  1. is this a virus attack?

every time i'm browsing thru Thai Visa i get this (pictured) alert from my firewall :o

    post-30914-1160045074_thumb.jpg

Intrusion WinMSSQL.Worm Helken would be from an infected Microsoft SQL server. We use MySQL, different database.

Can barely read your virus protection pop-up, so post the IP address that is attempting to infect you and I can tell you where it is from.

  2. Fast reply is working Ok. But reply brings up the usual response thingy. Then when you click to write something. It redirects to bkkfighter.com. Admin?

the code displaying the sponsor link caused this problem, i have fixed it now. please test

  3. ok, the member names viewing a topic feature is now restored. also, our server has been optimized/tweaked alittle more to handle heavy traffic such as the thaivisa record set today.

    thanks for your patience.

  4. Don't know if it is just part of the attempt to minimize traffic temporarily due to the coup news but I've noticed that at the bottom of the page of the topic being read it no longer shows the number of users and members name. Temporary or bug?

yes, this feature has been temporarily disabled to relieve database demand. will be restored in the near future

  5. I have just been in to see if my non imm o 1 year extension was approved, i had been given 30 days extension from the time i applied, when they gave me my passport it was stamped still pending approval, come back in 30 days.

Is there a lot of delays at the moment?

It seemed everyone got the same as they had the same look on their face when they got their passports back.

very normal, it happens with first year applicants and sometimes others. most likely they are backed up with applications or the big bosses are on holiday.

  6. the Friendly URL setting that allows members to display album graphics in posts can not be turned on.

at this time, it causes an error for the gallery albums displaying graphics and had to be turned off.

hopefully with the next gallery version this bug will be resolved and we can enable FURLs again.

So this is a bug that came with the most recent version of the forum software ? Bummer :D

(Makes me wonder if the InVision programmers used to work for Micro$oft) :o

actually the gallery is a seperate component of the forum software, i think there was a problem a few weeks prior to the main forum software upgrade.

we are notified of new versions and will keep looking into this in the future.

  8. Hi Chaps , I am in the dark as much as you here!

I have not used any mod functions since my appointment , I will ask the powers that be and get back to you. It is bloody annoying when a thread goes awry.

    Chon

for some reason the forum was set to only display topics 'today'... so i set it to 'show all'

nothing was ever lost, should all be viewable now.

let me know if i can do anything to help in the future.

    $this->ipsclass->hdl_forum_read_cookie('set');

delete your browser cookies and let it create a new one for thaivisa, or maybe your browser security settings are too high

  10. i find it hard to believe immigration would take away it's citizen's passports, but have listed below what i could find. i am aware many have been using two passports for many years without problems, would like to hear comments of what is expected for the future.

Some other countries take away citizenship the moment the person acquires another nationality

Numerous countries either ignore or prohibit dual citizenship. These include: Burma, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Syria, Thailand, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.

    Thailand

"The Thai Nationality Act (2535 B.E.) has opened the possibility for a (foreign born) person, born of a father or a mother of Thai nationality, to acquire Thai nationality" (link to Thai embassy in US).

It is unclear exactly what status dual citizenship has in Thai law, though there is at least some recognition

Malaysia, Thailand closer to fixing dual citizenship issue

These people, he added, would have to decide which citizenship to adopt within a stipulated period.
