1. You should be aware that if your numbers have not been registered on a car for three years your ownership is automatically cancelled - the DLT often forget to warn buyers of this. Presumably your numbers are not on your car, Snowflake, if your avatar is yours, as they can only be registered to 4 door pick-ups?

Good piece of info, wasn't aware of that.Thanks.

  2. There's quite a few websites selling sought after license plates:

    http://www.lovetabien.com/

    http://ams.unseencar.com/plate/

    http://www.tabienrod...n_detail/id/181

    Cool, thanks.

Sure there are plenty of those web sites... One is called "Tabiendee"...

They do buy and sell plates of nice colours...

Ps, what number do you want? I am considering to sell my 666 (first auction)

The nice thing about these numbers are that you can keep the plate and move it to your next car all the time. Sometimes they even increase in price...

I am not buying, have 2 sets right now. Want to sell one set, it just collects dust in storage room.

  3. My Thai niece called me few hours ago....she had a dinner with boyfriend at one of those open food stall places at Koh Sirey. I don't know what a hell she was doing there at first place, this area is notorious. Bunch of Burmese got involved in vicious argument and one of them sliced another with parang (machete) into pieces before dozens of witnesses. Of course, killer fled away and police arrived shortly. According to her, police officers were picking up the body parts and placing them in plastic bags.....she (niece) is here now and in state of shock. For 18 year old to witness such a crime must be awful experience to say the least. Locals refer to Koh Sirey as AIDS colony and home of some worst crimes island has seen.

Anyway, this is true as it comes. I am curious if local media going to report this incident.

  4. As said the beach is public. I have been there several times. I just dress nicely and bring a towel etc. in a small backpack and walk right through the resort.

Same here, I even drive my car thru on the way to Jungle Resort and guards never make issue out of it.

  5. Spoke to few more ride groups and MC's today, they all going. Looks this event is gonna be bigger than what we originally thought.

Nice event, more to it than just a bike ride even though about 100 riders showed up by saturday evening. Check out the video.

  6. Im sorry if this is a dumb question..but this is where riders meet up and do a trip together, right? Just for big bikes?

Not sure if this question is addressed to me but I'll answer it anyway:

the link you see contains general info on all upcoming biker events in Thailand.

If you wish to initiate ride with fellow bikers, start the topic in ORGANIZED RIDES section. There is no set rule on size of the bikes.

On another note, I would strongly suggest MEET UP DOT COM , great site to plan the rides.

  7. Have some friends from Russia, couple with 14 year old daughter. They need 2 bedroom fully furnished condo for rent between December 18th 2010 and January 20th 2011 (33 days).

Requirements: fully furnished place not far from the beach, air-conditioned of course, swimming pool, cable or true tv installed.

Budget - 40,000 to 50,000 baht - with all utility bils included. (water, electricity, cable).

Please let me know if you can help. I will pay 10k booking fee on their behalf, rest of the payment upon guest arrival.

    Thanks

  8. I want to sign up for KPP cable. Anyone knows where is their office?

On the same side as Royal Phuket City Hotel but a couple of hundred yards further on. I reckon their programming is better than Phuket Cable. You can get it in more than one room, an extra fee for installment but monthly fee the same as a single connection.

Thanks. I guess that is the same road as True TV office.

  9. Just found out about this place, anyone been there before? Looks like hel_l Angels hangout even though they don't have chapter in Thailand.

"The Other Place", this name and concept isn't new in other regions of the world, but it is new to Asia, with the first one being in downtown Patong Beach.

Situated in JJ Plaza, Phungmuang Sai Kor Rd Phuket 83150 Thailand [or Bourbon St as its known to locals]. This brand new spacious and luxurious biker bar stands out among its neighbours.

The idea of another place or "The Other Place" came about quite a few years ago firstly in Holland, when a member of the club decided to open a bar similar to a clubhouse. Where members of the public and tourists could visit and get the feel of what a clubhouse might be like.

The member when asked by other club members what he was talking about, referred to it as "the other place", this catchy phrase caught on and the concept also.

Soon there would be more than one, and since then this brand has become recognized worldwide as associated with the HELLS ANGELS MOTORCYCLE CLUB.

The majority of these bars following a similar look and feel, but each having there own unique or individual designs. The distinguishing "Red and White" themes being common place for those who recognize the club colours. Paraphernalia from biker and Hells Angels history usually adorning and decorating the walls.

So it wasn't a big deal when some Aussie brothers from Brisbane - Australia, who were spending a fair bit of time in Asia and in particular Thailand, came up with the idea of having thier own bar there. With a lot of interest from locals and tourists, in late 2009 a plan was hatched. Patong was chosen as the place, what with the famous Phuket bike week being run there for over 10 years and putting it on the map as a biker destination and there also only being one other biker type bar in Patong, things soon got underway.

Many locals and tourists a like have spent a late evening there since its unofficial opening in may 2010, sharing many a biker story, comparing adventures, racing achievements and feats of bravado, traditionally discussed by folks who share a common love of motorcycling and partying.

The bar covers 180m2s is open on 3 sides, is walking distance to Patongs number one shopping centre, kickboxing arena and markets.

Many differing beers, spirits, food as well as merchandise can be purchased in the bar.

The bar is open 7 days a week, from early aftenoon, till late.

The official opening will be on the 4th December 2010, and as it has been promoted worldwide, there is going to be members from chapters all around the world coming to share in the revelry.

This bar and all it's partys are not to be missed whilst visiting around this part of the world.
