nowhere i see an extra reference about the type of a spouse ext. would be a reason for entrance or for only favoring only those married , and extended under the "married to Thai extension ", they talk about married ones...eg. only legally married , and of course being able to produce that "Kor or ror " thing (dont know the correct name ) if not in possession wherever they were outside Thailand the proof of marriage was needed....! ,and i guess not all of married to Thai walk or travel around the globe with that paper in their pocket , so there could arise the same problem that a document needed to be produced to the embassy's and for some that could be the problem maybe .... For your marriage ext you must also put 400K , however not that long, as you can take it out after the in consideration time is ended with the O.K. stamp , so a profit . For the ret. ext. situation you can also see the 800K as a reserve 800K , as saved money for emergency happenings , example replacing a insurance , 5 months you have to keep up to 800K, and 7 months you can use 400K , and then top up again to 800K for next ret ext. Not one I.O. visited my address in the 8 years of ret. ext. based on money on bank 800K , only the needed doc. and next day collect stamped passport , good for another year , and for Jomtien I.O. just 3 months later a jump in no waiting to show bank balance still up to 800K at least ....

that is why only the 7 day number kept in my head
