  1. I keep my money in 2 accounts, 1 which is attached me to my visa/debit account and the other with a much higher interest rate which I simply have to go online and transfer (that day if done early enough) into my my other account. That way my money which I am not using earns me more than the crappy interest rate the banks give you for an average saving account. They make money, with my ammount I make money just depends on how much you have in your account.

may i ask, what has this got to do with the topic"do you think 'm paying too much."

No I originally misquoted hence why it was out of context. My bad.

  2. Why would anybody keep a large amount of money in an account accessible by ATM?

1 out of 10. Try much harder.

Because I get paid In THB direct to bangkok bank which I have Visa card for and savings account........... where do you keep money.......... under your pillow :o

And as for paying for girls or paying them to be with you, that is kinda pathetic, but whatever to each his own. I pay for everything when I take my girlfriend out who is much much wealthier, why because its culturally what I am meant to do from both of our perspectives (she is not Thai)... I'd feel weird standing there letting her pay for something when I have the money, and historically/psychologically all relationships rely on the idea of masculinity and protection and its how attraction is created, not that I'm still at such a low stage of a relationship evolution I still like to pay.

  3. Was with a friend of mine he was holding a friends bag whilst standing next to the road, and a pair on motorbike flew by the guy on the bag attempted to grab the bag but ended up more with my friends arm pulling him across slightly, wish the guy had fallen off but they just sped away. Just went on with our day regularly after that, thought it was interesting though.

  4. I was wondering if anyone else had been contacted through this site claiming that your profile had been read and it appealed to them? I just received an email today from someone claiming that they read my profile and found it so interesting they had to get to know me. Sounds like a regular troll just fishing for something idk, anyone else had a similar experience?

I also think its funny I don't think I have put anything in my profile that might even be slightly appealing other than male living in bangkok :o

  5. I haven't seen houseboats here in Thailand, aside from the ones regular people are living on in the small dirty rivers in bangkok. But i'd be interested in knowing too if there are houseboats, preferably luxury ones you can rent in Thailand as that would be super chill...

I have seen boats with sleeping quarters on board for rent down in Pattaya if your interested in something like that...

  6. Investigators had concluded findings into the cause of the blaze but could not make it public for fear of the negative impact on the case.

    Great...

Is there a guide in bangkok similar to the Juice Magazine in KL?

  7. Aside from the family and friends of the victims it seems that the whole tragedy of zantika is already being forgotten...

I went to high school in Thailand and have recently returned hoping to work here but currently enjoying a vacation and I love Thailand. The last couple of years Zantika was the place to go for my friends and I on a Friday or Saturday night(yes at the time we were all underage), in fact we were going to go on new years as it was the last night but luckily decided to go with a larger group to Narz. After the fire I realized how much danger I was in each time I went there for fun, without even being slightly aware of it. Now I am going to places and only seeing the lack of safety (narcissist is deathtrap, that main dance floor; which i have seen with easily 200+ people on it, has a fence around it with a two narrow entrances both up several stairs....) After the fire I was hoping to see some changes that would restore my personal confidence in safety here for when I am out having fun but now it seems to be becoming an issue of the past already. I am concerned with the lack of follow ups or investigations into the current laws or maybe I am just poorly informed I am not sure, hence posting.

It is all well and good prosecuting those responsible for the tragedy but I would like to see more about safety laws and actually making businesses compliant.

Anyone able to alleviate my concerns? Or have an opinion on what they think will happen or not happen as a result of this tragedy?

I am surprised that it has taken so long (to be forgotten)

Things might (big might) improve in the short term but in the longer term it will go back to the same old, same old way that things get done (have always gotten done) here in Thailand.

Proprietors of places of entertainment, hotels, theatres, malls, etc., etc., are only motivated by one thing and one thing only, and that is money.

Thats why I am going to frequent bed more, reward owners doing the right thing. It could be a idea for someone to set up a service which promotes venues that meet these standards or some way of finding out which venues have put in these extra precautions and efforts.

  8. Lots of people run the reds... Especially at major intersections where they know they will be waiting for another 5+ minutes.... If the traffic stops for a brief second I see atleast 5 - 6 motorbikes try to gun it every day accross the asoke/sukhumvit intersection, its so dangerous, especially if a few differnt directions decide to do it at the same time :o

  9. well, in the BED topic in the Bangkok page, someone did mention that they were undertaking steps to ensure everything was up to standard. No doubt other well known establishments are following suit.

that was me, and the entire staff undergoing training with the fire department on sunday afternoon.

Thats good to know. As I said I will make sure I reward them with my money :o

  10. Greed, loopholes and cash will keep the owners and those responsible from being prosecuted...

Greed, loopholes and cash will allow others to continue to sacrifice safety in favor of a fast buck.

But times are changing, I was hoping perhaps that if anything this might act as a catalyst for the change necessary to see safer entertainment venues..

Glad to hear about Bed, hopefully other clubs will follow suit and I can tell you I will make sure to frequent them more as a result.

  12. My dad wants me to stay here in Thailand and work for him while the economic crisis is happening, however I don't have any university qualifications (I only university last year) and we were told that it wasn't possible for me to get a work permit. But surely family business's are a major part of a lot of Asian cultures. A family friend whose family works somehow in government (I'm not exactly sure) said he could organize it but wanted a huge price and I don't know how legit he is...

Anyway, does anyone know a way for me as a young person with very little qualifications other than IB diploma to get a work permit here?

  13. I arrived in Thailand with a visa on arrival in late November, then I got a tourist visa for 60 days in Malaysia, I have read somewhere that if I go get visas from consulates and don't do the boarder runs that the 90 days doesn't apply as long as you are going and getting the visa's.

Just wondering the laws and how long I should be planning to be allowed in Thailand for.

    Any helps appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Josh

  14. Hey guys, I lived in Bangkok about a year ago and I'm returning for about 3 months in November with a friend who has never been before and we were looking to rent a furnished apartment in Bangkok. Where would be the best place to look? I want to live in the early sukhumvit area preferably and don't want to pay more than 30,000 baht a month for a minimum 2 bedrooms. I have looked at a few websites like thaiapartment.com and whatever google brings me but so far its been pretty useless.

Any information you guys could provide, or if your looking to rent out an apartment with the requirements please post.
