Baht is best performer globally against dollar over five years

why do they keep saying this, it's like saying I outperformed everyone by jumping without a parachute - yes I will hit the ground first suckers

"best performing" is when the currency is supporting the economy, right now it is being heavily manipulated because Thailand is allowing that to happen, just wait until they have to do something drastic to stop it - mass exit

A privy councilor has told a seminar, on the occasion of Anti-Corruption Day on Friday, that he is sick of the seemingly endless talking about the scourge of corruption, stressing that it was high time for action, not just words.

start with Immigration and also sort out the rules so it isn't so easy

Many expats are now either leaving or resorting to bribes through agents to get stuff approved mostly because of the new rules introduced earlier this year

If you have reactive loads, motors and transformers, then PF correction can save you money. However the correction has to be immediate to the device, not a some remote location.

if you limit the efficiency of something that uses electricity then this could very easily have the opposite effect, this comes down to how good a design the appliance has in the first place

Everything you do with electricity uses energy - how efficient that energy is used depends on a lot of factors, domestic appliances are tested under a controlled environment - where you place your fridge in your house may not be the most efficient use of that device but that has nothing to do with the actual electricity usage the appliance uses when active

These small LEDs use less than 0.02W so even if you had 20 on all month it would cost less than 2 baht.  That is the beauty of LED lighting, it is almost free, a typical 5W LED on 12 hours a day will only cost 9 baht a month compared to a 50W halogen that will cost 90 baht a month and heat the room, not a good thing here.  However, all the devices with the red stand-by LEDs will have a transformer running so the cost will actually be more but it is still insignificant.

correct, so the original comment I call rubbish was in fact just that - total rubbish

It's not rubbish, do you think that they do not use any electricity?  He did say "If you have enough of them..."

    enough of them ?

5 room house with 5 modern Tv's and say 4 other various appliances for an average house all on standby for 50% of 30 days

how must electric did they use and cost in baht at government rate on standby

and for myself I have 2x large tv's and a couple of other items that go on standby, not even worth considering their usage it is so small

When my wife gets home i will have to get her to read the above.

Silly <deleted> paid 1200 baht for 1 of these damn things, as much as i tried to tell her waste of money, wont work, all i got was Thai man say i save more 25% on electric bills.

yes it's absolute nonsense, in fact your bill will go up because the device itself uses electricity lol - electric is produced and used,  it is not something you can use less of unless you generate it yourself, this device is a scam of the highest order, if something uses 1kwh - that is what it uses, if you want to use less electric in a bulb the brightness will go down - simple as that

I have a device that measures and logs my usage - real time - daily - weekly - monthly that is entirely different and useful just to verify what items are actually using and also good if I leave something on that I should have turned off, like an aircon unit in another room that I have left (who hasn't done that lol)

Their stand is that you are still responsible for the person you loaned it to as it is in many countries.  Also, just like you, the driver, is responsible for seat-belts to be on all persons in your car.

completely different, the driver is in control of the vehicle and those in it

It's similar in the UK regarding speeding tickets - if the evidence is unclear who was driving (photo evidence) and the owner of the vehicle says he was not driving and can prove it - in law he cannot be fined - it is the driver of the vehicle that is responsible for the offence not the vehicle.
