ok just asking last year when I went to report and show my UpToDate bank book showing that the 800k was still in my bank after the 3 months needed.
The Immagration check it all and said here is your bank book back all good off you go.
We all know that the immigration is going through a big witch hunt in its own departments. and checking everything to find faults and ask for extra money off their customers. if errors are found on your next visit.
Example using a bent so-called agent to do your 90 days or other reporting's.
So it begs the question where oh where is the piece of paper that says you even came in to report your 800k on 3 months after due date? They never give a receipt so show you been in and reported.
It is their word against yours if at a later date the <deleted> hits the fan because some lazy officer forgot to input your visit in correctly and we all know who wins in that argument. 1900 bhat please.
Do you guys get any written acknowledgement of your visit?
No,
even worse ..., i asked a desk 8 officer what is the fine , or action if i don't do it ?? (did it all the years already but because of mass queuing at Pattaya Jomtien immigration in COVID time ...)
Answer : no fine or anything else ..... just if not in full 800K bht on account and noticed by renewing the ext. could be denied the Ret.ext.
SO now you know why no proof of that visit is delivered

But then we don't know what the paymasters game plan is, without doubt it will be a plan to get him into a position of authority. Thailands trump syndrome.
Given that he was an 'elected' PM and then convicted and sentenced to jail on several cases by a legitinate court (no folks it wasn't a military kangaroo court) I wonder what the Thai law says about running for office / holding any future political / bureaucratic positions in the future.
There is a precedent with manarat who did several years time in an OZ jail and prayut claimed 'it wasn't in Thailand so it was nor relevant. A big difference is that the paymaster was a sitting PM in Thailand when he committeed serious offence.
A very big % of Thais would not be agreed with that .....
We shall know soon as he arives ( or not ....)

Except that when it rains you can't use the 800k, without losing your visa.
you are right for the continuing of the ret.ext. you mean ....,but for 5 month's you can use 400K....????
Hopefully the heavy rain problems could be repaired by time ????
And when some is in real heavy <deleted> rain you can still take the complete sum , it is still your own money they force us in a forced savings for that ,
when you have it on your Thai bank you have still a rescue ship to sail home country ....,???? not a burned one as some live sadly enough on here in LOS .....
Depends how you consider the 800/400 rule

Emergency savings that depreciated by an average of 32,500 baht per year over the last 20 years. The last 10 years were less dramatic, at only about 10,000 baht per year depreciation (not including 2023 in calculation).

There's a nice calculator for this:
1,240,000 baht in 2023 is worth 800,000 baht in 2003.
Thanks ....i keep it in mind to keep in account the augmentation for whenever ????
BTW i always considered that needed immigration money as a emergency savings for a rainy day ????

What does it matter how long 800k has been the required amout......800k is already a tidy sum of money....I sure dont see pension raising that much in the last 20 years or incomes unless maybe you work with computers...
800k should absolutly not be raised ...
i did not mentioned a certain sum ....., only that 800K a 10 years or more ago was more worth than present times ..... hence sooner or later this could logically reasonable ( hopefully )raised
I dont like rising prices neither ..... but look around what happens .......
Logically it can not stay forever the same level

Yet 800K is not particularly low from a global perspective.
Citing a number of countries with retirement visas where the number is considerably lower (not an inclusive list of all such countries).
Cambodia
Philippines
Malaysia (Sarawak province only) (income method)
Portugal (first world country)
Ecuador
Colombia
Peru
Chile (first world country)
Nicaragua
Costa Rica
Panama
Dominican Republic
Uruguay
Argentina
Mauritius
To add, the current average U.S. government retirement pension is 59K baht.
That is UNDER the current 65K income requirement here,
Raise from 800K?
Really?
Why?(Perhaps of academic interest -- the requirement for South Africa is slightly higher than Thailand and like Thailand allows a combination of income and banked money to qualify.)
only referring to the long time it is the same .......
following the logic that since first all prices or pensions went up , we all like our money to rise , but we dont like our expenses to rise ......
I am only referring to the logic 800K 10 years (ore more) ago was more worth than now ....
I wish it stays the same , but expect different .....

@Lite Beer Thank you. So the retirees applying under this section would now be a minimum of 80 years old for the 50,000/500,000 route, or 85 years old for the 20,000/200,000 route, with a minimum consecutive stay in Thailand of 25 years.
This must be a small subset of retirees.
Also have to consider that those 800 K is already a very long time same amount ....
while in all those years our pensions are became higher year by year ( at least mine did so) ....so it would not be a surprise if a moderate augmentation could becoming considered.

You can find yourself just as compromised having to explain a legitimate source for far more paltry sums to UK customs (£1K and up) baggage check/xray staff are given a daily threshold amount to notify customs
yes , and even small coins are counted into that 9999 amount , as we all know the uniform gives power.....to inform , and person has to keep it on himself .....
carrying for a companion , wife or elses is not allowed into the max. sum 9999 (or less).
Each person can only carry his OWN max. 9999 , no excuses accepted to carry it for your very old mum or dad for security reasons ....
Beware !!

Flying out of the UK it is 10,000 quid....
Read very good!!
You must declare cash of £10,000 or more to UK customs
Meaning you must declare STARTING from 10 000 ...so 9999 no declaration needed....
Same "confusion trick " in Europe ,dont give costoms a chance ????

The fault MFW did is the lease majesty issue.....this can not be achieved in this decade ...not in this Thailand....
However they won the election , this promise could not be accomplished , that was a golden vote winning goal / promise for them....but it blocked them the same time .

Some people might not be able to get this in Thailand, so they would have to travel back home just for such a requirement.
On my request online to my E.U.country Justice department delivered it in to 3 weeks by mail on my Thai address .
While officially living in Thailand and registered with my address at my BKK embassy
So not impossible to get the needed if you are entitled to get one .....

I need a small safety deposit box in Pattaya. I asked at the BKK bank office in the suburbs where I have my account, but they said all BKK bank boxes in Pattaya are rented out.
I may also want to move my banking to a more central location. Kasikorn on S. Pattaya have boxes but the reception lady said that I needed to live with a Thai girl to have one, and she put her index fingers together to explain better. To just get an account my retirement visa and a "proof of paying rent" + copy of hotel owner ID would suffice.
I spoke to the agency that processed my visa. They said they could issue a document that cost 500 b and would give me a bank account "with 80% probability". But no help with the box.
So what would be the best way to get my banking into a more central location. Kasikorn on S Pattaya would be perfect. Maybe try to get an account there and ask again about the safety box? There is a legal office with boxes on S Pattaya and also Siam Secure on Middle Pattaya Road. But I would prefer a bank. Siam Secure web page wouldn't load.
What options are there to get a safety box? May also ask at Kasikorn on Middle Pattaya road. (Kasikorn has hopefully dumped the fraudulent branch manager the papers wrote about a couple of years ago.)

More than half of the infectees had leukopenia, and more than a third had thrombocytopenia, with a smaller number being reported to have impaired liver or kidney function.[2]
