  1. Heard that the dogs bar over recent months has changed hands again and rumour is that its closed ?? anyone confirm what the state of arrairs is down there ?? Closed / refurb, just sold up and gone......

    EPG.

    Re the Dog's Bollcoks

The bar has been gutted and the workmen are in. I can't yet see what they are building though

    New kennels perhaps ? :)
  2. Used to go there every saturday night with my family ( early ).as for pricing its pretty obvious by all the " where can i get noodles for less that 20 baht " topics that TV has some, lets say thrifty members :D that expats wont eat there, its all down to budget, we enjoyed it and only stopped as we do someting different most weekends now, but as for quality, ok,,,,,pricing, up to you and your budget,. :)

  3. "I post on behalf of a friend who is not internet savvy" ,dosent sound like your friend is savvy in much, and has he hasnt listened you or others in the past why do you think he will start now,,? lets face its hes a statistic, let him deal with it, as you say hes not a wealthy man so no life savings to lose, and if she wants to go back he cant stop her,......sad for the kids, but the for the adults i have no pity,. :)

  4. Makes no difference whatsoever,. if you declare a value, that will make no difference either, the thais will spend hours accessing its value and bill you for a stupid amount in most cases, only today i paid 3500 baht taxes on a parcel declared at 75 pounds ,......even if i send to the uk now as "gift " if its over 18 pounds taxes are applicable ,AND a handling charge,. :)

  5. i dont get fight the thais. teach them a lesson! like the care. another bonehead prolly building a house right now for a girl he met last week in pattaya.

enjoy thais dont fight them , you ewiLl lose!

You can build them a house, but they will still sleep in the trees, offer them the money or the house,,,,ill bet a months rent i know the answer ! :)
  6. to really see if eric won we need numbers to crunch. he could have just been wasting his time, time he could have used to do more productive things!

as far as renting thai ladies would have none of that, no prize so to speak of. no reason to get married then to a froeigner.

Renting thai ladies ?.who mentioned that ? :D ,oh i see, ,well thats not the case with my wife, we rented properties for the first 5 years of our relationship/marriage,we have a daughter and a normal relationship, its all about selection, .some unfortunatly have no idea ,a woman is a woman, and these guys that fail to recognise a good one will fail wherever they look, but thailand seems to attract the ones heading for disaster,. :)
  7. I knew a guy who fought several years in the courts. He got the same 50/50 settlement. Since the house was in her name, she had to sell it for him to get his money. Four years later he had not received the first baht. Good luck, I doubt that it's over.
Im thinking that also, the bit where he says " at a price she agrees at " concerns me, as we know thais will wait and wait, and whos to say she wont start geting funny again, what a nightmare, i really hope its over, :)
  8. Just bumped into this thread. In my thinking, it's too bad it's only 50/50. 50/50 of the earnings since marriage is fair. I think pre nupts are a wonderful thing although I don't know how that works in Thailand.

Love, money and marriage is an interesting topic.

I think that the best thing to do in Thailand is to protect yourself from the start. If that means not owning, then don't own.

"I think that the best thing to do in Thailand is to protect yourself from the start. If that means not owning, then don't own." This is great advice, tell them you are not a wealthy man from the start and rent . its sorts the good from the bad in no time,,But a lot of westerners just cant help revealing all and become targets,/victims :) ..
  9. They may still look handsome but their bodies are still saggy, wrinkly & shriveled with age just as that women in the first picture was. Her face & the other women's was not unattractive if we are comparing to men of the same age who are also considered attractive. But we have no idea what Gregory Peck looked like naked so yes, handsome face but most probably a pruney old mans body too.

Ian has clearly never heard of Helen Mirram, Sigorney Weaver, Kim Catrall, Goldie Hawn, Susan Sarandon, Sharon Stone, Angelica Huston, Renee Russo to name only a few. I would rather see any of these women naked that the supposed ancient sex symbols, of Connery & the like or any of the older men here on thaivisa who think it is ok to slate older women either for that matter. :)

Come on boo, dont hold back, are we coming out of the closet today ?. :D
  10. I'll bet 'Bald is beautiful was coined by an old man. And white beards and potbellies make a man look unhandsome. Why do tatoos look sexy on a man?
Thats funny, i see young guys in pattaya that obviously started to receed early and saw it as a great opportunity to shave the head off,.then head straight down the tattooists ! :)

I've got similar pictures, but with their clothes on. I went to a 50th anniversary this past May and I can tell you I'm sure happy I'm single. Life isn't fair to women when they age.

What, and you think you old men look better. hmm ok, I'll say nothing more for fear of upsetting some egos :)

Oh come on boo, get googling ! :D we dont mind,....( did he say from the 60s or in their 60s ? either way its not a nice sight is it ,. :D
  13. So how come we call Bangkok Bangkok and not Krung Thep?
Actually its ,......Krungthepmahanakhon Amornrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharat Ratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphiman Awatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit,... :) i suppose they shortened as they couldt get it on the front of the bus,...
  14. I live in the second biggest Thai urban area, ChiangMai, but also know Nakon Ratchisema quite well. Very few Thais make more than 12k a year in either.

(apart from the scammers of course)

"Very few Thais make more than 12k a year"? What currency are you using? Alternatively, what planet are you *really* on?

Ill agree with you here, what planet indeed,.my friend is a saleman at ford and makes 50-80k a month, thailand is not all rice picking peasants, . :)
  15. The replys by the op seem to be smoke and mirrors, her property deals in the uk, what was this, tax avoidance. Your krugerands, no hers, actually gifts. you end up flaunting your wealth and trying to avoid british tax laws.

is all this look at me bs

If you have genuinely lost this money perhaps you were flaunting your cash to the wrong people you might learn to keep your personel business to yourself. Also to offset tax liability dont forget charitable donations.

The guy you have directed this reply to is not the op stevoo,,but i see where you are coming from,......
