Failed attempt at trying to get a non o in BKK
ubonjoe replied to AlexRRR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Laksi only appears on their mailing address. They just opened a office at a mall in Laksi and that created the confusion. -
There is more info about the birth registration at the US embassy here. https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/ It appears he would be under the "Adult Derivative Citizenship" info if he is 18 or over.

Multiple entries on single entry tourist visas
ubonjoe replied to novster's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is only for visa exempt entries at land border crossings (it was done in 2015). By air there is no written limit. -
How many days insurance do I need?
ubonjoe replied to Cletus's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They probably will not ask for proof of the the covid 19 insurance when you apply for a multiple entry tourist visa. Sixty days would be enough to get a Thailand Pass and enter the country. -
Help please - Visa options

I suggest you pay for the SHAextra+ hotel to get the Thailand pass and then if you return after the 1st it could be canceled. -

Failed attempt at trying to get a non o in BKK
ubonjoe replied to AlexRRR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You have to apply for the non-o visa at Chaeng Wattana immigration. Laski only does extensions for visa exempt entries. You would only use a TM86 form if you entered with a tourist visa. For visa exempt you use a TM87 form. Requirements are here: https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022C1_09.pdf -

ubonjoe replied to Oldterrier's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He is in Udon Thani. See my earlier post about the crossing to Vientiane from Nong Khai being open now. I suggested he contact a travel agency arrange the crossing since it requires you to be part of tour group. -
What if you're too ill?
ubonjoe replied to KhaoYai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your assumption is wrong. If you were to ill to travel to immigration and you had somebody do the extension for you it would not change the type of extension you would get as long as they had all the supporting documents for the extension based upon retirement. You would not get a extension for medical treatment that can be issued for up to 90 days. -

What if you're too ill?
ubonjoe replied to KhaoYai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I assumed it meant more than one caregiver. -
The US embassy does not certify translations. You can use any translation service and then have the translation certified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA in Bangkok. Most translation service can do the certification for you for a additional fee. Info for the certification is here. https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/publicservice/ขั้นตอนการรับรองเอกสาร

A first for me with Thai Immigration
ubonjoe replied to orchidfan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is not unusual for the approval to be done later than the report back date. I would guess that Division 3 is busy is the reason plus the holidays. Nothing to worry about since the under consideration stamp allows you to stay until it is approved. -

Qualifying for permanent residency...
ubonjoe replied to Nickelbeer's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is false info. You have to be working with a work permit and paying taxes for at least 3 years to apply for permanent residency. Info can be found it this long ongoing topic. Camerata's Guide to Permanent Residence -
Question about TM30 for covid extension.

I do screenshots on my mobile device all the time. On a Samsung device you touch both the power button and lower volume one at the same time, -
What if you're too ill?
ubonjoe replied to KhaoYai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is certainly a rule that allows for somebody to do the extension application and it is mentioned on the TM7 form for them. -
What if you're too ill?
ubonjoe replied to KhaoYai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thai is not required to apply for a extension at immigration that this topic is about. -
That is not the same situation as the post I was replying to. They merely neglected to extend his work permit in this and it was not canceled.
