  1. you guys are crazy to think you will get imported anything for a cheap price. Lets take McDonalds which has a food cost% of 33%. So the markup is 3x the cost on anything you buy there and its not imported. So, if you expect to get a sandwich with imported ingredients for 50 baht it inst going to happen.

Imported Steak is around 500-600baht a kilo depending on cut, so a 200g portion costs the restaurant 120B before it hits the plate. If you're expecting to eat this even at a crap restaurant in a crap location with no staff you'd have to pay at least 300B for it.

  2. 2 villas have some nice small estate from around 7 houses up, and some have 24 hours security, but then again, i lived in one of them in Nai Harn and 2 of my neighbour had break in a 10 house estate with 24 hours security, i was lucky not break ins.

    but very nice houses.

I think I know where you're talking about, The niche? I use to live there, security was a joke, nearly always sleeping and they'd let everyone in. I was told recently someone had their house emptied there, doors removed to steal the big stuff.

My burger shop was burgled and luckily they only got small change, under 100 baht, and didn't even make a sandwichlaugh.gif. I hope they try again as I cemented broken glass on the area they climbed over.

Same with a bar I know, thieves didn't touch the alcohol, only looking for money.

  3. post proof

    Post proof ??

Lost of my mates are riding the proof around..

I myself have been offered the finance.. What do you need, me to go buy a bike to prove it to you ??

    Just being annoying, sorryjap.gif

  4. Ducati Triumph Kawasaki will...

Yammie, I know someone with an FZ6 and I thought he financed that. I mean at 6xx,xxx I dont think he paid cash.

ok sure, choose the 3 I didnt mention lol. "I thought he financed that" "I dont think he paid cash" well you dont know do you?

  5. Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda all said they will not finance to foreigners, unless under company name, just read the article and this thread isn't about cars.

  6. add black peppercorns, dried whole chillies, you will not be far away

Black pepper corn is going in. :)

    also coriander seeds?

needs to ferment for at least a week, and then consumed after 1 month :)

I make dill pickles for my restaurant and I do agree they get better with age, but they are consumable immediately.

  7. Ive seen foreigners get badly beaten here by thais and every single time it was the foreigner running his mouth or physical assaulting someone first, and to the point where if they didn't get a beat down id be surprised, in any country.

One time, drunk guy pushed the lady owner of the bar and she cut her head open on a table. Guy was beaten unconscious by thais, left in the road. Police came, had a laugh, took some pictures while waiting for the ambulance which came about 45 minutes later. Never saw that guy again.

Another time, foreigner harassing thai girl right in front of thai girls thai boyfriend. Thai Boyfriend repeatedly and calmly asked the guy to relax and leave them alone. He didn't. Beer bottle over the head, blood everywhere. Guy unconscious, dragged and dumped outside. Never saw that guy again either.

  8. Only 15% Profit Margin??

That would assume that even if they didn't pay their staff, premises, electric, water and rent etc... that they could only ever expect a return of less than 15% before taxes, then there is spoilage and theft. What would be the point?

15% is the higher end for supermarkets in the states, most is less than 5% net margin. Im sure you've noticed that people need to eat and they load theyre baskets with several items. Its called volume.

  9. Disputing the price of a sandwich with the ownerwhistling.gif you get a check list which clearly lists the prices as so no confusion on what you'll pay. including the extra charge for cheese, you sit down, they bring you the sandwich.

I eat there sometimes nearly everyday, and I often see customers neglect the checklist when ordering thus maybe confusing the staff. Check list is there for everyones benefit, makes things f$^k up proof.
