  1. Sell, Sell, Sell.. I can't imagine anything I have in Thailand that I need in my home in the USA that would needed to be shipped.

    Electronics - Cheaper in USA

    Computers - Cheaper in USA

Clothes - I'm betting you don't wear clothes from here like me

Pack what you want in the bags, and sell whatever else. Unless it's antiques or something that was handed down, it makes no sense

    to ship.

Congratulations on moving back to USA

  2. most places that sell Pizza Ovens have the stones that go inside of them, you can ask them to cut them to size

In Pattaya there is one place on 3rd road that sells restaurant equipment that has them

Also, you may want to consider Cooking Steel, I've had better luck with mine than the stone

  3. 15k USD (450,000 baht) in her name, in a Thai bank should do it. Like an above poster said --they want to see FINANCIAL ties to Thailand. That pretty much guarantees a person will go back or their money. The old trick was that if a poor village girl wanted to go to the States, then the whole village would chip in and deposit money in her account--then take it back out later.

Look forward to loads of paperwork. Although Los Angeles has the largest Thai diaspora outside of Thailand--it is still a long wait to get a visa. That's why most of the Thais in the USA are of middle to upper class background. Not many former tuk tuk drivers in LA.

Apply now, and maybe in 10 months to a year she will get a visa. A 2 year wait is not uncommon either.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I have a friend that has over 5 million baht in his account, but he has no job. His family is rich so he dont work.

    He was denied a visa.

Ummmm...yeah...well, that's just like your opinion man--The Dude.

Did you mean he "doesn't work"? Is Engrish yer furst language?

Never mind his English skills, he is correct. They really don't care about large sums of money in the bank, I've tried that. It's about the other aspects of life, and if they think she will return to Thailand. Personally when I think

about it, it's a bunch of BS. The consuls have never impressed me (except for when they approved my girlfriend 10 years ago, mainly due to the fact I owned a home in Thailand and they knew we would return). Why be so hard on Thai

girls traveling to USA, or Thai citizens? Why allow Laos to come in much easier? So many thoughts I have about the process, makes me angry. My wife's sister was denied twice, mainly due to their belief she would never return. We

have plenty of money, and she has no desire to live all the time in the USA. They didn't like the fact that she had a child, and that she had no papers for her marriage. They didn't believe her job at the Apartments we own, was justifiable

as a real job (We do pay her a salary every month!). It's discrimination, plain and simple. I hope it changes some day.

  4. Here for my wife, house, and squash. But after almost 10 years, we are switching to 9 months USA - 3 months in Thailand. Officially have 2 completely setup homes, make's it nice to travel back and forth without the need to pack.

For 9 years I took advantage of the USA Foreign exclusion tax credit, it was a nice run at $80,000 a year but this year I gave it up.

  5. It's not $300Mil, it was just stated that it was $118Mil by Kathleen Sebelius.. I don't think she would falsify that under oath

As far as saying something is easy, or standard, or could be implemented this way or the other.. well I'd have to say this project is much larger than anyone can possibly realize from an armchair. I'm sure they will get it worked out, and also I'm sure it could have been done better.

Talent in IT is hard to come by, and costs money, and sometimes not available. You know the old adage about Fast Good and Cheap. Maybe time was an issue. I would not say it's bad code (I signed up in 5min, worked perfectly), it's just very hard to come up with a very mature, perfect, developed code without first getting it out there and then working the bugs out of it.

Could they have gotten a better team? Sure .. probably, who knows? they will have the bugs worked out at some point.. especially with the heat that is on

Is the GOP making this out to be a bigger mess than it is? Yes, of course.. and it's annoying to me. It's not helpful at all (IMO), and if they can't be helpful then <deleted>. It's done, they are now just wasting more taxpayers money by pushing their agenda.

  6. 118 Million, and it could easily cost that much if it was a team under contract

it's not like putting up a simple site, you have multiple servers and contracts, multiple developers, developer managers, etc

you are basically creating a company from scratch, websites like that just don't pop from thin air

  7. I have a shop house that we are doing some design work on and I'm looking for someone to do Faux Old Brick install or Old Brick install on a wall. I know there

is someone in Pattaya that does it since I can see two shops on Pattaya Klang that have it (Internet Cafe and Louisiana Clothes Shop). If anyone knows someone

that has done this before, please forward me their contact information.

