Here are some simple ideas about this case:
- They stole several items, but only few items could be directly related.
- Got caught red-handed and took an aggressive stand-off.
- Police arrived and the thieves resisted arrest.
- Bail was denied, as the couple resisted arrest even at the police station.
- Foul language was used consistently by the thieves.
- They refused to contact the Swedish embassy and relatives prior to court ruling.
- They thought they could handle this by themselves.
- Foul language was used at the court.
- Hash punishment was ruled by the court.
All these parts, should give this kind of court ruling anywhere in the western world.

Lucky the sentence was reduced with behaviour like that!!!one of my ex's was
1- accused of hitting a german for no reason( does one need one?, the German had thrown water over him and a young thai lady holding a tiny baby twice, and the first time he asked him not to again, he did-so received what they got in WW1 and WW2, a dam good thrashing as the brit's say!)
2- then his son who showed bruises to prove this (later a doctor proved these were 2/3 day's old)
3- then kicking a policeman ( he did this as the policeman shoved him badly)
4- possessing a dangerous weapon- a comb!
5-bullied because all he asked for was our 'magic' lawyer
7- charged with unlawful possion of drugs, -sleeping tablet's
8-and possesion of a porno DVD-
6- told by both the German and the police that a little money would help this matter go away
the German wife's thai family suddenly showed up and all became witnesses demanding huge mount of money and travel expense's,
things changed when the young thai lady made her statement and the lawyer came
this was on thai TV, the newspaper's... even after my ex was let go...
this is why we simply cannot just take things at face value

I sent it as a photo attachment to my friend from Myanmar (who now lives in Australia). Actually, she was just on a list of several people I sent it to.
The last time we wrote to each other, we were giving each other life updates because we've both married since we last saw each other. She was all happy, and we were sending wedding photos back and forth. All was just normal -- so something in this photo must have angered her? I meant it to be funny.

I think you may have heard this all before ... i am new to this forum but i am in desperate need of advice !!
I am 31 years old, business owner. I own my home. I have a 9 year old beautiful girl from a previous relationship - and a 18 month old girl to my Thai wife. This is what makes it's so difficult. My wife know's i couldn't bare it if my daughter was to leave and be fetched up to be a prostitute - which is one of her threats.
My wife was a bar girl from pattaya. I knew her a year before we married. She came to live with me in England. Everything was fine, she got pregnant within 2 months of being in England ( which was not planned - but was happy all the same )
My wife changed - started demanding i put £10,000 in a bank for security for her. Of cause i declined this ... whats mine is her's so she shouldn't need security. I have kept her - which i know i should i took that responsability. But she will not cook or clean the house. It's neally every day we go for a meal. I have asked her if she doesn't like the role of a house wife if she would like to work - guess her reply .... " No i will not - you should keep me"
After our daughter was born - she was worse. She doesn't have postnatal depression - if your wondering. It concerns me greatly as all her actions are done infront of our daughter, which this doesn't bother her. I am not saying she doesn't love our daughter - she does but when she loses her head she is nasty.
She as stabbed me (x3) . Another occasion She got drunk and started to head butt the wall - you may think i am making this up, because no sane person would do this. Then she said she was going to the police to say i had done it !! I got the baby and left her in the house and stayed at my parents. The next day she went to the doctors - spoke to a health worker and said i had done it, she was sober at this !!
Just before that i should had she got her indefinate leave visa - as she as been here over 2 years. Since she as got this she is worse than ever.
I have taken her on 7 holidays - 4 of them back to Thailand. I found out she been using our home computer to go on a dating site - she denied this and said it was my sister - who is married by the way and happy. This could have caused her problems but she just doesn't speak to her no more.
worse is still to come .... 2 thousand pound as gone missing, i know its her as she was the only one who knew where it was. When confronted she goes ballistic and packed her case and stayed with one of her Thai friends - she as 5 Thai friends so its not like she as no-one to talk to.
Her mother came over for a 2 week stay - then she said it was a month - now she said she as a 3 month visa. I have kept her mother too, took her out for meals, even gave her money to go clothes shopping at christmas. I had a large box full of coins and i said i was going to share it out and put it in my daughter banks. My wife took it all and said she put it in our daughter account. I knew there was £800 or so so i went and put the same in my eldests account - she went crazy again.
The final straw came when i came home to find her and her mother both drunk in the house - and our daughter as been ill and was being sick. I raised my voice and her mother went outside to the garage and got an axe and started chasing me with it. I grabbed my daughter once again and went back the next day and told her to pack and go, i have taken it off her Psyco daughter but she as no chance.
She told me when she goes she is taking her daughter and grandchild and i should pay the fares. I told her to take her daughter but she's not taking mine anywhere. My mother-in-law as left her husband as he his a lot older than her and has children whats adults - she was with him 9 years but because he is leaving his money to his children - she's left.
She's staying in a hotel, but is there anyway i could stop her taking my daughter. I know i was a meal ticket but if my daughter was not born i would have taken her to Thailand and left her.
With these alligations my wifes making - she could ruin me, it's me with the scars !! can anyone advise what i can do - if anything. If she's saying this to doctors and such - should i try and explain my side but who to, do i contact immigration, home office.
I had to send a letter ( welcome letter) to her mother for her to apply to come to the uk - i do not want to see her again, can i get in touch with someone to say i do not want her to my home again. If my wifes stays she will have to visit her mother. My daughters going to grown up with a complex personality.
anyone with same situations - what did you do. My head is throbbing i don't know what to do ???

