Even if they are allowed to open, will they open?

(Gogo) bars need customers and big bars need lots of customers when they want to be able to afford lots of candy on stage.

And in the moment there are just not enough customers for all those bars.

It seems some owners who own several bars think about opening maybe one of them and then look what will happen.

Now some (many?) bar owners have arrangements with their landlords because the bars are closed. If they open again then those landlords want more money. Will the bars make enough money to afford that? For many the answer is probably: No.

Get it occasionally. They probably get an upset stomach sometimes like we all do.

    How do you treat it?

He should just ask her.  Thais are not generally backward in coming forward about money (or lack thereof).

They need to know the pecking order so the wealthiest person is the one that pays the restaurant bill.

In fact she'll probably consider it an insult that he hasn't asked her yet.

Asked her to pay the bill in the restaurant?

  5. I have always toyed with the idea of converting a shophouse to a loft-type abode.

My stereotype of Thais is that they view real estate as a place to bank money. Not as keen on thinking about return on investment as Westerners. IMHO  I'm sure there are many exceptions.

Surely there must be a 7.11 close to you so you can go in and look as not all do have it.

And booze is not available from 2-5pm, and I think that it has not been since 2014 when you joined TV/AN.   LOL

My experience has been the rule has not always been universally enforced. There were times I had no problem buying whisky at supermarkets anytime.

Thailand is effectively closed as of now because of the statement made to stop T & G

Nobody is going to trust coming to Thailand, and on Day 7 have PCR test that could be positive, and then confined to an expensive Quarantine Facility

Isn't insurance that covers possible quarantine a requirement? I get confused by all the changes.

OK, the Omicron situation is not so bad yet here ( possibly ), but the Omicron variant has displayed its rampant nature already around the Globe, doubling every 2 Days..

For Sure Thailand will get the Omicron Virus Variant, but its a question of how soon it become a real issue here.

    Best wishes

A real issue when they do more testing.

A bit more difficult now for the uber-rich British tourists to get here.

Which airline will be the next one to cancel?

    Any other ideas TAT?

I fly EVA from the States and they canceled all flights to BKK last year. I just want to spend my money. 555

I would hate to have to fly an American airline. I have been seeing they code share with KAL.

  10. I remember when I first starting visiting Thailand in 1983 Thais wore their gold when they went out. Lots. The women looked good in it. You don't see that anymore. I also remember people who had been out socially were followed home by guys on a motorbike and relieved of their showy necklaces.

And there is a bit of discrimination against non-Thais in Thailand. Never will be seen as equal. What if one day non-Thais were thought to be overtaking Thais in numbers in Thailand? I guarantee there would be a problem.

Whites see they will soon be outnumbered by non-Whites in the States.
