the other choice is order it from
http://thaimotorbox.com/product.php
i used them a few years ago and no problems, although slow to answer emails, but Alvin's
english is fine.

i did this at Jomtien back in July. Next day pick up (make sure you leave the old passport with the application, they gave mine back to me and i got an angry call to bring it back. Of course i apologised for taking it. )
I asked the Australian Emb to issue a letter saying that i was replacing the passport, which they did for free but Jomtien Immi didn't ask for it. If your Emb does it for free, it doesn't hurt to have it!

the shop papa al is refering to is GT Rider (corner of Soi 8 and Tai), i was in there a few days ago and they had something similar (not that i looked to closely!)
https://th-th.facebook.com/GTRiderpty
X-Speed has also opened up a new shop on 3rd near soi Lengkee, maybe worth a look but probably similar stuff to GT

I have two Givi topboxes and never had a problem with the locking mechanism. What seems to be the problem that you guys have and how is it different with the Shads?
both Givis i have had, the lid has to be perfectly closed otherwise the catch locks into place on the outside (so the key can be turned) but does not actually lock onto the lid on the inside. It is locked but can still open the lid. Also happens if something in the way of the lid catch inside. The other thing i don't like is the hinge pins holding the lid can easily be removed so not very secure (probably same for most boxes).
Both were Malaysian made ones, so don't know if the Euro ones are different.

New shop on corner of 3rd road and soi lengkee, good selection and they fit the boxes on site

thanks. X-Speed

These people usually have a good selection. In Pattaya Tai also. I have a Give and a Shad case. I prefer the Shad for the same reason as taichiplanet, the locking mechanism is a bit more straightforward on the Shad.
Their fb shows the shop Thepprasit but as drift said it is on Pat Tai, on the corner of Soi 8. i might check them out as need a rack for my Yam SX and due for another 'Real' Helmet.

if you go to the main Mityon on the corner of South Pattaya Rd and 3rd Road (Thanon Chaloem Phrakiat) they will have some top boxes. a few years back i bought a rack and case and had it fitted at the one opposite DukCom further down on South Pattaya Rd.
There is also a shop that sell Chinese made ones, maybe they sell others. it is a helmet and motocy shop on the corner of South Pattaya and Ko Phai (opposite Pattaya Tai 16). If you go from the Mityon Shop on Pattaya Tai towards Sukhumvit, it is on the right hand side about 500 meters.

most of the larger Honda shops can do it; the main one on Pattaya Tai/3rd. Head down Tai and the shop opposite Duk Com has some.
Can'r remember if the larger one on Thepprasit Rd has them.
At a guess i would say around THB 3,000 for a rack and small case.
i have a Givi but don't like the locking mechanism (too fiddly), others prefer Shad.

It's a spare tire. That's why we're laughing at you.
Sent from my LG-D858
i'd imagine driving such a large vehicle, especially across dams and through rivers, would tire the driver very much so why would someone want a spare tire! As the vehicle itself is already exhausted, i'd suggest what is needed is uppers not downers; just like this forum sometimes.

you will damage it if you try to use it on the road. it is actually a propeller for crossing rivers and dams.
you have to lower it manually, but it will engage the drive gear automatically. They purposely made it manual lowering otherwise idiots would press the button at the wrong time.
looking forward to seeing the photos when you try it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
For some reason I thought it was on next week!
For the first time in decades I missed it.
Bugger.
what a race to miss! it should be renamed the Bathurst Gymkhana Smash-up Derby 1000!
we won't tell you the results just in case you want to download a torrent and watch all 7 1/2 hours of it.
BTW thanks OldAussie, that link was great. My dodgey Astro feed did disappear and watching it on yahoo was a life saver.
Last year i watched it with Chinese commentary!

Good idea. Hope my internet speed will support it without endless bufferingI couldn't find a stream for the top 10 shootout today so I ended up paying the $14.00 for the v8supercars.com stream.... missus will be pissed tomorrow when I plug the computer into the loungeroom TV for the day !!
Looks like ustream is a goer.
Weird.
Working for you and mine still says off air.
Speedcafe has live blog, but no video
How's the v8supercars.com stream working out?
i couldn't get ustream to work either.
try http://livetv.sx/en/eventinfo/262748_v8_bathurst/
the first one has Spanish commentary but good video (the ones marked as being in english don't work)

interesting that Schumaker's injuries are being blamed on the helmet camera; something to think about if you mount one when riding.
back on topic. for pottering around town i think Real Helmets (full face) are adequate. Still can't find how they got the ECE rating (to get this rating it has to be tested while DOT is self-certified)
Can check if helmet is certified for UK

hopefully some of the streaming websites will show it. i found a listing on livetv.sx (starts at 5.30am!) but
last year it wasn't streamed. A pity AustPlus/Network doesn't show it

