  1. Sorry insufficient information provided to advise specifically.

In a normal situation the Shareholder needs to be removed from the Board by majority vote. Your friend plus one Thai who holds at least 2%.

  2. I understood the Baht 400,000 or more rule was that the money was to be held at one Bank, NOT in one account for the required period of two or three months.

In my case this allows me to hold most of the money in a term account with better interest and the remainder in a Savings Account totaling together well in excess of the required amount. This allows flexibility for the monthly spends.

Has anybody here ever had the Bangkok Immigration's acceptance to this approach?

  3. Just to confuse the issue, my Customer's husband has lived here for many years. He is Canadian and has a Retirement Visa these days. He has never ever had a Thai Bank Account but has more than sufficient funds in his Canadian Bank Account plus of course his pension. Each year his Bank confirms that his account holds more than sufficient cash for his Retirement Visa application.

One thing that amazed me was that he was still using the Bank's ATM for his monthly spends incurring a pretty high withdrawal charge every time.

I have never had the opportunity to talk to the person directly but his wife assures me that they have never had any problems with his Visa.

  4. Interestingly, I have never been too impressed with Duang Dee and also cannot replicate the Dao Coffee I bought at the Exhibition. This may of course be down to my poor brewing methods and the fact that I didn't grind any beans so far.

Up to now for Thai Coffee I have a preference for Lanna Coffee which is more to my taste.

However, I will try again once I have located a bean supplier for the Coffees recommended in this Thread.

I also plan to try Ethiopian and Brazil beans when I get the chance to visit Peaberry's.

So keep your suggestions coming as I'm learning fast. :D

  5. Take the train from and to the New Airport (to KL Central). Very comfortable, quicker and half the price of a taxi.

Take the monorail in the direction of the Consulate (map needed) and find a Hotel, There are many reasonably cheap ones

Ask your wife to write a very short letter requesting that they issue a Visa for you. They like that!

When I went Thai Airways had the best deal surprisingly.

  6. Sounds like I just got to hope the Immigration guy doesn't remember the wifes phone call and ask for an official translation, and if he does convince him it's not a requirement - wish me luck on that

On a point mentioned, I doubt the British Embassy would issue a document in Thai even if asked and even if they did I doubt it would be accepted as not being an Thai translation by a Thai.

    Thanks y'all for your comments.

    :)

It wouldn't be a translation. It would a letter in Thai typed by a British Embassy Thai Staff Member.
