  1. I learned to read Thai out of boredom and my previous desire to want to learn another language. I always thought how cool it would be to speak to someone in their own tongue. If anyone is interested, and you have the time, you won't regret learning. How long will it take? Depends on the teacher, but once you memorize their alphabet, I would bet in about 50 hours you can make a simple sentence out.

There is a great website once you get some basics down, that will send you an email everyday for a small monthly price. http://www.Thai-Flashcards.com

I try to read these once a day, e.g.

    อพาร์ทเมนท์นี้มีอุปกรณ์ตรวจจับควันไหม?

à pháat mén níi mii ùp pa koon trùat jàp khwan mǎi?

Does this apartment have a smoke detector?

  2. I love the Landmark, while it is expensive.. it's worth it. Just a few steps to Nana, excellent breakfast buffet, and the rooms are perfect. Everything works like a smooth oiled machine.

Just spent 2 nights there, booked the best they had from Hotels.com, push button curtains, fast Internet, perfect beds, clean clean clean!

  3. Brit1984, it's a global currency that could be widely used in online transactions, e.g. Paypal, Credit Cards etc. The chance for growth is unimaginable at this point. +100x is nothing

There are more than "2" holders, there are also the people that spend bitcoins! Read this http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2013/11/12/bitcoin-needs-to-scale-by-a-factor-of-1000-to-compete-with-visa-heres-how-to-do-it/

Bitcoin does more than 75,000 transactions per day https://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions When it becomes more widely accepted it will skyrocket.

I don't think you are an online retailer, but I am. I've been selling goods on the Internet since 1994, and I can tell you that it's still not easy as it should be. Bitcoin will make this happen. In addition the technology that also can come from it is just starting to be discovered.

I used to build/sell computers I built back in 1994, I had to explain to everyone when the Internet started how important it was they get it for their computer. Some customers would explain they don't need it, they have a Encyclopedia CD, and just use it for word processing. They sometimes also explained none of their friends have an email or even know what one is. And one customer in particular was certain it would never take off, I'll never forget him. His arguments to me, also did not make much sense.

If Bitcoin can get the killer app for processing online, and on phones, there will be no stopping it. And as I see it, it's happening already. My site will begin accepting Bitcoins next week.

  4. Yes, Tulips.. Ponzi.. etc, everyone points to those but what most don't realize when they say that is, Bitcoin is already in use, and growing. Not just as a gamble, investment, but as a real tool that works for people all over the world. The people that use it are growing every day, and many of the bitcoin users are not going anywhere and steadily growing.

So the question is, do you think it's just going to blow up? At some point just vanish? For me, I think it's not possible, the ball is in play and it's going to be there for a while.

I got my hardhat on, and I'll be mining 14 coins a day by March.

  5. Kefir (pronounced kee-fer) originates from the Caucasus Mountains in Eastern Europe. It's believed that the name comes from the Turkish word "keif" which means good feeling. Kefir's flavour is naturally sweet and slightly bubbly, and mild but a bit tangy as well.

The drink is made either with kefir grains or a powdered kefir starter — the grains aren't an actual grain like wheat, but are made of bacteria and yeast. Generally of a thinner consistency than yogurt, kefir is usually sold as a drink, either plain or flavoured.

It's very healthy, I have it every day. My current grains I brought over from USA, I was tired of trying to find it at Friendship Market.

It's really easy to make, just put the grains into whole milk, leave it outside for a day, strain and chill.. then drink. Do it every day and the grains grow and grow. I'll give him just a tablespoon and it will be enough for him to make his Kefir at home.

  6. Now trading at 800, one day later trading at 560.

I really wish there were 3 month put options for sale, maybe with a strike of 250.

    I would buy a bunch.

Bitcoin is Amazing, it's not going to be duplicated, everyone is going to use it in the future, prices are going to go up.. and sometimes down.

Buy some Bitcoin today and support the revolution.

  7. 10 years ago my Girlfriend got a 10 year VISA at the Embassy, yes I did say "Girlfriend". Initially she refused her at the window at which time I said, "no problem I'll just go for the fiancé visa". The Consul (young American girl) then asked some questions, figured out from my girlfriend that I'd be living in Pattaya (building a home) and also knew that I was married before to a Thai. She then said, "I changed my mind, I'm going to give her the VISA".

I've never heard of a story like that since. I was able to take my wife to Rome, Paris, Tokyo, London and other countries without a problem.. until about 4 years ago when we were refused a VISA to Spain. This pissed me off, I did not understand how since she held a 10 Year

VISA to USA she could be refused.. but what can you do?

Long story short - girlfriend is now my wife, and in 2 years she will be a US Citizen. Her sister tried twice to get a VISA to come visit and was denied both times. We are hoping once she has citizenship her petition for a family member will be approved.

I wish the USA would be easier on VISA's for Thai residents.

  8. Seems to be a lot of people making posts without really reading about how it works. I'm not surprised as my own Congress can't really get their head around it.

To answer the question about "nothing stopping an infinite number of new cryptocurrencies being created", you have to understand that with the support of miners, Bitcoin currency is possible. If you don't quite understand what that means, then please read this article:

  9. I have, you have to wait in line and pay $5 to see the inside and unfortunately the crew won't always be there . One of my favorite shows, Chum Lee, Rick, Old Man and Hoss.. who would have ever guessed those guys would be interesting enough to watch on a regular basis.

  10. Well Vegas does have strip clubs (nice ones too) and tons of bars, but I don't think it's similar in any other way. I feel pretty different about the people in both, and life is VERY different in the two places.

Things I miss in Vegas are (not in order)

Cars - I have something other than a Toyota or a Honda there

Guns - Yes I like to shoot, this is a recent hobby, in Vegas EVERYONE has a gun

Food - mentioned before, they sell health food there, and every other kind of food on earth

Shopping - yes of course, if I want something.. anything, it's there or at my door in 2 days

Housing - I got a great deal on the ones I have in Vegas, right now some real deals to be made

Travel - 2.5 hours from Utah parks, many road trips to be had

  11. agree to disagree? sure had that decided many posts ago

I'm excited what the future holds for Crypto Currency, Bitcoins or others. I do think as others, it has many more ups and downs to come. My initial investments largely is more as an Asic miner, not as investor into purchasing Bitcoins. Currently I'm mining around 2.4BTC a day ($1179.00USD) at a speed of 2.33 TH/s, and have no power or A/C costs of any kind. My hardware investment is 50% returned to date, I have not yet decided if I will take the cost of hardware out and cash that in, probably not.

Lets hope that in 5 years Bitcoins are common place! thumbsup.gif

  12. I think Vegas has a lot to offer, not sure if it's a poor man's Pattaya though lol. I like the West Coast of USA, I could not live in Los Angeles, I grew up in the mountains.. but bored of the snow.

I don't gamble though, learned a long time ago that never works out.

I prefer Vegas now, has all my hobbies and of course the food. Whole Food Markets is awesome, I seem to have gained a few pounds since I got here.
