My point is that you are 70+ and need to reside in Belgium apparently to make the insurance work. So, you're back and forth on planes racking up thousands in bills there. But more importantly how many years do you think that you can shuttle yourself back and forth and still keep your sanity and your health after 75? Perhaps Belgium isn't a 20 hour flight but I'm guessing it's not an 8-hour flight either. These days it's not so much even the flight it's the connections and all of the rubbish sort of security people that you bump into as well as dehumanizing treatment in airports.

you must be in bad condition i guess if that is too much to handle ...as flight does not bother me for 1 up and 6 months later  1 return

As i fly 11, 30 in one direction direct flight as a non smoker who do not need  his cigarette in between a stop flight ☺️

This need only done 1 time coming and 1 time flying back

I have no complaints except shoulders cracking , nothing else from whatever 70 + can have (at least for now ..... knocking wood ????)

short said , i have so free covering for 3 months hospitalization while visiting a foreign country , included repatriation ....

If any incident would needed more than 3 months , i am sure  by "thaksin way ????" i could make a deal with doctor for need for repatriation proof .....

It is for me ,as a  not having any "anchors " in Thailand a good solution  thanks to my Socialist E.u. country (said with tongue in cheek way) good solution , and taking the advantages of both country's

    April Assistance , 518/3 Maneeya Center,Ploenchit rd.,10400 Bangkok, Thailand

this is the intermediator to the eventual Thai hospital to give the assurances for payment  (information from the certificate in English delivered by my Belgian social security system )

This is just idle dreaming. At 75+ you'll have to pick a country. The idea of 25 hour flights just not gonna get it champ. But good job brainwashing yourself.

I do not undetstand what you mean

I am 3 months max insured by my country health care ,repatriation included..., if any intervention should go takes more than 3 months if am sure repatriaton will be arranged ....and as i plan now to live 1/2 half Belgium and half ( or less) Thailand i find it a good solution .

They wrote already a nice detailed letter in English for showing hospital as guaranteeing for costs if needed ....

Advantage of E.U. nanny state ????

I have mentioned this before and others say that expat policies that cover in Thailand, but are not Thai policies, max out at about $500 a month and you can get insured at any age.

Its one of the factors on whether I should seriously consider Mexico or not.

Which is it, inquiring minds want to know?

I solved that by taking residence again in home country and so now intitled to hospitalization insured  by my country healtcare system when holliday ....but for max. 3 month ( repatriation included) this included in my yearly contribution of 89 Euros .

So when planning future time half Thailand and half home country as a Silver Snow bird i avoid to loose my life savings on Thai insurance / hospital price scam....

    As a 70+ ????

Justice whispers: Thaksin’s sentence may shrink yet.

Every Thai and Expat in Thailand knows exactly what is about to transpire for Thaksin.

Soon they start decorating his office as Pm i guess...... only now missing the official excuses from P. & others for making that coup ....cheesy.gif

Thaksin haters ...i hope your blood pressure keeps O.K.  as hard times for you all   ????

oh ....! this is fun  to see this happening ????

Yes, but this thread is about fraud by bank employees, not scammers.

    correct ,

but my recent reply was as answer to your latest comment about never happening by U.K. banks .....so both of us are drifting away from original post of mistrust putting money on Thai banks ....., meaning by me

Thai banks are no worse than western banks

So best we  keep it at that finally i think. ????

I've personally never heard of money mysteriously disappearing from UK bank accounts. But that's just me.

I was referring to the example of online phishing fraud ,not directly about the "inside bank jobs" .....

Several examples in my E.U. country of online fraud by copied Bank-sites an spoofed phone numbers from bank , and so fake represented bank officials on client doorstep after.....(especially older persons as victims )

Those staff who do an honest job aren't the problem. The problem is that in Thailand there are those who do not and it isn't unusual to read of them. Those are the problem, and any of us could be a victim at any time. And quite often the banks deny all responsibility, the default action for anything that goes wrong in Thailand.

Is it any different with western  banks ? who even refuse to pay back in online fraud .....when even a independent  bank authority service advised to  compensate the victim ...?

When it comes to pay / compensate they use every trick of the book ..... wherever on Earth ....,not an exclusivity of Thai banks .......

And sure be aware not to believe % investments who are too nice to be true .......as they are as so

And, meanwhile, the government demands, insists, that we keep funds in a Thai bank in order to live with our wife and/or in retirement.

in my almost 14 years being at KK bank i never experienced a fault by using them needed for my NON O ret.Ext.  Money on bank system.

Also by leaving Thailand and Non O last Sept., i could almost all transfer out to my E.U. bank(s) without no problem , all came in legally ...., so all could go out easy

.....There lies  the problem maybe for those being afraid to put money on Thai banks ....!?

    To quote Wissanu-

Thaksin can no longer seek further royal clemency, having already received a royal pardon, and he must serve the remaining 1-year sentence without the possibility of sentence reduction. This solidifies the assertion of unassailable royal authority.

Thaksin's sentence currently is one year. He's eligible for parole after serving a third of the current sentence, hence the four months.

Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's sentence could be further reduced, according to outgoing Justice Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam.

Wissanu said Thaksin might receive another royal pardon on the birthday of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which falls on December 5.

Thaksin's sentence was previously reduced from 8 years to 1 year, and since his sentence is now 1 year, he would be eligible for another royal pardon on auspicious occasions, just like other inmates, Wissanu said.

I don't suppose you understand who gave the pardon. It's sacred and not open to discussion or debate.

Give Thaksin some credit. He could have continued his life of luxury abroad, but returned to be imprisoned.

Besides .....in December there was / is  always a general pardon for a category of inmates ....., hence maybe the 1 year sentence ......a step by step handling maybe ☺️
