Sorry but UK (and most EU) money laundering regulations and legal / regulatory rules state that to open an account, you must be a UK resident or EU and supply proof of address, ie an acceptable bill, and then a "background" check is effected. I assume you are not on a UK voters list or registered for council taxes, you will find it impossible. Like many suggest you should get an offshore bank account with say Hsbc, Lloyds, Skipton International etc. I'm sure some may disagree with what I have said, good luck.

As ever the figures are a myth, I flew last week with Emirates, the flight was code-sharing with Thai and another. Guess what....the rear half of the seating was closed off, ie no passengers. Overpriced flights and they are unable to fill them, so the Airlines share a flight, suggesting they are busy. They should get real and start some competitive prices, they forget life etc is harder for all nowadays.

Is it safe to order something on Aliexpress - experiences ?

The issue is mostly the carrier...If it's Fed Express or UPS then forget it, it will not through Customs. If it's Ali Express post or Thai Mail delivery I have always found it fine. -

Really Wish I Hadn't Invited My Friend To Visit
Pdavies99 replied to Brewster67's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Having lived/worked overseas for many years, when friends say they would like to come out, I suggest the following: Airport Taxi Contact numbers, a selection of Hotel prices, suggest the need for travel Insurance and why, state how much money to bring and double it, explain tactfully you are on a tight budget with no money to lenda nd finally which bars are best and sights to see. It might help to explain manners in Thailand as well. -
5000+ posts and he is asking stupid questions! Troll!

Would the next government be kinder to migrants and refugees?
Pdavies99 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand has has little or no respect for refugees or tourists. Now or ever in the past. If you have a large bank account you are begrudgingly allowed to visit End of! -

No envy at all....when I invest, I check out the performance and failures of the business and look at investment managers' history and reputation As for his lifestyle... it's great...and paid for by his investors! (OPM) -
Virgin Orbit: Richard Branson's space firm files for bankruptcy
Pdavies99 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Okay, I will admit I don't trust Richard Branson. He has had more than a few companies declare Bankruptcy and in general, the only losers are the investors who are in general wiped out. Meantime, Mr. Branson is in his balloon on his way to his private holiday Island to count his $$$! -
Are you prepared for emergency illness
Pdavies99 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
In the UK, any emergency illness would be immediately seen and treated. As to costs, it depends on whether you state you have returned permanently to live in the UK, then no cost. Or as a UK visitor, potentially pay as you go! -
I know many have bad health issues such as yours, but quite often it is just a short-term inflammation. Consider one or two weeks of taking 50mg daily of Diclofenac Sodium, (or 25mg twice daily) it is a Non Steroid Anti Inflammatory drug. A few weeks of this can often settle everything down to normal....Up to you. Good luck.

Danish and Swedish passengers stranded in Bangkok
Pdavies99 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Hardly, its not an EU based flight? -
Yes, the best!

No, they have usually road going dtylecmountwin bike tyres, a sort of common hybrid. If you want to torture yourself, try one of those bikes with monster tyres, hard work and horrible. I'm sure some though may disagree,

I can honestly remember over at least 10 year this same problem. . In the past they blocked up where it was coming until it forced its way through, then aboutv 5 years ago they bulldozed sand over this area, trying to hide it and that it would magically not reappear. Unfortunately, this is Thailand, and they not a clue how to effect long term repairs on anything!

Really was just looking for places to eat etc at a reasonable price, rather than Hotel style prices, anyone please?
