There is a large hardware shop on the corner of third road and Soi Chayapoon. Or close to that location anyway.
Seemed to have tons of different stuff, very packed shop. I'd give that a go.
Tried there, no luck!

Looking to buy a metal hand file, 6" or larger...I have looked in Home pro and Home Mart and basement of Tuk Com, no luck so far.
Any ideas please.

The clear answer is that you are fed a line, no guest-houses in Jomtien or Pattaya area have in particular put up there prices at all.
-
You can do it at BigC South Pattaya (Sukhumvit).
Every saturday morning until afternoon (?)
First floor, near the information desk.
Desk at BIG C cannot do it if it has gone beyond expiry date. Sorry!

Most of the bigger New bike shops will do this for a fee of about 200 Baht, it takes them about two weeks, Log book required etc.
-
I used "SMILE" dentist on 3rd road...you get a good service and the prices etc are virtually the same all over Pattaya (obviously set up so), I think its about 600 - 800 baht
see : http://www.dentalsmilepattaya.com/
If you are looking at prices then you need to get well out of Pattaya.

Open front store behind Big C 2nd road, sell large non slip rubber type door mats.

your observations & comments may be correct but have you never noticed that tides change and so does the associated garbage - both in and out?
Why then is it that I dont see tons of garbage at other beach shores along the Coast? ie Lam Chabang, Sattahip, Bang Phra, Sean Suk.
Pattaya is just where the garbage is thrown overboard from barges from the Islands etc and barges paid to dump out in Deep sea!
-
Easy to resolve...go to water company and get water put into yours or a thai name and not a company name,,,300 baht finished (I did this a few years ago)
-
Thanks for info...any more please?
-
I want to go sea fishing...I know about the Expat fishing trips, but I believe there is a bar down town somewhere that offer overnight trips etc, does anyone know where this bar is please?
-
No, they did not require this.
Thank-you so much for your advice. Did you send a letter of consent, allowing that person to act on your behalf?
-
Yes you can get a 3rd party to get a residency certificate (I did that when I was sick) ...as to driving licence you must go in person as your image (photo) is scanned by their computer at time of application.
Good luck

Bank Gold will not accept them, they have a sign up saying so, sorry.
I had a few and eventually found the exchange at the front of Viila Supermarket would take them.
OP, if you already have reservations regarding exchanging the pre-2011 50 pound notes in Pattaya, why don't you just tell your friend to exchange them for the newer version before leaving for LOS? Or why hasn't he thought of that? Rather curious......
Assuming the notes are genuine, I don't see a problem exchanging them at Bank Gold, Soi Rungland, just off Pattaya Tai and just east of 3rd Rd. They also tend to give a slightly better exchange rate than the more, "tourist" exchange booths towards the beach / central Pattaya.
-
Older currency versions will not be generally accepted.
The Houblon £50 note is valid In Uk, but most currency exchangers do not have the validation checks for old notes and the fact that they can and will eventually be withdrawn with only 3 months notice by Bank of England.

Well personally I have to inject this every month into the top of the thigh, which I easily do myself, you can purchase syringes anywhere...however any Clinic will do this for you, very simple.

Realy???
I just took my new passport into Pattaya Immigration and they put some stamps in the new passport, no charge and finished?
Just to cheer you all up when you recieve a new passport you have to go to BKK in person to recieve your free 'please transfer any visa ' etc letter for immigration.
You can of course get a new passport from HK with just sending a photocopy of your passport.
Amazing.

I checked last week, one calendar month.
Just to save me a trip to Immigration to check, does anyone know how long in advance you can apply for an Extension of Stay (Retirement) at Immigration, and how long the Proof of Pension letter from the Consulate is valid for?
The last time I renewed my passport at the Bangkok Embassy they sent me back my old passport and someone else's new passport, so I'd prefer not to send them anything less important such as bank statements, etc, that I might need and they may take less care with.

Any other recommendations please (near Big C Pattaya Klang)

Anyone know of an office near Big C extra that offers this service please? (and how much?)

Hardware shop about 3 doors down from SS Sausage Shop at Naklua, I bought some last month.

Afaik: For a 'Farang alone' normal 'Bankcard to use at ATM' account: There is nothing over 1% available.
Better look for a bank with lots of branches and ATMs!
For better interest, you would need to 'share' with a Thai, anyway!
Or did I miss any news about this interest on Farang owned bank accounts?
Well sorry but that's wrong, even Krung Thai offer 2.75% P.a.

I need to open the 800K baht account for visa purposes.
Does anyone know which bank offers the best interest rate for such an account and any withdrawal penalties please?
