  1. "In this regard, all sectors of Thai society have been urged to join the reform efforts."

General, please, whatever you do, never ask the majority of TVF members as it is amazing how ignorant they are on Thai political issues.

The only thing they know is to repeat themselves, asking for your good self to go away, without realizing or even thinking that this will put Thailand back to the old days of corruption, disrespect of the law and the constitution.

Please, take your time and reform this country........elections and democracy can wait.

Thailand is not ready yet to face them again.

What brand of boot polish do you use to polish his Jackboots?

So does your comment mean you want Thailand to go back to the way it was?

I want Thailand back the way it was ie democratic.

  2. Maybe she was shopping ???whistling.gif

No this time she was not shopping.

She was just told by her advisers that she is too dumb to answer any questions so she better stay home.

To the disappointment of the judges and myself waiting for her to get ridiculed.....[/quote)

So dumb she becomes her country's PM. What's your claim to fame? Bazooki plucker?

  3. Interesting to hear the outcome of this story.

I hope we get an update.

May Wichai Raksilp Rests in Peace.

Don't know if we hear an update, but I'm sure the boy and his parents will be punished as they deserve to be.

The days of being lenient have gone......we are experiencing a new era in Thailand.

Are all specs in Greece rose-coloured? Maybe just yellow-coloured.

  4. Supremacy of the law?

More like supremacy of the junta!

She hasn't fled there's been no tears just grace and dignity and this farce is only going to make her more popular than ever before no matter which way it goes.

The self proclaimed peoples champion hides behind a monks robe ignoring court summonses and currying favour for his divisive efforts in bringing down Thailands elected government while this lady stands face to face with her accusers.

If the general thought he would wipe the Shinawatras off the political map then sadly for the junta and yellow dems the complete reverse is happening.

She has more dignity in her little finger than the entire junta and democrats (same same?) have between them. Confound them brave and lovely lady.

  5. I'm waiting for some members to explain why the UK government will assist it's industrial powers to try to get a piece of the cake and deal with what some like to describe as a 'pariah state'.

How nice to be principled ermm.gif

Even a junta sympathiser like yourself should have the nouse to realise that Kent is only paying lip service to the host country. He'll nod and agree with everything they say, that's what he's paid to do until he receives instructions to the contrary from the FCO in London. It's called diplomacy. Being an ex employee of the British foreign service I can speak with some knowledge of these things. What he won't do is say something like "Yes, we whole heartedly disaprove of your "pariah state", but we'd love to do business with you. To imagine that is being a little juvenile.

  6. The government of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will open more channels--including counter services at shopping malls--for accepting complaints from the Thai public

The lines will be clogged with the bitter and twisted from TVF.

Here are some classic complaints from here that will ensure the line disappears into the car park. My top eight if you will.

1/ When the Junta remove 5 students at a speech in Khon Kaen the complaints were they will never be seen again When they are seen again and free without charge the complaints were only let go because the Jurassic junta did not appreciate that the clip of them being removed by gun toting thugs would go viral world wide so quickly I expect. BTW those 5 gun totting thugs turned out to be 5 unarmed people, 2 of which were women weighing under 50kg.

2/ When the Junta say they wont have a referendum for the constitution the complaints were This is typical of a military take over where the voice of the people is squashed When the Junta change there stance and aim for a referendum for the constitution the complaints were This will be a rigged referendum and all will be forced to vote yes

3/ When Prayut and his team did not declare assets the comments were The PTP are way more democratic and transparent because they did declare their assets. When Prayut and his team do declare their assets the sarcastic comments are No doubt all those outstanding members of society have earned their money through hard labor and honesty.

4/ Before the Junta arrest one of their own the comments are "The Junta are corrupted and would never arrest within their own ranks" When the Junta arrest one of their own. It is a PR stunt.

5/ When the police chief was not reinstated it was a conspiracy by the DEM's and the courts. When he is reinstated, it is nepotism.

6/ When the Junta found a small amount of weapons it was "An insignificant weapons find" When they found 10% of all weapons finds in 14 years it is "A fake news story".

7/ Before the Junta paid the rice farmers it was "They don't care about the farmers" When they paid the farmers it was "They are a populist Junta"

8/ When the Junta DO support a non elected PM it was The Junta is not democratic. When the DEMS state a day later they DONT support it was The DEMS are non democratic When the PTP state the next day they DONT agree either it was The PTP are democratic and the DEMS and the Junta are not

Lots of complaints there to start with. Funny thing is it doesn't matter what the Junta do they will still complain.

Those 7%'ers have got to make you laugh with their logic. I call it PTP logic.

I wonder what they will say when they get to the car park in the mall and all the car parking spots are taken. Maybe "These Thai car parks are never big enough to hold everyones car and then grumble and complain BUT then going by their logic if the car park was empty they would say "See..djjamie WAS wrong. Consumer confidence is not any better"!!!" and then grumble and complain.