    Thanks in Advance.

  8. I have a Roku and an account with some company, they have all the Thai channels and it's very good quality. When my wife and I are in the states.. she's on it all day watching her drama and other shows.

Chrome cast seems like a good free option, but probably not near as easy as the Roku setup is... I think mine is like $50 a year or something.

  9. Yes you can get it there, then just put them in a coffee grinder

Make your own, it's very easy. I have made this recipe for years in Pattaya, after I bake I give out

some and put the rest in the freezer. It keeps for months. When I want a piece, I just place it in

    the microwave.:

    • 1/2 cup ground flax seed

Where does that come from? Grind your own or buy a 1 lb bag in Villa for B295?

  10. Make your own, it's very easy. I have made this recipe for years in Pattaya, after I bake I give out

some and put the rest in the freezer. It keeps for months. When I want a piece, I just place it in

    the microwave.:

    • 1/2 cup warm water

    • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce

    • 3 tablespoons active dry yeast

    • 3 1/2 cups warm water

    • 1/2 cup honey

    • 1/2 cup molasses

    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

    • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

    • 2 eggs, beaten

    • 9 cups sifted whole wheat flour

    • 1/2 cup ground flax seed

    • 1 cup quick cooking oats

    • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds

    • 3/4 cup cracked wheat or Bulgar

    • 1 teaspoon of salt

    Directions

    1. Stir together the 1/2 cup water and applesauce in a small bowl. Dissolve the yeast in the mixture, let stand until creamy, about 5 minutes. Pour the yeast mixture into a large bowl with 3 1/2 cups of warm water, honey, molasses, vegetable oil, lemon juice, and eggs; stir together to combine well.
    2. In a separate bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, flax seed, sunflower seeds, cracked wheat, and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the yeast mixture until a smooth dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover; let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
    3. Lightly grease four 9x5 inch loaf pans. Punch down dough, shape into loaves, and place in the pans. Allow to rise in pans until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
    4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
    5. Bake 40 to 50 minutes, or until the loaves sound hollow when removed from the pan and tapped on the bottom.

  11. StrongVPN is fastest for me, and 24 hour customer service is nice to have

Keep in mind the speed of the VPN will be determined by the speed you are able to connect to the VPN server from your location. StrongVPN has multiple networks within a single

city so if there is a slowdown between myself and the VPN server, on StrongVPN, I switch to a different network in the same city.

Sometimes there are problems on network routes between you and the VPN server itself, switching networks will usually fix this.

Also you may want to try different protocols, for example if you are using OpenVPN SSL type connection, try going PPTP, or L2TP or if you are on Windows SSTP.

StrongVPN has those options in the software client download they provide.

Here is some more tips on how to get the best vpn speed:

  12. I agree air pollution is bad, but for sure it's nothing like a small gogo filled with smoke. The girls in those bars can't even speak sometimes

from how bad the air is. I went back to Rainbow 4 and in my opinion, its the BEST BAR I've seen in Thailand after 20 years of lurking.

The girls look great, the music was perfect, and the staff are pros. And best part about it is, its SMOKE FREE.

Also they have a "No Haunt" policy there, so if you take a guest out one night.. they are not allowed to come up to you the next night unless

    you call them over.

The way that bar is run should be a model for every bar owner in Thailand.

  13. No matter the culture, country or age group.. breaking up with someone is not easy. My advice on your relationship is to understand

she is frustrated at herself, feeling like she gave you something that she should have kept for someone else. She does not look at

relationships as personal growth, and a time in her life she spent with you that was positive, although I'm sure it was.

Most Thai men can't compete in our level of honesty, compassion, intellectualism, and just overall general quality of partner. Losing you is tough on

her since she probably won't find someone of your status or level of culture for a while.

I'd just ignore all her statements about being a typical farang, she is hurt and will need time to get over it.

Like one other poster said though, she'll be fine. Having suffered from death threats myself though, I can advise to leave as quickly as possible

too if she seems just the least bit unstable.
