It seems that every day now, some farang is found dead. Makes me wonder.
Yes, what is this thing called 'death'?
and why does it happen to so many people? especially the living ones!

as a earlier poster mentioned, can anyone shed any light on how they get the work permits?? it does also baffles me. the indians i mean.
Thailand has an Indian community that hold Thai citizenship. No work permit needed.
Or alternatively, the freshly arrived youngsters now dominating the Indra shopping centre, are sold fake IDs from Kanchanaburi.
Been going on for years.
I'd add on to the OP query, Indian restaurants as well. Far too many empty seats around Pratunam to be a viable business proposition, but they still open up
whenever there's an opportunity.

Shhh!
Don't let the secret out or it might be spoiled by the riff raff!
Too late, methinks. Costas is packing already.

Queensland is no paradise thats for sure way to many floods these days and maybe time to rethink the states future.
Without out a doubt, the stupidest post I've read in a very long time.
What would you have the authorities do? Evacuate everyone in the state and put up NO ENTRY signs?

Well she won't have an excuse for not attending court this time.
Maybe Chalerm can offer some advice. He has been very quite lately.
Deep in discussions with other parties, looking at options for him and family should he wish to jump ship.
No honor amongst thieves.

Can't go anywhere in public without being harassed and can't leave the country, so it's almost like house arrest. She already thinks of herself as the next ASSK ;-)
Now that's a horrible thought. The 2 women are poles apart as human beings.

we build a fire on the floor in the lounge room during the cold nights ...
Imagine, having a lounge room to light a fire!

This unelected military government sure has an unquenchable thirst for prosecuting every single Red Shirt they can get their hands on. When are they going to go after the Yellow Shirts who blocked and thoroughtly disrupted the airport for days until the Yellow Shirt backed court kicked the lawfully elected PM out.
Erm..they're not. The game is about eliminating all of Thaksin's options prior to an election, should one ever be held.
I think they are making a mistake. Their hope is to drive the Thaksins out of politics, hoping that will be enough to end the challenge to their God-given right to rule by ending any hopes the poor and down-trodden have of improving their lot in life.
The end result, in my opinion, is that the poor will learn that they don't need another 'leader' to lead their struggle and this will make things much harder for the elite.

Like that a lot.

Oh she'll do run because her Burberry boots don't go very well with the orange jump suit
says you. I can imagine that being quite attractive.
I'd like to see her on sewer cleaning duty as well.

In my opinion it was a good and fair decision, based on facts and not political sentiments.
As about the ongoing reconciliation process, I believe it will take many years to cure the wounds the previous politicians have inflicted to the Thai people.
But I'm confident, with the good strategy and intention of this Government, that this can be achieved.
How long will it take to cure the wounds the present politicians are inflicting on the Thai people?

So, putting FFH, Kevlar jackets and pants, boots and gloves on the first time rider tourists (Russian or otherwise) that rent 1000cc+ sport bikes available everywhere in Pattaya and then ride around Pattaya/Jomtien like they are on a race track or the Isle of Mann will solve the problem? Some how I don't think so, especially for the pedestrians or other riders who happen to get in their way.
Come on Thailaw, we are taking the piss here
I also don't ride fully geared up on my pcx but always wears at least a shirt not because of safety but find it more appropriate when out and about.
Same for me. Wouldn't be seen dead outside without a shirt.
Pants?
Well that's another thing altogether...

a trillion dollar... now imagine how much could have ment that for education or a plan for free universal healtcare, in that other land of free
Of course, in a democracy, your vote gets to decide where the money gets spent. Voters get to choose if that trillion goes to education, health or crumbling infrastructure, or the murder of civilians in far off lands.
Now if only we had a democracy...

More filth. For every scum they catch there is still another 10 operating.
Why can't immigration racially profile these people? Every other aspect of thai society is racist so why not when it comes to immigration?
Serious question.99% of Iranian arrested in Thailand are smuggling meth. This one is a bit odd. They are diversifying. Its truethey need to profile these sort of scum. Iranians going into any western country they would be given the 3rd degree. Either refugees, war criminals or smugglers. There arent that many Iranians that can afford to travel
Try Pratunam. Plenty of hotels and restaurants owned by Iranians.

The picture is interesting. Iranians are Persians and they aren't Arabs. They aren't Asians. They are Aryan Whites.
You've obviously never met an Iranian.

Not questioning the veracity of the accusations--they may (or may not) be true--but I wonder if this more of a political move than a genuine effort to fight to end corruption. Throwing in the LM charge certainly makes it look that way...
A political move...hmm you may be on to something.
Where did you form that opinion?

A good thing. They should put the bike lanes behind barriers. I was up there a month or so back and the road was blocked by cyclists crawling up the hills 4 wide on the road.
Far more dangerous and annoying than noisy motorcycles.

Spending the festive season holed up in Soi Bukow in Pattaya is probably worse than spending solitary in the Maze prison in Belfast.
I know this man Diver's uncle Seamus Ducker
They are known to the RUC as the 'Duckers and Divers'
Anyway he's got nothing to worry about, he'll soon be invited to Parliament to sit in the British cabinet alongside Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness
Might even be invited to meet the Queen if he can murder a few innocent people
He'd be keeping company with another bunch of murderers then wouldn't he?

Totally useless action as usual. Sounds more like a quick collection of a few thousand baht to by whisky for the Christmas/New Year parties down at Soi 9!
Paying for whisky??
Are you mad?
that's the first thing they get for free in Pattaya.

Tainted process, no guilty verdict could be considered 'safe'. They will have to let them go even if they are guilty. The RTP can blame themselves and the conga line of dimwits making conflicting and contradictory statements from day one.
I think that has been the plan all along. The RTP can congratulate themselves for allowing the culprits to be buried (figuratively speaking) in the incompetent investigation.

This debate raged on the 'teacher's forum' some years ago.
One guy claimed he was on close to 200,000 per month, when benefits were added in.
Everyone called him a liar until he posted a copy of his pay slip.

I love French names lately
So the guy comes from France, what's the issue with his name?
Should he change his name to something more French just to keep the likes of you happy?

I seem to recall that the father, who is described as a real estate businessman, was actually given a sinecure job at SC Assets, the family property development firm where Yingluck 'worked' after Shin Corp was sold to Trmasek. I think his wife worked there too. It must be hard for the professionals to run the business, if the family members actually show up for work.
Before it was taken over in the police chief's multi billion baht corporate raid Yingluck's unregistered husband was given the CEO job at MLINK by Yingluck's sister. Their unregistered marriage seems to be on the rocks, so he hasn't been offered a replacement sinecure job by the Shins. Perhaps he is now at the labour exchange. Funny how the buyers of Shin companies never try to persuade any of the family management to stay on.
He opened a mall and hotel in Pratunam but it is almost empty everyday.
