Western tourists will never go off visiting Thailand. In fact, quite the contrary. There are many reasons…

    Simple, transparent, user-friendly visa procedures.

    Supportive, welcoming, 'jai dee' government.

Uniform and fair application of common sense rules and regulations.

Reasonable prices for all tourist services.

Honesty and integrity of tourist-related businesses.

    Unspoiled natural attractions.

Incorruptible security and world-class public safety.

Yes…without question…untold multitudes of well-heeled, free-spending, quality farangs will be soon be arriving...to much TAT fanfare.

How do I go to THAT Thailand?

I understand that people who have had Covid and recovered can still generate a (false) positive PCR test, because dead cells might remain in the body for up to 3 months.

You know you had Covid and can do your best to deal with this issue. Good luck by the way.

What I wonder is how many people have had asymptomatic Covid without knowing it; then end up getting a false positive test and all that results from that. We shall never know.

The obession with testing needs to be put into perspective, especially  now that we have the milder Omicron.  In the early stages mass testing was useful and necessary. It worked in Germany until it didn't.

I am not saying we can do away with testing, but rethink on testing is necessary.

Wouldn't it be correct to have a positive test if have Covid and are asymptomatic? You can still transmit it?

  3. I really like my T-fal frying pan. It has a see-through glass lid with a vent. Good when you have something thicker to cook. And, obviously, you can see how the food is doing.

I have seen it used on a Korean cooking show where all the contestants used one.

I've never used Western Union so can't comment. I'm happy with Wise which I use for all international transfers and foreign payments. But if you only need to do a couple of one off payments the need to create an account and confirm ID with Wise may be more than you wish to do.

Thanks. Having never done this before comments by others who have are very helpful.

Easy to figure out with a modern cash register, try doing the same at a mom & pop store.

OP, according to their website, you should have been able to get a refund if you left the paid area within 5 minutes:

Passenger has entered the Paid Area but intends to leave the Paid Area at the same station within 5 minutes from the time of entering the Paid Area. Passenger must make request for refund at the Ticket Office before leaving the Paid Area.

    https://www.bts.co.th/eng/tickets/ticket-conditions.html

Most people, Americans included, couldn't figure that out in their heads. I've seen people working it out with a pen and paper or a calculator.

If they have never had the idea to do it, it befuddles them

Sounds like you don't have a Transferwise account yet.

And that is the first job to do. Setup an account.

Do you plan to use it repeatedly in the future?

Otherwise I might be questionable to go through account setup (load up ID, proof of address) just for a single use of $100.

Thanks for the knowledge. What is the best way for a single use?

  7. I want to send money to a couple of Thai friends that I've known for years. I haven't sent money to Thailand in many years and, from what I can gather on this site, Transferwise is the best way to send about $100. Yes, I know what I am doing and am not crazy. Well, maybe a little. But that's needed in today's world.

I am asking because I would imagine things may have changed with the Covid thing. Up-to-date instructions and tips would be appreciated.

What do they need to do to get the money? What do they need to tell me?

    Kawp khun krup.
