  1. I wonder too, if the building owners at Tukcom have thought about this right they will shut it down for a while to force

people to get used to the new location. I wonder too if the move is mandatory for all occupants, I'll try to get the

    scoop.

  2. That one behind Tukcom is probably the worse parking structure I've ever been in.

I vowed never to go in there again after I found it full, and the guys running it just letting cars

go in even after I told them it's full. It was a huge mess of a traffic jam.

I'll pay at Friendship rather than deal with that place.

There's a noodle stand directly across from that structure, on the side of the school. Someone

should tell that noodle stand to pack up the chairs, get some wash clothes, and do a Park and Wash

for 1 hour at 50 baht or something. Surely they would make more profit in a day.

  3. I need some help deciding on what to replace my sandwash with. I really hate how it sucks up dog pea and ever other stain, and I'm wanting something that looks nicer too.

So far my options were the following:

Stamped concrete - I heard about cracks on this, and also how it looks worse over time.

Tiling - To me it looks funny, tiling next to the pool and outside. But if there are some good tiles I'm up for it.

Sandstone - I'm just starting to look into this now, I've seen some really nice pictures of Sandstone backyards on the Internet, but who knows what I can find over here.

I'm hoping for some pics of others backyard coverings and suggestions, and maybe someone knows of a great Home Pro type store that has installers and a great selection.

  4. I agree with the OP, prices are too high right now. And I also make that comparison in my circle of friends, it's an interesting comparison since many consider both cities to be "sin city" in some sort of way.

I own homes in both locations, and I consider the Vegas purchase I made recently a great value for the price. I think if Pattaya came down just a bit on their prices, houses would really start to move again. I don't see many Americans or Europeans making purchases in my project now. I do see Russians though, which is an interesting fact.

And in Vegas, when I made the purchase there 5 months ago, I saw Russians and Europeans buying mostly not Americans.

  5. The only option is to download pod casts and listen to them that way. There's no way to get satellite radio in Thailand

the good news is most of the stuff is podcast available..so just dock your Iphone or Android phone, set your favorite pod

cast to download, and when you get in the care play it on your phone through bluetooth or a audio jack

  6. There's a group of us that have been playing at the Ambassador for years, and we just wanted to post a reminder when we play.

We have all levels of players that come, feel free to PM me any questions.

    Holidayers welcomed!

here is the location if you have not heard of it before:

21/11 Sukhumvit Km 155, Na Jomtien, Sattahip, Cholburi 20250 Thailand

  7. I just had mine setup by a guy from Central Power Buy, and he was really good. Also have worked with Numchai on a few systems, they are also very good.

Running wires and making it organized, it's a pain in the butt. If you didn't find someone PM me and I'll get you a number you can call. Usually

these guys come out with the company, and then leave their personal number for more work (off company clock).

  8. As everyone has stated, VPN router is probably not necessary and the only reason I can think it was brought to your attention was maybe you wanted to watch BBC Iplayer and the tech mentioned a VPN router would be able to do that (a regular vpn account from your computer can as well, provided the vpn server is in the UK)

If you don't want to watch Hulu, or Netflix in America (you would need a USA IP for that) or BBC Iplayer for you Brits ( A UK IP for that), then probably a VPN router is overkill for you. It's always a good idea to do banking on a vpn account though, but VPN routers are generally used to allow multiple devices to connect using one VPN account. VPN accounts generally run about $5 a month on up.

Most people run two routers when they have a VPN router, one not connected to their VPN and one connected to the VPN. That way they can switch back and forth to the VPN easily and have multiple devices on one account.

If anyone is looking for dd-wrt loaded VPN routers, feel free to PM me.

  9. regarding sharing connections, its true that having that many users on a single connection can have a disastrous effect on quality, but it would depend on the users

If the users are the check email only type, than no problem

If they are like me and have at any time 20 torrents running, a few backups, a couple VPN connections and a Roku box running Netflix.. I alone could spoil it for everyone else

Even a moderate user can eat up the available bandwidth at peak times, but it's also safe to say if they don't download torrents, and you are a night own that does

most of your surfing at 12am or something, chances are it would be fine for you too.. as long as the others did not have your schedule.

  10. post-6358-0-25947900-1314664834_thumb.jp

You could get a repeater bridge going, I just did this for one of my VPN routers in my house since the coverage was less than ideal in my living room

if you decide to use a dd-wrt loaded router though, he would probably need one in his home to match the secondary router

  11. So if a fibre optic cable is run to the building or estate etc and then an ordinary cable from there to your house or condo I assume that will effect the 10mb that your supposed to be getting or is that wrong??

    Jimmy

It would not effect the 10Mbit you would receive, basically my feeling is that this fiber connection TOT is providing me is just alleviating the potential problem that they might overload one of their pieces

of hardware between me and their gateway routers, and offering me more speed than their other offerings can provide (probably due to limitation on their hardware). I can only hope that I'm 100% Fiber trip from

my building to the outbound routers of Thailand, which are for sure fiber connects.

So even if you were not directly connected to this fiber connect, you could still benefit from it. Because hopefully the fiber connect is providing these benefits:

    1. Closer to you than before (all of our traffic hits fiber at some point)

    2. Non overloaded circuits - Hoping that connects won't be overloaded by the Internet Service Provider

    3. Better stability - less prone to other stability issues that copper connects have

    - remember all this fiber won't mean a thing if the Internet Service Provider routes have problems to whatever your destination is on the internet

  12. It's fiber all the way to the building, I watched them run the cable myself. Special instructions given not to bend the wire.

Indeed, that would be "fibre to the building" as I mentioned rather than real "fibre to the home". The final distance inside the building to your unit will be over coax, I expect, just like Sophon do in View Talay 2, for example.

It's a lot cheaper to give you a cable modem than to give you an optical modem!

If you look along 2nd Rd they are currently pulling vast quantities of fibre for the new 100mbs system due in November.

I think that would assume condominium style buildings? Not many of those on "the dark side", probably a handful tops. 99% is individual housing here.

    it's a shop house

  13. It's fiber all the way to the building, I watched them run the cable myself. Special instructions given not to bend the wire.

yes this Fiber has nothing to do with International routes, I'm just interested to see the quality difference. I'll keep my

existing DSL line active for a while.

I'll be running a few VPN routers on this line, testing UK and USA routes.