Have a good day my dear friends.

    Jeez man, get a life.

  7. Considering that a previous report said that over 80% of the road deaths and injuries involved motorbikes and with the number of vehicles on the roads then those who drive things other than motorbikes can not be too bad.

I watch road behavior carefully and for the most part it is good but as everywhere there are idiots out there who weave in and out of traffic, travel far to fast, pass on blind spots and drive after drinking, unfortunately it is mostly the idiots who cause the crashes and often take others with them.

See the report on the speeding Merc that swerved to the wrong side of the road and took out a pickup.

Quote I watch road behavior carefully and for the most part it is good.....Unquote

Jeez, the standard of driving in NZ must be diabolical.

  8. I could care less if the executions of violent criminals are unpleasant as long as there is not doubt that they are guilty. However, every so often the justice system makes a mistake and that makes me question the death penalty.

On the other hand plenty of convicted killers have been released and gone on to kill again, sometimes more than once, which makes me support the death penalty.

  9. Space programs requires sophisticated knowledge and resources, more over millions are dollars are involved. And they have to start with missile programs, and launch pads, etc. It is achievable in 25-30 years for sure if delicately working. But Thailand should not enter in this industry for fancy name and it is not tourist attraction anyway. Definitely migrant labors will not help in this matter, except manually skills are required.

At the moment every satellite operated in Thailand is fully owned by Thaksin company which is Thaicom. That's why Thai's are paying Baht 3/call while rest of the world is paying less than 1 baht. First experiment they should start with is, build a powerful communication satellite(For Telephones and Internet) and launch through foreign space agencies, and control from Thailand and sell the bandwidth to all telecom companies in Thailand and use the revenue to invest in space research.

At the moment most of the telecom revenue goes to Thaksin's family pockets, because Thaicom is monopoly in Thailand. That's how Farangs are paying B.1500/month for watch less than 5 worth English channels, and rest of Thailand is paying Baht.3 per minute calls.

And still they are debating about 3G/4G revenue sharing etc, because Thaicom is controls everything here. I doubt the big revenue making companies and politicians will allow Thailand to research on space programs.

Just when I thought that there was nothing else Thaksin could be accused of someone comes out and blames him for holding back the space program!

  10. Excellent result for good, honest government.

You have to admit there are so many improvements and a whole bunch of Crooks are now either locked-up or about to be locked-up.

Name one significant improvement. No, not booting off the beach vendors, they're all on their way back. Still plenty of tea money being handed over by motorists; jet ski and hire-vehicle scams alive and well in Pattaya and probably other beach resorts; mayhem on the roads as per usual etc etc etc. I can't honestly see any change at all except for a few political opponents put in the pokey.

  11. "He said that, in case a public referendum is recommended,"

Funny thing is if there is no referendum the red apologists will scream "undemocratic" and if there is a referendum and it does not suit the PTP agenda the majority will be denounced and ignored as it was in the 2007 referendum.

As shown through some of the negative narrative regarding the election this logical fallacy is already rising it's ugly head. Even the election is already boxed away in the red apologists warehouse of excuses. If they win the next election it is a "win for democracy" if they loose the next election it was because only candidates chosen and vetted by the military and the elites" will be the excuse.

The delay in elections actually put the PTP in a bad light. It shows that it takes time to dig a country out of undemocracy. From the coup in May 22nd to February, 2016 is 21 months. So pretty much 1 and a half months for every principle that the PTP failed to adhere to (yes, yes yingluck was elected) So in fact the Junta's only fault was being too generous with their deadline for elections in the first place.

Democracy won't happen overnight and it won't happen at the barrel of a gun like the UDD tried to do recently.

The yellow apologists are much funnier than the red apologists. Both apologists have selective memories, wear cast iron blinders regarding their chosen heroes, and try to label anyone who disagrees with their chosen heroes as being an apologist for the other side.

What bombastic infantile sophistry! Most human beings are centrists, not wing-nuts of any color.

The yellow apologists are more hilarious in that...they only have one Shin thing to Shin say about Shin anything. No viable Shin suggestions on how the country could have Shin stable political structures, nor one viable Shin suggestion about resolving the vast Shin and pervasive Shin social inequality that has been a Shin hallmark of Thai governments since a century before the Shins.

I can always count on djjamie for a laugh, unfortunately I am beginning to believe that he believes his own self-deceptions are justified and; therefore, acceptable.

    sick.gif

You've been somewhat selective too when it suits, and often appeared to be leaning more than a little in favor of Dr. T's brand of family run monopolistic corporate capitalism and half truth democracy.

Condemning a family clan based political party that was run based on nepotism, cronyism, corruption, illegality and out right lying doesn't automatically make the author a so called "yellow supporter" or a democrat, Suthep or Abhisit supporter. Nor does it mean they are a fan of the Junta. But it's easier to claim they are and dismiss there comments about the Shinattra party rather than address what are often embarrassing truths. Shinwattra controlled political parties have dominated the political scene for many years - and each incarnation has gone the same way. They haven't learned or changed and never will. Nor will the others.

