So who pays for the facility that means you don’t have to wade through airports carrying sackfuls of money ? Billions of pounds of infrastructure required to make that and other transactions happen ?
It’s amazing the amount of people who believe banks should be at your beck and call for free.
No one forces you to use them - send it over in an envelope for much less.
Really ? you are so ill-informed it is shocking
and we are forced to use banks since your work pay can no longer be paid in cash
I remember a time when banks were begging for you to open an account and offering services to entice you - they no longer need to do that because "YOU HAVE NO CHOICE" and just wait until the next big move comes - CASHLESS, then they will really have you by the balls

What infuriates me is I qualify for a legal Visa, am a good expat, cause no trouble, break no laws, and pump 1.4 million into the economy every year. This is my 11th renewal and there is no reason for this nonsense.
Anybody that thinks they actually move 800,000 into your account is naive. It is a total scam and the immigration officials are in on it. My summation is they are charging foreigners Bt 35,000 for actually is about an hours work. I realize they have to split this fee with a lot of scam artist, but it is still an unreasonable amount

your case doesn't make sense, you say you spend 1.4 million a year but are having trouble with the 800k or income method
Like me he may be transferring the money but not at equal monthly intervals in order to reduce fees - I hate giving banks money in fees especially since they are giving me very little in return for my large balance

My IO categorically state the seasoning periods will be checked at your next application.
They will check the previous 12 months accounts to qualify for the next extension.
ha ha and if you don't qualify there will be an agent waiting outside to sort it for 100k baht lol

My credit union in the states uses swift transfer for at least 8 years, it is actually transfered thru western union from credit union to BKK FTT
they may tell you that but they actually use an intermediary bank such as HSBC who provide them with the service transparent to you

The concept of keeping the 800/400/800 and having it verified when applying for an extension renewal makes me think the idea of deliberately allowing the extension to expire would make some financial sense. Simply obtaining a visa waiver entry, and do the entry to non-O conversion, and then make a new extension surely would just require showing a few 65,000 baht transfers? (Or the 800k from overseas and then season for the 2 months required.... then free to spend it)
you are all wasting your time trying to make any sense or reason of these new rules or how they will be enforced
There is zero logic to any of it
If they wanted to wipe out agents paying a bribe to ignore seasoning then a simple bank balance check at any time post extension renewal would have clearly shown this

the only goal scored was denied by about 4" offside or a run that started 0.5sec early, smalling was offside but only by a whisker
Good result regardless

Would next years agent supported extension receive extra scrutiny when still using waived seasoning and senior officer tea money,I can’t see it?
who knows but the point I am making is that it is not this years extension that is the problem - it is the following year when the new rules are fully in play, it will be too late then when you cannot show 800k balance for 3 months after your last extension and a minimum balance of 400k for the previous 12 months - what then
Like I said an agent will gladly take your money now - why not, no risk to them

I am sure that any agent you use this year will be able to operate as normal and bribe an IO to ignore the seasoning rules - why not, it is money in their pocket.
"But" you need to be very sure that when you try to renew your extension next year that the agent will still be able to bribe an IO to ignore the fact that "not only" did you not comply with the rules previously but failed to comply with the new rules this 12 months (this year) because it will be too late then to do anything about it, it is not clear yet what action they will take but I suspect a ban from obtaining extensions would seem logical, 1-5 years is possible.
People that currently use agents need to think very carefully about the implications next year when they check for compliance to the new rules

The Bangkok Bank online banking (Bualuang iBanking) is pretty good and I am sure it will do what you need. Although having a phone tied to the account is part of the security verification.
ok thx for the info and taking the time to answer my questions

You sign up with them and when you get all sorted you follow the instructions on a youtube video they give you to connect your Bangkok Bank account to your Dee Money account. You can do this from a Bangkok Bank ATM machine. Then on your phone you can just put in your details and it takes the money from your BB account and sends it to where you say. There are also a couple other methods they list as well. Topic is covered more in depth in a few other posts. But this should answer your question.
so could I also do this online without the phone app ? I do not have an ATM card (by choice)

What if every extension is treated as a new extension? Go out come back with a TV and apply fresh. Not breaking any laws. Perfectly legal.

if you think that is going to work then go for it, I rather suspect they will impose a time limit on when you can re-apply, maybe 6-12 months

can someone explain how the Deemoney transfer works, I have a Bangkok Bank account here in Thailand - how do you transfer the money to Deemoney to facilitate the transfer out of the country

Agents only do 800k bank method. You can bring million dollars a month or 30k/ month, agents dont care. They put 800k and buy the previlege for waiving of seasoning from IOs. At least that's s how it used to work. Don't know how it would work now
Sent from my JKM-LX2 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
it might work for your next extension application and they will take your money to facilitate - but come the next renewal the following year when they check your bank to see if you complied with the rules the previous 12 months (and you obviously didn't) - what then ?, if your agent cannot bribe your next extension then you are shafted.

If you destroy any record of that account and only have a record for the new account for a few months, you'd be unable to provide the evidence they require for the renewal.
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how the plan you put forward could meet the requirements for your next renewal.
correct, and highlights the stupidity of this thread

The bank statement need to be made in Bangkok as this is the only UOB branch to provide FCD accounts and I live in N. Ratchasima.
All contact with the bank regarding the FCD account need to be made at the issuing bank and can not be done trough another UOB bank.you need a letter from the bank and your passbook
Oh I see your bank don't have passbook for FCD - mine does

Are you referring to extensions before or after March1
I talking about renewal in 12 months when the proposed checks will be carried out - an agent might take your money get you an extension now but come renewal - if you have broken the rules - what then ? will the agent sort it out for you ?

There may very well be plenty of 800,000 guys that use agents to do the paper work for them....But they are also paying 4-6 thousand baht MAX sense there is no money lending involved...
correct
also, 90% of the people I know (there are many) that use an agent could not meet the requirements

But what's the point of paying 25,000 / 50,000Baht 'fees' when it's going to come around again within 12 months and very possibly the 'fee' route not possible?
actually as I have already told a few people in discussions about this - they said they checked with their agent and all is fine for their next extension, the problem is when they go to renew that one in 12 months and it becomes clear that they didn't meet the specified requirements since then i.e. 800k balance 3 months after and maintain a 400k balance throughout the year - what then ?, they can't go back to the agent that took their money and complain when they are forced to leave the country because they broke the rules.
Yes the agent took their money and got them an extension why would they not, but are they guaranteeing they will not be caught when they renew the following year - No they are not !!!!!!

The point is that the THAI banks have your dosh for an additional 3 months to make THEM some more interest!!!

You need to check with Ubonjoe. Last he published said 2 before and 3 after for renewals. Not 3 before.
I asked this question many times and there was clarification from an IO (I think Jomtien) that for renewals it would be 3+3 = 6 months
I know the order reads 2 months before - I get that, but it seems some IO's don't
I have asked if the new orders still include the renewal part of the order at 3 months
It is not surprising that this again has created confusion because the IO's around various cities can't seem to agree on what is written in the order even though it is in plain sight

Technically nothing has changed for you. As long as you have 800k in the bank all year then there is no problem with worrying about dropping below the 400k mark. Life carries on.
wrong, I generally top up once a year from the UK 3 months before my extension renewal, now I will need an extra 3 months - about 4k sterling,

why did you expect that to change ?
