Was just trying to book a hotel using your drop down box --> --> Book your hotel here: -- that is located at the top of each page!
But whilst doing this i am recieving an error! The error reads:
<%if ($URL) { header("Location:$URL"); } if ($go1) { header("Location:$URL1"); } if ($go2) { header("Location:$URL2"); } if ($go3) { header("Location:$URL3"); } %>
Is it just me/my pc or is that link not working for everyone at the moment?
yes, there seems to be a problem with that drop down box in the header. thank you for bringing this to our attention, will fix that.
for today, please go to the bottom right corner of this page to select your hotel destination:

At the top of the screen on this forum there is usually an advertisement for International Driver's Licenses. Since we all know (or should know) that an International Driving Permit (IDP) can only be issued by an authorized agency in the state where the national driver's license was issued...well...are the forum members really being served by this kind of ad?
The Geneva convention on IDPs is quite specific on this point. The only 'agent' who can issue a IDP is the one appointed by the state that issued the regular driving licence. In the case of the various states in the USA it is AAA.
as lop posted, thaivisa has no control over the ads accepted and displayed by google.
contact them and let us know what you find out if possible

I'd like to drop a supercharger into my car. Anyone know if they even import superchargers for say a BMW 7-series (for example, ESS superchargers, etc.)? If so, where? And what is the markup? They run about 6k USD back home excl. labor. Would rather not have some shoddy mechanic do my car as his guinea pig, so can anyone recommend somewhere with experience? (assuming they do this here in Thailand) thanks.
teej
Have heard good things about HKS, not sure of BMW superchargers but they could refer you to a shop.

I went to thai immigration and they said I need to go to an embassy outside thailand.
yes for a new visa you will need to visit an embassy/consulate outside thailand. for a one year extension that comes from thai immigration.
I never had to have my wife around for the first one just a letter stating were married in thailand and that I will spend alot of time here. I was hoping one of the embassies from a close country might not be too strict and just give it to me.you will most likely need a copy of her thai ID also with marriage cerificate. i think cambodia may only issue a single entry, maybe another member can post a recent penang or laos experience.

Just renewed my UK Passport. I am currently on 30 entry stamp with about 5 days remaining. Do I need to go to Suan Plu to transfer this stamp, or can I take my old and new Passport to the border when I do my next visa run?
i would recommend going to BKK immigration and having your current stay information copied over, it's quick, painless and free.

I received my one year multi entry family visit visa from the consulat in Los Angeles one year ago. My ex wife helped me out by providing all the paper work and a letter stating were still married in thailand. She lives in the US and I live in thailand and don't want to ask her for help again. I have all the original paper work but hte letter is a year old.
Can I easily get another one year family visit in Laos or Cambodia. I have all the same paper work from before and proof of residence in thailand and a bank account here.
I know when I go back the the US I can get my ex-wifes help again and get it at Los Angeles but would rather do it on my own.
Im to young to get a retirement visa and don't need or want a bussiness.
from cambodia, i would say if your paperwork is in order you will receive a single entry non-immigrant O visa. generaly in south east asia, they are expecting you to enter on a O visa and then to get a one-year extension of stay from thai immigration. your wife will need to be there for the extension immigation interview for sure. you mentioned that this may not be possible since she is in the US.
you could fly back and go to los angeles, if not maybe some one on the forum has recently pulled a multi-entry one year visa from penang and can give you a green light for that location.

Just wondering, my tourist visa ends April 4 and I want to apply for an extension at the immigration in Bangkok instead of going for a visa run.
Are the extension given on the same day?
Thx
~R
yes, the extension should be less than an hour...1900 baht

Is there any way of turning off the forum behaviour which lumps together all the posts that you make within a short time span into one post? It's driving me bonkers

My question for the experts is, does anyone know if the requirements at the Thai embassies in Malaysia are any different than in Los Angeles for the non-imm. "O" visa for support of a Thai citizen; i.e., is there any other documentation besides my son's birth certificate required? If possible I'd like to make sure I don't step on my Johnson this time around. Also, is Malaysia really the most convenient and sure-fire option for this type of visa (I live in BKK)?
Thanks, folks
bring a copy of her Thai ID with you also. should be no problem, now that you have pages added to your passport.

OK thanks,
Why?
Could you please elaborate?
How much does it cost? Does it take more than the regular 2 days?
And what kind of problems I might have if I go myself?
Thanks in advance!
go yourself and after a few days there is a chance of having your passport returned with a new visa stamped 'cancelled' across it, with no explanation given. very moody people in there face to face. let a visa service do it, worth the piece of mind.

Oh, and I'd suggest avoiding the Federal Hotel, some really feral fifty year-old katoeys outside who I doubt would take no for an answer if you were actually staying there!
yikes !

Hi,
Just a quick question since I haven't found info about it. I know that the Thai embassy in Phnom Pehn is one of the worst places to get visas, but I will be in Cambodia and will need to get a new tourist visa about the same time.
What is the situation now?
Is it only difficult to get non-immigrant visas or also tourist ones?
Anything I need to know?
Thanks a lot
i highly recommend you use a visa service once you are cambodia. there is one next to the sunshine hotel that is reliable.

a) I must complete the 90 form and post it to suan phlu just before 90 days from the date of my marriage visa extension application as stamped in my passport
you need to report your address 90 days from your last entry into thailand. application or completion of an extension doesn't qualify.
c) if it fails, the worst that can happen is a 2k fine - do you get a black mark for this as with overstay?you will have a stamp in your passport with the date, fine amount, etc.
d) what if i didnt report. Each year have to pay 6k for 3 90day reports? Any black mark?multiple stamps of ignoring reporting when required shows lack of respect for immigration's rules. not recommended, as you need to apply for extensions in the future.
e) after 3 of more years of contunuous residence I can apply for permanent resident. Its expensive, is it worth it? perhaps I should search the forum here - apologies in advance for any dumb questionsthis topic comes up weekly, try searching or click back a few days in the forum.

Is there a guide to the new forum software?
If not, could one be made and pinned in this forum?
I think there appears to be many small nuances of which members could be made aware, thus increasing our enjoyment of Thaivisa.

here you will find some topics for using our installed invision board software

Has any thought been given to maybe disabling font size and colours for members with less than 500 posts .
recently there seems to have been a trend with some peanuts using the font size to emphasize tripe.
please take the toys off the little boys till they get older. ( ie. not safe for children under the age of 5 years )
the setting is BBCode Posting and is unfortunately only available per forum not by member group

today i was looking at my album picture and i saw a option that says PINNED i clicked so now i have a pinned picture but What does it mean? What is the use of it?
Thanks
if you would like a picture to be at the beginning of your album, PIN will bring it foward.

Since they started to pull off foreign tourists from visa run bus, and the overstay fine will rise to 500 baht a day, can’t we see a sign of something?
I would choose a low profile location and service to do my visarun in the future.
why not go for a visa run a few days before and not overstay, just a wild idea.

And it's only a 20 dollars fee for Huskis time so well worth it.
Or a case of Chang!!!
chang sounds good, thanks
