Thai "on-the-runs" have enough illegal stash to enjoy world travel until their statute of limitations expires, then it's home again with throngs of followers meeting at the airport, including some high and mighty politicians.

Benigno Aquino didn't get the reception at the airport he would have wished for. One must temper the excitement of coming home against the ire of those one has wronged.

If they think the general Thai will give up their car for a multiple stop, multiple change train ride where they cannot honk their horn or express their ego they are in for a surprise.

I would guess that the majority of the passengers on the new trains used to take buses. Very few would be giving up their air-con vehicles to take a train.

  3. Actually, at work a local employee would have a Thai radio station running all day. I became very fed up with an annoying song that seemed to get excessively high rotation.

After a while, I realised it was played 5 minutes before the hour, every hour. When I complained to my co-workers, I was told it was Prayut's composition.

    Nuff said.

This happened again with his second tune as well.

    Godawful, syrupy <deleted>. Very annoying.

  4. Warren Buffett has Gillette as one of his key stocks. Monopolizing the market then charging whatever price they like.

I remember a colleague once was called to the airport to pick up a parcel and they confiscated his Gillette razor blades.

It's sad that necessities such as razor blades can be so exploitative.

Also agree with Barbasol. I get at least a year out of a can.
