  1. He wants the mag wheel not the spoke/wire wheel.

I've looked everywhere for these too, but have never found where they get those wider mag wheels from. Some of them are Honda made as well. I asked my mechanic and he said they are 2nd hand, so maybe they come in from Malaysia/Phillipines/Indonesia. Daiichi have mag wheels but not wider ones, i would've thought there would be a good market for them but they seem to concentrate on OEM size or smaller.

I've been hoping that the bike maufacturers would bring out an option of 1.85" or 2.15" mags for their scooters, especially the Nouvo/Hayate/Wave but i guess it is wishful thinking.

  2. JonnyF and siampreggers, don't we already have a thread dedicated to the CBR/Ninja pissing match? I like beating people over the head with empirical evidence to attempt to make them see the truth (looking at you Jonny), but to pollute a thread with things that have been rehashed time and again (looking at you siampreggers) is more than a bit silly.

As stated earlier, I don't give two rat's whiskers about the Ninja's new look any more than their old graphics or Honda's meh styling. Has anyone found any information on gearing yet so I can get a read on actual performance improvements?

don't know how reliable this info is, as haven't seen it on a brochure or an official site

  3. Been a few threads on trikes over the last couple of years but not much around.

The Piaggio MP3 was being sold in thailand but not sure if it is still; i did see a 2nd hand one for sale in Pattaya about 6 months ago.

The only other i know of are Tiger and Lion, but don't know if they can be registered or not.

Tiger (at the bottom of the page)

  4. a few recent threads sort of discussing this type of thing. IMO in order of preference for what you want it is the PCX, then the NouvoSX/Hayate, probably the new Click 125i, then the rest. It sounds like you don't want to spend 70k for a PCX, so maybe the Nouvo SX or Hayate in the mid 50ks.

As far as i know, most registration books in thailand only allow 2 people on a motorbike, not 3 (or 4 or 5!).

then i may as well throw in the taiwanese made Tiger Gmax 150

Hmm, looks ok, at first sight. Something wrong with that bike? How much is it?

last i heard it was 64,500THB with 3 year/30,000 kms warranty. i don't know much about them and only seen one on the streets. They are made by PGO, and are a CKD kit for Thailand. In the USA they are known as the Blur 150.

A TV member i know has one and after 5000 kms has had no problems, and said the ride is very good and assembly/fit/finish is also good. While personally i trust his reports as 100% honest, some here on TV may be sceptica due to his loose association with Tiger. Then again the sceptics would expect me to say that!

  6. Sorry everybody, I forget to live up to every-bodies expectations, so I need to say something about a Chinese alternative, maybe a Taiwanese scooter is Chinese enough.

As alternative for a sporty 125cc scooter I can recommend the Sym Jet4 125, if performance is the driving force behind your choice you surely look at the Sym Jet4 125...

  7. is it renewal after 1st year or 5 years? If it is after the 1st year then can only do it on or after the expiry date. With the renewal after 5 years i don't think it matters before or after the expiry date.

You have to go to the DLT (Dept of Land Transport) and you need all the documents you had to do before (Residency Certificate from Immigration, Doctor Certificate, passport of course, and copies of everything). If you are doing car licence and bike licence, some offices require 2 of everything. No exams, just money!

They gave me temporary for 1 year and it is the first year,so this time they should give me for 5 year??? Are you sure that it should be the day of expire or after??if i go after they will not say you should do all exams one more time??I;d like to go early. maybe you know hotline of DLT?thank you for help

Yes, you will automatically get the 5 year. Genericnic (above) was able to get it before, but Offices around the country maybe different so best to check, No problems going after the expiry date, you don't have to do any tests again.

    Call Centre number is 1584.

a list of the offices (been googlefied)

  9. The specs of the 2 bikes you are asking about tell the story but if you don't want to believe what anyone is telling you then the best thing to do is rent each of them and you will see the difference.

Naboo is right, you are deciding between 2 different types of bikes. Bikes like the Nouvo/Hayate/Airblade have better ride and handling over the Mio/Fino/ TTX/Scoopy etc.

  10. No two ways about it, the SX125 is the better of the two, for comfort, performance and stability. It's also got a fancy digital tacho with a live range reading, kick stand cut off and a projector headlight (although i'm not sure how good that particular projector is) Buy the SX smile.png

i agree. Out of all the small auto scooters available in Thailand the SX is the pick of the bunch (PCX is a different class). But if you want to take out the unsophisticated ugly sister; up to you! biggrin.png

  11. for the Fi i don't think it will make much difference, i suspect the ECU is the restriction. On my 150Fi i did change the header pipe up to the muffler, as the cat is seperate from the muffler (unlike the 250). Can't say it made much difference, though it sounded nicer! Had it custom made out of stainless. If you want a bit more acceleration and are happy to sacrifice top speed, then changing the rear sprocket from from a 43T to a 45T is a nice and cheap mod.

  12. Luckily we have had constant rain all day today, as opposed to the drought over the last few years. Oh wait, they haven't built yet so the rain will delay construction. Oh wait again, Cartoon Network Amazone Water Park about 5 kms away at Bang Sare is also being built.

Gone are the days when a restaurant or mobile phone shop opened up and a few weeks later 10 others copied and opened next door; now they have billions of baht to play with. Yippee!!!

Sorry, i am just jealous as i don't have a billion baht to throw around. At least the Cartoon Network one is a bit different based on an Amazon Rainforest theme, with cartoon series themes on Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and The Amazing World of Gumball.

The small road from Sukhumvit to Silver Lake already gets heavy traffic on the weekends, how is it gonna cope with a massive water park?!
