomorrow its only about 20 minutes drive

  19. i have just bought a new house with a swimming and i have four young children. could any one advise if there is a company in thailand who produce safe covers for a swimming pool which kids would not be able to remove by themselves?

i do not particuly wish to build a fence around it as i feel it would ruin the look of it.

any advise would be most welcome.

tie ur children up solution solved :o