International flights are a whole different game and assessment and the gift of gab is important but the rules of search and seizure are very different.
If we stop to think about it, a 19 year old flying in from Bangkok with a slight limp, perhaps a little overheated after flying for hours in an icebox, looking left and right, seemingly a bit nervous at the first check point. Dead man walking. Even if his shoes size was a 6 that is enough heroin for personal use for a year. A presumptive test was conducted on the white powder that was discovered in the shoe which is 100% accurate for the presence of heroin. Further tests as to purity will be done at the leisure of the authorities for the court case.

now dog's are mainly trained to sniff out bombs
Again, not quite true, dogs can be trained (amongst other animals) to sniff out many things, the dogs trained for explosives are associated to a different branch of police/anti-terrorist departments.

As trainer of police dog in my past 25 yrs i see sometings....wrong about this story, also why in bangkok airport( in chang mai they have 2) i never see dog for that work that till now are the only one can find drug very easy...same in australian airport why they dont have a dog for chek at all gate..

thanks to our lawyer he is now back working happily- we even got his conviction overturned....
one ex-boyfriend of mine got onto a fight in pattaya,deported because he took the knife of the man( I think tranny) and stabbed him/her with it....... he was back a few month's later
do I like and approve of this- not really- but I hope you understand that this is how it works here

one man was wrongly accused and wrongly convicted - we helped as we saw this was wrong-his case was dealt with correctly- we would not help a man guilty of somethng
unless it was for an offense that we do not think a person should go to jail for ( like being a junkie)
I think most law's should be respected and followed
but I do not follow, nor respect most of the law's surrounding the personal choice and use of certain drugs for one's own personal use

We have been gettiing on quite well- I do see your points beside the fact that I do ot subscribe to international law( and have never suffered due to this) and my personal belief that this is a free world and should be allowed to go where one chooose,
and that thailand is basicly owned by the west, so how can one be deprted from a place one owns indirectly???
( again I wrote about this and was warned by the mod's- I got some hate mail when I reminded people of how the west bombed bangkok when the locals were naughty to prove my point about how thailand is really a western colony in the worst sense)

sitting next to mrs studefarm I heard a british prisoner actually tell her " oh, I have been kicked out before, I ill go back to UK, get a new passport and justcome straight back here"

If you can't piss then they can't make you however they can hold you down and take your blood. They do this to people in the US who refuse a breathalyzer for DUI stops.
They do? Hmmmmmm... May I ask what state are you referring to? I do not know all the states' laws in relation to DUI offenses but I have never heard that one before. Sounds like an urban myth... I do know that if you refuse a breath analyzer test the you are like automatically forfeiting your license for a year in most states.
So some court has made a ruling to over rule a previous ruling that said they couldn't. These types of things go back and forth all the time in courts.....typical....seems like certain legislation needs to be upgraded or changed to make this a permanent decision. In most places the cops cant hold someone down to take a blood sample unless a warrant is obtained.

Drug crackdown in nation's jails
Corrections Department chief Natthee Jitsawang said yesterday his office would join forces with the Army and police on Wednesday to wipe out drug dealing in five prisons.
The 300-strong Big Cleaning Days force, with medical backup and sniffer dogs, will carry out urine tests in Klong Prem, Bangkwang, Khlong Pai and Khao Bin prisons and the Central Correctional Institution for Drug Addicts.
They will also look for mobile phones used to order narcotics.
Natthee said he had instructed prisons nationwide to conduct similar searches at the same time.

some people regard their prisons as the best run in the region( which is not really saying that much)
yet every year record hauls are recorded... crime ith drug is on the increase,we, the public only hear of small amount what is found in prison's ( I am told this and cannot claim it as fact) because, as here the drug's are supplied by the staff