There is no middle of the road, independent party here, acting for the benefits of the whole nation and its people. If only there was. But, that would rely on a strong impartial effective justice system which doesn't exist and doesn't really seem likely too. Thailand will only wake up when it's too late.

Ah, so sorry. There was I thinking that djjamie was a died in the wool, raving yellow apologist when all the time he was just a normal middle of the road chappie. Silly me.

  12. What is the confusion? The EC opposed the poll and advised Pheu Thai to cancel with a Royal Decree required to do so. Pheu Thai turned down the EC recommendation and did not seek a decree hence the poll had to go ahead regardless of EC's opposing view. Then Suthep's mob PCAD disrupted the booths.

I know this is hard for some to comprehend on here but the Dems and Suthep's mob are not the EC, are not the NACC, are not the Junta or any other authoritative, legislative, hidden hand or what ever mass group one wishes to label them. Perhaps where the difficulty with that understanding is that when Thaksin or one of his proxies are in control then all apart from the EC, NACC, courts and Army are under his patronage so the principle is expected and so the Red eyed mob then think that those opposed must be all under a yellow banner.

I thought the reason the Election was nullified is that there weren't enough seats with candidates to vote for and the EC told PTP that it was therefore going to be an illegal election and not to proceed with it . I think they should be suing PTP for refusing to halt the election when they were told many times not to hold it.

A bit like the rice scam - lots of people said don't do it, but PTP went ahead anyway. Just add the Bt3B to the Bt600B from the Rice Scam,

Plus there are 2 more scams waiting to be investigated - Student Tablet Scam Bt??B and the first Car buyers Scam Bt??B

One could surmise the PTP held the election knowing that its failure would benefit them immensely. As you stated everyone warned them it would fail.

Even with the potential for violence and all the warnings pointing to a disruption yingluck never ordered the military out to monitor polling stations to ensure it ran smoothly. yingluck purported to have sent out 10 000 police to ensure it ran smoothly though yet a protest leader was shot dead with police no where to be seen and he was killed within 5 minutes from a police station!

The PTP are very very happy with the outcome of that failed election. They knew if it went ahead peacefully they would lose and then they would have to find another excuse for disrespecting the majorities wishes. This lack of majority support has already been proven through the data collected from the failed election. The way it panned out they can scream foul while purporting to still have the backing of the majority when in fact it is not the case.

If that really was the case and I was the present PM I'd call an election tomorrow.

Good job it's Christmas because you appear to enjoy living in fantasy land.

  14. One could also hold the ex Defence Minister, yingluck, responsible for the failed election as well.

Most organizations, independent agencies and the EC stated that the election will fail if held at this stage (February) due to disruption and potential violence. Of course yingluck decided to go ahead with it anyway and against all the advice of all these entities she did not, in her capacity as defense minister, order the army out to the poll booths.

But I suppose just as she was not responsible for the rice fiasco even when she was the boss of it she is also not responsible for the lack of the armies response during the election even though she was the boss of them as well.

So despite her bravery in attempting to confront the rabble by going ahead despite their threats, you blame her for the failed election and not the rent-a-mob who really were responsible. You really are priceless. Your warped opinions get more outlandish with every post. I have nothing but admiration for that fearless lady, she has bigger b@lls than all your yellowshirted pretenders put together.

If we ever see free and fair elections again she'll wipe the floor with the lot of you.

  16. Those against the NCPO also seem to get desperate if those halftruths and insinuations are any indication.

So you are supporting the "governments" attempts to contain the freedom of speech and their following outright lies?? You are a disgrace.................

You should take some of your medication : you are posting like a raving lunatic.

People who do not support what the Junta are doing to try and save Thailand from the mess made by the last bunch of dirty cronies are the disgrace. The grenade attacks on protestors and the cheering red-shirts who just heard the news of the young girl in Trat being murdered along with others will stay with me a long time.

If anyone wants to understand what a bunch of double-standard whining spoilt schoolboys most red-shirts are, they only need to read threads like this. Of course, they are strangely quiet when anything of real importance (like what their government got up to) crops up.

Nonsense. Lies and distortions. The solution to this debate is easy. Have an election now. Right now. And see if the non elected leader gets a majority.

It's either put up or shut up. Give all the people the vote yellow shirts and red shirts alike.....oh and prosecute those bomb planting terrorists who hijacked the airport.

If a poll with junta favorable results is not believed, how much chance would an election have?

Anyway, democracy is more than just elections. Thats why we are in the 'reforms first' position. No one wants to return to the situation as before the coup, no one but a handful of TVF posters that is.

No one but that unholy trio the Democrats, military and judiciary who are enjoying their free lunch. Enjoy it while you can boyos.
