  1. I was told there is a guy selling pizza on a motorbike with a pizza oven attached in Rawai. Well, I saw the guy last night and had a pizza, it was pretty good and it really was a motorbike, with a giant pizza oven on itlaugh.gif Was 190 baht for a pizza, I think you can choose the toppings.

  2. post in the classifieds, ive found good help this way, usually via referrals. I would also suggest paying a job rate, not a day rate and of course buying all the supplies yourself. This way you know what it will cost and not a baht more. I had built a 3meter by 3meter concrete building and with everything it cost under 50,000. I just asked the builder how long and how much he wanted for the job, and bought all materials myself (hiding in my truck while to builder negotiated)

  3. Hi,

Which Thai credit card has online banking where you can see in real time recent transactions and descriptions. Also, one where when you transfer a payment it actually will show up without having to call the bank.

I have an aeon card and it is the worst. You can only see your balance online and if you make a payment early as I do because I reach my credit limit, they won't send you the monthly paper statement so it is a great mystery to what is actually charged on the card.

  4. If its not more than a few 1000s USD it is very EASY. I can do it online from Bank of Ayudha. You just select USD the conversion is done for you and yes it asks what its for but you just type that in. Don't believe the hype you read on this board.

I also just sent $2500usd, and I did it at the bank. Just needed my passport and I didnt have to say where the money came from, just what it was for, and I could of just made that up.

  5. the weather forecast, no matter time a year is always forecast for at least scattered rain in Thailand. It has been raining everyday, mainly at night, and only for a few hours here and there. I would not worrysmile.gif

  6. its not like you just cant go look at the thai banks websites to get informationwhistling.gif

  7. the russians, in general, are great customers. They are usually with their families and they do not complain about price.

There are still very few places in the world where you can rent a 3 bedroom pool villa in peak season for $70/day or $25/day per person. If this is too expensive then maybe you should shorten your stay to fit within your budget.

  8. Traveler tip:

Wear some shorts with a elastic band and briefs, not boxers and a loose fitting shirt. You should be able to fit about 4 beers in your waistband. Go into whatever club and order the same type of beer you have safely hidden away. When you finish that overly expensive rip-off beer, excuse yourself to the toilet. Open one of the beers you smuggled in in one of the stalls while making a coughing sound, being sure to discard the bottle top so that there's no evidence.

Exit the toilet and loiter at the bar a few minutes with the free beer, this is to make your waitress assume you bought a beer at the bar. Return to your table and repeat this process.

    Happy Holidays

  9. the beach itself isn't private, but they do have an area near the hotel which I believe is for guests only, but I have sat there many times when I wasn't a guest. You do not need a license for fishing that I am aware of, but I understand it is very hard to catch anything near the hotel. You will see thais fishing off the rocks near the hotel.

  10. I have a large group (30+) people here now using my Gym that are on a organized health and fitness getaway. There are 100's of people here training Muay Thai. There are thousands of families visiting each year. hundreds of thousands who come just to see Bangla and all its excitement and never partake in its extra offerings. The yachting community, eco and medical tourism, golf. etc. etc. etc.

So its very narrow minded to think that people are only coming here for sex.

  11. you should not have any problem so long as what your gf is selling is as described and she ships using a shipping method that provides proof of delivery and she only ship to a paypal verified address. That being said, and as kuffki pointed out, paypal has been known to freeze accounts for little no reason and their customer service is terrible. So once your obligation is met to the buyer, withdrawl the funds. There is no charge for withdrawls in thailand over 5000B and only 50 baht under. It takes 5-7 days to withdrawl funds, so make sue your gf has a float to cover shipping costs.

I think the main reason paypal is not very common in Thailand is you need a credit card to load funds (or someone send you a paypal) and the ease of which you can transfer funds via ATM or online to accounts in Thailand. Plus, thais would never accept the fees, same as they do even at big merchants with credit cards, charge you the interest, which I think is against paypals policies and visa MC INTL but they get away with it.

There is a sellers guide within paypal in regards to disputes https://cms.paypal.c...blem_resolution

  12. My next question is, If I get hit with an import duty is there any negotiating this? I think I will get carded and told to go to the local post office in Phuket to retrieve the package, I will send a thai person named as the receiver. Can he haggle this price or not?

I ordered 40 small bags of a special type of Granola Cereal. The package was sent as a gift.
