G'day Oz my names jay and i live in Phuket, Rawai, vice pres of the Rawai Beach Fishing Club and owner of the club house (AJ's Bar & Bistro), (mods: not trying to promote my place just sharing who i am), anytime your in Phuket drop by, we salt water fish mostly but fishing has gone down the drain due to no commercial fishing regulations.

an effective way is to take a small 4" yakka, sardine, etc attached with 5/0 circle or octopus hook; 2 meters 60 - 100lb steel leader or 100lb leader line, i use flurocarbon as it is more resitant to bite offs and less visable, above the leader attached between two barrel swivels attached with elastic band or tied directly to the line a large balloon, if running more than one balloon use different colours to keep track of who's who's, depending on how much wind there is sets the size you blow up the balloon, drift this around any structure, barracuda, longtoms etc, go balistic on hookup, large longtoms are more fun to catch as they put on surface shows, barracudas strike and go limp.....

There have been many falang longtailboat owners, in rawai there are a couple I know of, show respect ask before putting in your mooring and you will be fine, just don't take away their business.

run a new advert in TV and let us know here that you done it, then maybe you will get better response. Second hand furniture etc sells quick for second hand prices, as as new does not warrent as new prices...... from personal experience priced right items listed online with the PG sell in the first few hours after listing.

not the best i've found but a nice find nontheless. walking with my dog an Akita, she pulled hard on the lead and I pulled back being a large dog she pulled harder, ok I looked to see what caught her interest; a roll of cash bit short of $600us, we were in Mesa Arizona, on a road trip from western Canada. Pleasant find after that I payed a lot more attention to where her nose was pointing when she pulled on her lead.

The Akita is a bear dog which she certainly was but cash works for me also.

I am told in BKK its 400B for a restaurant?

maybe it's time to get the staff take it round the corner and dump it in the OrBorTors bin only 50 meters away as my place produces one 30ltr bin a day.

One of the reasons I'm here is because, in Britain, I had to pay around £600 (30,000 baht) a year to get my household bins emptied once every 2 weeks!

Think around £45 for a restaurant / bar is a pretty good deal, to be honest!

Suggest you just get on with it. No sympathy from me.

Another option is she hires you as manager of her restaurant, you get her to do the paperwork to get the Work Permit, it is not difficult to do few visits to the Employment/Work Permit Office, you have to have a Non O visa stamp in your passport, if you don't then you will have to go get one, it does not have to be current, it takes about a week to get the WP and then a month for approval from immigration for the one year visa..

This will cost you about: 2000 baht a month in tax based on 40,000B month salary(required). You only need to show the tax paid each month not show bank recieving salary.. She will also have to get medicare for two Thai employees, the cost of this is minimal 5% of their salary.

The cost of work permit 3100B One year visa 1900B Total cost per year about 30,000B

No visa runs. You jsut have to sign in at immigration every 90 days.

Not bad way to go as you do not have to do visa runs and you are able to help her in operations of the business without a worry of breaking the law..

If its the Thai type ones they are only a couple of grand new ?? If its a special import then probably need to look to the company who make them.

My brother bought some huge monstrosity from SA thats insane, totally impractical and much more sensible to have bought the little Thai style ones.