the best finish would be ceramic coating, then it never dulls, probably expensive but worth it. maybe powder coating, but would that stand up to the heat?
seems to be mixed views on whether powder coating would handle the heat, while ceramic can handle upto 2000F
maybe powder coat the outside of everything except the cylinder head. the cyl head bead blast and paint with a high temp silver (if such a thing exists in Thailand as a good quality high temp paint! i guess the same can be said for correct application of ceramic and powder coatings!!)
i had a GB400 done up here, the alloy bottom end was polished and clear coated which looked good. Don't know if it would hold up over time but it should. They made a mess of the cylinder head though, by painting it with ordinary paint. As soon as i saw it i knew it would burn off, which it did.
an interesting blog on powder coating

maybe not so weird for thailand but weird for me. A couple of years ago driving down Sukhumvit in Central Pattaya in moderately heavy Saturday morning traffic. i was sticking as far left as possible, not something i like doing but my pillion would give me a thump between the shoulder blades if i drove too fast or do something deemed remotely wrong. Just flowing with the traffic when a Honda CRV on red plates next to me decides to prop and cut across to stop at a 7. Luckily there was enough room to violently swerve towards the parked cars and squeeze through. Without thinking i hit the horn. I check the mirror and see him stopped in the middle of the road, i kept a watery eye on him and then after a little while he takes off. So i was ready for him when he tried to force me off the road. Okay, not so weird so far. The passenger window is down and he is screaming something in Thai (later translated to me as "Do you want to die or what!!) and waving a silver revolver around. At this stage my legs get a little shakey! He continuely tried to get across to me, but luckily there was a baht bus going slow (that is weird!) so i kept it between us. Even when we pulled into the Highway Patrol complex, he stopped and waited for a while. BTW the cops just laughed when we told them what happened, didn't even want to try and look into it; typical. i later found out that probably what set him off was that my pillion gave the guy the middle finger. At least whenever pillion gave me a hard time about my driving style, i could retort with "the only time we were nearly killed was because of you!"

hopefully this is correct!

i want to do something with my wave in similar fashion but more naked and metal plus with rectangular headlight.
here is my honda wave 125x - not my photo.
I am thinking of removing some of fairing completely including front cowl and headlight but not the taillight or side fairings.
Adding a rectangular headlight at front.
and getting some nice rims and quality tires - maybe bigger sizes and tires as the bikes OP posted. prefer grip than knobs of course. and sure a nice set of YSS shocks and a better spring at front.
engine upgrade to 180 - 200 cc, air filter, an aggressive cam, carb jetting. pipe on it is already modified and valve/piston are coming from sonic if i dont remember wrong.
and maybe painting the chassis nicely to red.
Simple, cheap and nice. let see though. nowadays very busy.
any ideas appreciated.
i am thinking along the same lines as you; using a Wave. After all it is evolution of the Cub. i want the modern aspects such as the disc brake, tele forks and probably even fuel injection (though have to put up with the big black air box). Also, there won't be any greenbook problems! i am not going to modify the engine (125 or 110cc doesn't matter for me) and will try to keep the original muffler (some of the wave mufflers look okay with the chrome shield taken off). 17 x 3" rims with 100/80 or 110/80 tyres.
i reckon you can do similar to the blue bike posted by Dutchbike if you want. Actually that blue bike is based on the Dream (not the current Dream Super Cub such as NormanW's).
i spoke to my mechanic today and showed him photos, he showed me a Dream frame he had laying around and it looks very similar to my untrained eye. i showed him several different styles, he said no problem to do anything i want (it only comes down to money!). Those rear panels of the Dream were available years ago, but they can be made. The side covers look they are off a Cub C70 or C90 (see link). Easy enough to add a top bar (and run the cables through it to look tidy). From what i can see the 125 Wave frame has a slight bend in it near the steering head, i haven't been able to look at a 110 frame. Not hard to change if doesn't look right. At first i was thinking full length forks but can't use the Wave ones as only half length, so an added expense. i don't think it would look too bad to do a square cover on the forks, either half length or full length from the steering head. If full length it will have to be cut somewhere so the top part can slide over the bottom part.
Yeah, i have been bored the last week so have been mucking around with photoshop on several different bikes. So all i have to do now is settle on a design and buy a Wave!

Is this model available in Thailand? Its perfect for mounting a large transport box on the rear for shopping.
The only similar bike (without pillion seat) i know of is the Ryuka Classic2.
the jr motor website shows it, and they also show a conversion kit but the rack is slightly higher

I'm after an aftermarket rear seat to fit on the rack.
Anyone know where to buy?
Honda don't sell and neither does gt rider on Pattaya tai.
can only find sets of seats and not sure if will fit your bike. an upholstery shop should be able to make one for you; a few years back i used one in Soi Siam Country Club, just before the railway line

Vehicle Transfer.
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted · Edited by taichiplanet
this thread covers it pretty well
http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/649448-which-province-sellers-or-buyers-to-transfer-green-book/?p=6550928
don't know about CNX but yellow book should be okay (it is accepted in Pattaya) and in Pattaya both foreign seller and buyer must have Res Cert/Yellow book.
you can pick up copies of the forms needed
http://www.ayutthaya.go.th/form/index4.html
the first one (แบบคำขอโอนและรับโอน (แบบ ขส.บ. 10 ท. -11 -ท.)) is the transfer form
the 4th one (หนังสือมอบอำนาจ) is the Power of Attorney (if not going to office in person)
