  1. Someone needs a respray does anyone have experience from anywhere the quality of whose work sticks out.

Better go to reputable dealer (Red Baron springs to mind) and ask them to do it for you. At least I did that way. They won't be doing respray themselves though but they sure know who is good.

Example: I did it through Teera, they actually shipped my bike from Phuket to BKK and back. Price = 12,000 baht, included transport fees etc. I am not recommending Teera even though I was very happy with final result. Take a look at the pics of my BMW before and after the paint job.

Thanks a lot, just what i have been looking for, and then for free even better, already using it.

You're welcome! I'm surprised it still works after being stashed in the corner for 3 years.

  6. Hope this helps, courtesy Asia Bikes:

First of all you will need a non-B or a non-O visa in your passport. Then you will need to go to your embassy and get a letter of proof of where you live, Embassy's will vary in price from about 1,500BHT to 2,000BHT a letter. If you have a work permit you may not need a letter from your embassy. If you are on the move a lot then you may want to put the address of your company on to your green book.Fees for changing your name to a book is 350BHT, the transfer fee is 100BHT, and then there is an extra fee of 5BHT that in total comes to 455BHT.Changing your number plate will cost you 100BHT.If you have a motorcycle and you want to change the color of it or it has been changed but not yet in the green book then that is an extra charge of 15BHT.

To tax and insure your motorcycle you will need the green book in your name, or your Thai wife's or Thai partners name,or a person that is Thai. Tax is 100BHT for one year for all motorcycles. Motorcycle insurance depending on the size (cc) starts at about 350BHT for a small bike and up to 1000BHT for a big bike, this is only at a transport department's office, this is a government insurance policy not a private policy, private policy's will probably charge you more for the same thing. Insurance in Thailand will not be the same as in your home country. Make sure you get the full details of a policy before paying for one,you may not be covered for everything you want.

  7. Red Baron might be willing to import one for you.

Of course you would be looking at a huge deposit & no telling how long wait time. But it would be brand new.

G , I have a 2008 GTR 1400 for sale in Bkk - LEGALLY imported and 'regged' - check the hotmail I sent you.

    Hey F,

replied already before seeing this post. Let me know bud!

  8. Hmm...That doesn't seem to reflect the reality on the ground here in Phuket though. For example, I'm pretty sure Caltex in Kathu isn't selling 95 non-gasahol. I'll have to check at Lemon Green, but I didn't think they were selling 91 non-gasohol either.

Caltex Kathu doesn't sell any 95, I checked. Same goes for Susco on the island, not sure what's the deal with them in other provinces.

  9. No, I am keeping ZX Scuba.

Yes, thought of Red Baron too, will check with them.

Very nice Goran ....... have a ride of the beast at Samui before you decide or have you already mate ????

    Cheers CdM

    Hey bud,

Samui plans are unchanged, going with Ninja. As far as GTR is concerned, both me and our friend Chee are interested in buying. Actually he is so nuts about this bike he wants it even without any papers but I am advising him against it. We found someone in Phuket who can get green book but price is 100k!!!

Excellent really looking forward to it ...... have you both ridden the GTR ??? i agree please talk him out of that, he may love it now but when he goes to sell will be the killer ........ nice bike ,very nice ... what is the major diff in engines between the GTR and Ninja ???

    cheers

    Chris,

you can compare specs of both models here:

    GTR 1400 and ZX-14

Anyway, me and Chee spoke to guy from Red Baron today - 780,000 baht for a brand new 2010 model with book. That's a good deal IMO.

  10. Ghost Riders has a gas station owner in it's membership..so maybe we can get this sorted?

He owns Shell at Thepkasattri Rd. His or any other gas station owner's word to Shell means nothing really, higher powers decide....

91 Benzene is available on all gas stations in Phuket. 91 gasohol I havent seen yet, neither 91 or 95 E20 or E85. Only gasohol in Phuket seems to be 95 E10.

Unfortunately the Anuphas owned Shell stations in Phuket have stopped selling 95 benzene V-Power.

Without 91 benzene most motorbikes older than 6 years would stop this year

Shell sells gasohol 91, not benzene 91. Next time you go there look closely at labels, small print says 91 gasohol.

  11. No, I am keeping ZX Scuba.

Yes, thought of Red Baron too, will check with them.

  15. Lets hope the Germans play a fairer game than the Italians did in the semi final in the last world cup. We was robbed mate.

That was round of 16, not semis. Australia never went that far in World Cup.....

Anyway, remember that game clearly, Aussies were threated harsh by ref, Italians used all dirty tricks to win by narrowest of margins - from penalty spot kick that never existed at first place.
