I'd still like to know what a TM30 form is, ie, what purpose it serves so that if necessary I can be prepared to provide it in future.
I don't think I've encountered it before.
See post #4 of this topic http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/818144-tm-30-form/
OK, Thanks. So the TM30 is a form to be filled out by the owner or manager of where you reside. In effect a way to provide proof to immigration. This requirement must be related to recent requirement to report for 90 day at the last immigration location you reported before. If one travels a lot (as I do with condos in 4 provinces) this requirement has become tedious, but so far I've eased the tedioum by asking my condo managers for an official letter each time before I go to do the 90 day in a different province. If I was able to successfully report online I would just continue to report the same location (but online has not been successful for me).

What is a TM30?

Lumpini Park View Condo overlooks Lumpini Park and has an MRT entrance at it's front door. See google map at link:

I believe a 40 sm condo would rent between 15k & 20K THB/mo depending upon view / floor & furnishings.
I'm not trying to rent mine but could attach a picture of the fantastic view from 33rd floor, if only I knew how to attach a picture. Excellent location.

I don't know if this is in any way related, but since July the stock price of Thai vegetable Oil Public Company (tvo) has increased approx 25% (from approx 22 or 23 area up to approx 28 roughly). Insiders at work?

Next Tuesday week (not next Tues) @ 14:08 Thai time, it will hit the fan, many will put on their parachute!
Enough your flight, Sir.
Thanks for nothing!

At the old airport is a low rise hotel (forgot name) with a good pool and a good gym that outsiders can join for exercising. Reasonably priced for long term memberships but I've forgotten details.
-
But what would be the reasoning behind it, if it were colour based? Control, punishment?
er.. you think ???
This is vote for us and get handouts (rubber farmers subsidy) dont vote for us and get crapped on (no water for your rice, stop planting your crops, bangkok metropolitan wants to hose down the streets and we must have shiny Mercedes)..
If you cant see that the implementation of policy falls down the color divide I think your being willfully ignorant. When the police tried to ignore the top down commands that they had to impose on the local community they got transferred.
Too many of these to think this is by chance.
...and why does BKK Immigration refuse to grant Chiang Mai Immigration the resources it needs to handle the customer load efficiently? In turn, why does Chiang mai Immigration too inflexible to implement continuous process improvements during this period of denied resources (such as training whatever personnel resources are still available so they can be shifted to other desks as workload changes, improving the old now defunct online queing system, etc). Is there a good old fued going on between BKK and Chiang Mai, with both sides too stubborn to compromise?

If the foreign quota is filled the resale value of a foreign owned room potentially increases.

The more threads I have been reading the last days + wife talking to Imm.Officer at Prom. makes me think that CM Imm. actually want most expats to leave CM ... Seems odd when they would be taking away their own jobs (and benefits ...whistling.gif ) but it just getting worse and we are actually considering to leave for another place ... sad that these people have the power to make people leave sad. A poster in another thread wrote about CM Immigration: .."administrative incompetence / callous indifference." I agreed with that that. However, I now sincerely believe that CM Immigration actions are also intentional / deliberate. Taking down the online que signup and reducing retirement service personnel from two people to one person are deliberate decisions.
In my mind the only area for speculation is "WHY".

Jomtien Immigration office is fantastic. Yes Chiang Mai Immigration suxx, almost to the point you have to start believing it's intentional.

Thanks for sharing, banglander.
What can you tell us about the current price of eggs out your way?
If I recall correctly, you're definitely the guy with his finger on that particular pulse. So to speak.
Is Bangmai our old Thighlander? That explains so many things...
He certainly knows where to get his beer "fix".

Does anybody have any insight into status / timelines this future development? I'm told it has not yet started(I am not in BKK now). Thanks.

the answer has been posted repeatedly recently, try a search
if so what do they do at the old office
i didnt find all i saw was posts about the new one
you asked where to do a retirement extension and have your answer
Everything not done at the new office is done at the old one, it is very complicated, don't try to figure it out, it will change again soon anyway.
well i did mine last year at the old one. so whats going to change ?
What's going to change? Well, apparently now there is only one officer doing retirement visa's instead of two, so you get to wait longer.

Ask at a stock broker's office.

""Updating this analysis today reveals fair value has now dropped further and stands at USD785/oz,” they noted.
The analysts compared gold prices to the S&P 500 as well as inflation measures in order to assess price points that would reflect the metal's value with its historical averages. "Another route to assess whether the move in the gold price over recent months is overdone is to consider gold relative to the S&P500,” they said. “[T]o bring gold prices back towards its 1970-2014 average of 0.53x would require gold prices falling to USD935/oz."
Looking at premiums between bullion and gold financial assets over the longer term, the analysts suggested that they are too high right now when compared to historical averages. Adjusting gold prices by the U.S. PPI and CPI, we find that in real terms gold is still trading significantly above its long run historical average,” they said. "Indeed for gold to eliminate its premium in real terms it would need to fall to USD725/oz and USD775/oz on a PPI and CPI adjusted basis respectively to bring gold back to its 1970-2014 average.”

HI, does anyone know of any free easy charts online that has Gold Price in Different currencies. Don't need to be a ticker or anything, just curious.

How about putting the brakes on unlimited development / new construction, especially high rise buildings that are not only heavy but whose tenants also suck more water out of the ground. If Bangkok is really going to be serious about this problem, what bigger Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) consideration could they possibly have? But of course that would limit profits & back handers associated with unlimited development.

20July2015: http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/gold/628328/gold-prices-down-b350-to-b18100
What could be the impact of this: http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/finance/627724/spot-gold-market-stuck-in-tug-of-war
Quote:
"A physical gold exchange is crucial for the SET to achieve its goal of becoming the leading exchange in Southeast Asia, as the Asean market is expected to integrate at the end of this year. Such a bourse is also expected to help lift the trading volume of local gold dealers after they reported a decline in line with the precious metal's price slump and the launch of the Singapore Exchange's spot gold market."

Quote: Notification by registered mail Notice :
-
- Your registered mail must be sent to the Immigration office at least 15 days before the due date of notification.
- Your new form will be stamped as of the expiration date of your old receipt.
- Please keep your receipt of your registered mail in case of lost mail.
- Your document can not be processed if you have passed the 90 days limit. ( You must come to the nearest immigration office or Immigration Division 1 in person to pay fine 2,000 Baht)
- Waiting for reply mail over 1 month, please contact Immigration Office with your registered mail receipt.
With the online your next 90 day report is from the date of approval, so you lose days again.

My speculation:
I'm willing to bet that because they have many applications to process that just will not be bothered to change the date on their rubber stamps.

RIP. Those U-turns are are very dangerous.
Indeed.
For some reason a Thai female friend in her 20's has a fetish of posting raod death photos on her facebook page, many are caused by u-turns. Typically a pick-up doing the turn, a motorbike coming at highspeed smashing into it.
RIP.
....and smashing into it because the pick-up obnoxiously ignored the approaching motorbike and pulled out in front of it. I have come to expect them to pull out in front of me at uturns.

Thanks for that. I see that the TM28 is probably of more use for me, as I wander back & forth between provinces.
