Good product. A riding buddy of mine put me onto it. I use it only on my gloves, leathers and boots (leather & plastic). Used it for years, with no issues. Side note, from my experience, it will stop leathers developing surface mold, if they're hanging in storage for long periods of time.Use Waxy. Available in 7-Eleven.

If you can't find locally, go Lazada Thailand

For a hidden setup, try and a source a Pinhole camera. See the video link to give you an idea how to install one. You can get them on eBay.

Perhaps some philanthropic person/s are building homeless housing? Yes I'm being sarcastic.

I've always been a fan of strong, steel window framing, either embedded in cement or externally, then design anything you like to go inside it. Making the inner construct easily repairable/replaceable and less chance of structural movement damage.
VF's house is a design in itself. Been there several times and it always seems to be cool inside. Having a high ceiling is definitely an A+ in Garry's book of housing preferences

Nice comparison photos of the good and the badLike everywhere, weather changes from day to day and there can be extreme days. Here is a visual example of the variation.
These are two shots taken a few months apart but at the same location. I put up with the first view so I can enjoy the last one.

"They were charged with theft as well as immigration offences and working without permits."
That's pretty funny - they need work permits to be criminals.
I think the term used, would be 'throwing the book at them'. Law book that is and nail them with every valid law they've broken

Interesting topic. In my area/region, the crops are mainly rice, corn, pumpkins & chillies. I haven't noticed banana crops here Wiang Nuea/Wiang Chai area, so I gather the Phray Mengrai area may have been zoned for crops like bananas, coffee etc. I gather their must be a planning commission to regulate this.

Nice to read about a happy ending for all affected

Agreed, though I'm with a company sponsored scheme whom I intend to keep using them when I leave. I've used the international insurance for stays in Thai hospitals with no issues and no paying up front.
Being a Thai company, that would likely be right. Internationals are more reliable, and not necessarily more expensive. FTR, elective, in health insurance terms, is any treatment that is neither emergency treatment nor for an accident.First for future reference.. and good to find out now.. AIA is a well known insurance in Thailand you need to find out instead of thinking you have insurance you need to find out from your boss, what you are actually covered for and how much? The policy AIA should have a list of hospital that you can use and will be covered.
From what you posted you might think about canning your agent, since he doesn't even know if it is covered and he is the boss of what? Southern province.
Here no different than anywhere? Either it is cover or it isn't unless it borders on being a Elective surgery. If they tell you the operation is 200,000 baht total the hospital has a estimate as to the breakdown what everything is going to cost and based on the limitation of your policy it will determine how much out of pocket on your end.
The authorization should be given to you before the operation and the only billing requirement from you would be what is your share of cost if any after billing agreement is made with AIA and the hospital. As to the selection of the hospital the agent might be pushing you towards another due to the cost difference between the hospital in BKK which is general more.
Honestly you need to know more about insurance in Thailand.. it is not the same as the West.. here it is a mine field. What is the actual limitation of your policy or what are you covered for? What is the amount 700,000 / 1,000,000 / 2,000,000 that you are covered for?

VF,
In regards to myself and to coin a phrase: "you hit the nail on the head" in your last sentence:
>>>Sometimes it is not that we don’t understand Thai ways but rather that we do understand but don’t necessarily wish to participate<<<

I've heard of a lot of issues being resolved by the Pu Yai Bahn in our village. I was initially sceptical to how much clout the village head had based on my western perceptions of law/legal. Quite refreshing that at times problems are resolved amicably and without a mountain of red tape. Perhaps western values could learn from this system of mediation.

I bring in commercially packed powdered garlic, tumeric, pepper (whole kernels) etc from the middle east. The herb sections in the shops can be fairly extensive.

I have noticed that the forum seems more pleasant in recent times. Keep up the good work all.

Good to know about Chiang Mai. VF which clinic did you use for your crown procedure?

All the ATM's I have seen are changed from inside the bank! Seems a bit stupid changing them outside.
Most modular type ATM's unfortunately are not the 'hole in the wall (permanently fixed) type ATM, though security should be ramped up on every restock. I wonder where the door security officer was?

I have been using AA brokers for many years. My insurance is good anywhere in Thailand. Renewal is via bank deposit and sending them fresh photos of your bike via email (generally in response to the renewal email), well at least for class 1 insurance.

Sinthani will do house calls, as long as they know the brand / model in advance.
