Coffee
in Chiang Rai
VF, do you recall what was in that small shot of free coffee that the staff at Starbucks gave us last time we caught up? Had am intriguing taste to it.I am somewhat embarrassed to admit I don’t know how much I spend for a kilo of coffee beans. I buy smaller bags of whole beans at Doi Chaang but haven’t bothered to calculate the per kilo price. I do pay 105 baht for a small double cappuccino at Starbucks, maybe once or twice each week. Friends sometimes give me small bags of Coffee as gifts from as far away as New Zealand.
It is nice to try different kinds of coffee from different places but I am not sure I really have a favorite or worry much about the price.

Isuzu had my SUV tinted new. Tint is not over the top and not restrictive at night time. I'm overseas at the moment otherwise I would take some photos of the tint numbers for you.

This doesn't directly answer your question, but ask the dealer (with a Thai friend if needed) as they generally have different options available and usually from a recomnended 3rd party. Will be buying a new car next week, what is the legal level of window tint?

I eventually do the same with my tablet. As a rule I generally don't post photos from it. My eagerness won this time.

I was surprised. If I email photos, it will give me reduction options. So as you mention, I'll have to see if my editing programs have a reduction/compression option.
-
And photos too big for my 14" laptop
Sorry about that. My tablet didn't give me the reduction option and to be honest I wasn't expecting the photos to be that big on my PC. damn

Ditto, good bikes for cruising around Thailand

I was pondering building another house in town, but getting a decent size condominium might be tempting

If it's convenient for you, you can also drop into the DLT and they normally have a counter top card in Thai and English that advises of all documents required. To add, (my also having another country licence & IDP) when I gained my license, i was never required to carry out a road or written test, but did the reaction test and watched the video (which had me laughing). This was a few years ago and requirements my have varied.

Aplogies for the turned photos, as my Galaxy Tab 3 gives no warning on the uploads.

Says who? [emoji3]Great on buttered toast or crackers. You can't just eat it with a spoon.

And buy some non-conductive (silicon type) grease which will help weather proof and stop the connectors from oxidzing. All the plugs on my bike are done this way. You should be able to buy the grease from any mountain bike shop. If you're unsure as to the electrical properties of the grease you've purchased, just dab some grease on an insulated surface, stick in the probes (don't let them touch together) from a multimeter and carry out a resistance check. No sound (mine has the option) or indication, then you are good to go using it as stated above.Take the old one to an auto electrical shop, and see if they can match it, especially robust ones are made by Bosch, and keep it as a spare. Price should be half what a bike shop would charge. 500 baht sounds expensive.

For my friends in the forum, from what I can gather, someone was trying to gain control of my account by submitting a bogus 'password recovery' request. I recieved an automated email from ThaiVisa and was asked if this was correct. Obviously it wasn't. Nice to see ThaiVisa watching my back

Different animal mate. It is not a solenoid. They are generally an easy fix as well. Unplug, plug in a new one. A good thai mechanic and yes there is such a thing in Thailand, will be able to show if it is functioning correctly or not.is the relay the same thing as the solenoid? anyone know the Thai word for it??
Sticking starter relay perhaps. It's a common fault on some other brands.

You can also purchase ear buds that will conform to the shape of your ear and less chance of them working their way out. Thanks for the Sena info guys, I'll look into getting one, I was just thinking about sticking my earbuds in my ears and running the cable to my phone.

When we've gone to a new restaurant, my wife always states in the order tamada (original), when the staff look my way. Normally that will bring smiles to their faces when my wife explains to them that I'm used to Issan style cuisine and they can just make it as per the norm.I was traveling with friends in the region last week, and when eating in a couple of restaurants were asked the "hot, medium or mild" question.
In both cases the food was good but the medium was mild and the hot less spicy than the medium in the first establishment.
I was wondering if the local nosh shops reduce the chili automatically for farangs, the only experience I can recall that reduced me to a tearful nose running wreck was a place out near the old airport that seemed to be full of students.
That was a few years back and I no longer seem to be able to find the place.

Never had an issue with CTEK chargers on my batteries, though my batteries are the maintenance free type. Perhaps go that route and ditch the wet, lead acid one.

If they wanted to resolve these jet ski scams, they would have years ago. It is quite obvious what is going on. And there is too much money being made on the fleecing of tourists. Meetings, meetings, meetings. Does anything get done? Do any of the jet skis get confiscated? Do any of these operators get arrested and convicted? Or, is that entire industry above the law?
One word comes to mind:
- Procrastination is the practice of carrying out less urgent tasks in preference to more urgent ones, or doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, and thus putting off impending tasks to a later time, sometimes to the "last minute" before a deadline.
